Is it me, or is Vocaloid generally harder to use?
And im not just talking about tuning. In fact, I wish that was the only issue i had with it. Then again, its not nearly as important as what comes next.
For context, I've been a synthv producer for about a year, and I had vocaloid for about a week. I remember my first week of SynthV being a lot different. I'm ok in terms of adding effects, and changing phonemes, but the VOICES...they're a bit of a doozy.
So I started off using Nurse Robot, which is an AI voicebank. It took me longer to learn and mix than half of my synthv voicebanks....but it was still manageable. Then I went down to a v4 voicebank. Kagamine Rin (English). It was a new experience. Difficult even. But rewarding... Oliver from V3. same experience, but cuter.
And then....
v6 voicebank... IA Rebirth...
More specifically in English.
It's. Just. Awful.
It sounds so...cheap. Even mixing couldn't fix it. And I hate saying that because I liked her the most....
One notable example is when I type the lyric "fun".
if the song is too fast, or the note is too short, it sounds like "FOON."
so yeah...if anyone has tips, or would like to share their own experience, please do. For me personally, it isn't all "foon" and games. :/
