And im not just talking about tuning. In fact, I wish that was the only issue i had with it. Then again, its not nearly as important as what comes next.

For context, I've been a synthv producer for about a year, and I had vocaloid for about a week. I remember my first week of SynthV being a lot different. I'm ok in terms of adding effects, and changing phonemes,​ but the VOICES...they're a bit of a doozy.

So I started off using Nurse Robot, which is an AI voicebank. It took me longer to learn and mix than half of my synthv voicebanks....but it was still manageable. Then I went down to a v4 voicebank. Kagamine Rin (English). It was a new experience. Difficult even. But rewarding... Oliver from V3. same experience, but cuter.

And then....

v6 voicebank... IA Rebirth...

More specifically in English.

It's. Just. Awful.

It sounds so...cheap. Even mixing couldn't fix it. And I hate saying that because I liked her the most....

One notable example is when I type the lyric "fun".

if the song is too fast, or the note is too short, it sounds like "FOON."

so yeah...if anyone has tips, or would like to share their own experience, please do. For me personally, it isn't all "foon" and games. :/

ABOUT THE ARTIST

"garakuta kuraku" is truly a breath of fresh air in the vocaloid scene. similar to otoe, but their music is dark and real. I really enjoy it and I can feel the effort they put into it. The original voicebank used is Kuzuda Yone. I wish producers would use her more often for songs like this.

the voice is Otomachi Una SYNTHV. I had a preset saved with a mix of vocal modes, gender, and breathiness. i was just looking for an excuse to use it.

Since I can't find GalVCV lite, im trying out some plugins to try and convert CV to CVVC. Or am I better off just doing it by hand?

So, here's what happened.

On a random Tuesday (May 12th) i was just scrolling through my feed on the Threads app. And I find this guy making Vocaloid content with V6 Miku, Kasane Teto, and GUMI. And then I look at the username. Wow. Am I too bold to assume this timeline is healing? Ever since i've caught wind of the drama, I stayed away from it. But this time, it came to me. I guess the vibe really attracts the tribe. Somehow the algorithm brought me to some genuine, human-made content. Good on them.

Does anyone else know anything about this?

I downloaded 5000+ scl tuning files for free on some random ass site, and forgot where I got it from, so in order to prevent it from being lost, I am hosting it. For me, these files are useful because they work well with my Ableton Max MIDI effect (Microtuner) and I hope you find this useful as well.

What is this trying to say? I already tried translating from wingdings and webdings. I have no idea what this is or how to decode it

so far, my favorite voicebanks are the Raine twins, Defoko, RANG, and Hashiro (his utau voicebank is peak too, so it figures)

as for songs, I found some nice covers, and I'm currently looking for any diffsinger songs I'm missing out on. because the ones I've heard so far sound really, really good.
