After an orbital heals can you wear regular studs?
Or will not wearing rings cause the holes to misalign?
Can someone link me to the person who was live-blogging ATLA on this sub a while back?
The reactions were super interesting and in-depth and I’m having a hard time finding them again!

Are there any calculators out there that allow you to do math in arbitrary bases?
Like, you can put in ‘base 7’ and it’ll do all the calculations in that base, for instance!
Fractional bases would be really cool but not necessary
Also, ideally, it would allow you to use decimals

Best way to type with your keyboard on your lap?
I like to write spontaneously, so sometimes I just have my phone, an external keyboard and nowhere to put it except my lap. Considering this, what’s the best/least damaging way to have my hands/arms positioned?
Stagnating at 35 WPM?
I’ve been consistently writing at least 500 words a day, but whenever I test myself on the typing websites, I can’t seem to get much above 35. I was at 35 a month ago and I’m still at 35 today. Any advice?
Characters from media with no canon appearance?
The rules say that you can’t do a direct expy - it has to be an AU or headcanon version of a character. What I’m a bit confused about, is if a character has no canon appearance, is the way you imagine them in your head okay to post, or is that still too close?
[TOMT] What are those texture boards called where it’s a bunch of pins sticking out and you push into them to create designs?
reddit.comClay for writing
I’m writing a story about a group of people that live at very high temperatures, and I was thinking about having them use clay tablets to write, but I have some logistical questions.
How hard is dry, unfired clay? Could you drag a hard surface along the dips and grooves without messing up the writing? How long does it take to dry at various temperatures? Is there some kind of formula I can use?
What’s the best way to re-wet dry clay to remold it?
What clays, starting from a base of the kind you find in the ground, could you fire without actually needing to use fire?
Can you keep air dry clay moist to prevent it from hardening or does air exposure always dry it?
Can you make air dry clay by mixing natural clay with non-organic binders? What are the recipes used to make it industrially (as opposed to DIY)?
Is there a complex scientific term for stars?
Writing something involving a blind species who only recently discovered that stars and other planets were a thing, after inventing a way to detect electromagnetic wavelengths (aka light) and translate them into comprehensible output - they thought space was basically empty until then. So they’d really have no need to have a simple layperson word for it.
Recs for movies (or tv) featuring non-humanoid sapient aliens?
Ideally clothes-wearing, but that’s not a necessity. Ideally I’d want them to be as far from a humanoid bauplan as possible (think stuff like Project Hail Mary!)
