Glideride Max 1 Tongue and Fit

Looking for input on the Glideride Max 1 as it is on heavy sale right now and looks interesting.

I have mild supination, high arches, and developing sciatica (old man starter pack). I was sized as a 10 by a local running store.

I have been wearing Gel Kayano Lite 2s in 10.5 and they fit well but are falling apart. I tried on the gel kinetic fluent in a 10.5 and it was humongous. The Cumulus 27 size 10 fit like a glove, and the Nimbus 28 was unbearably tight around the top of my foot in size 10 and only slightly better in 10.5.

So with that in mind, is the tongue on the Glideride more like the Cumulus or the Nimbus? Does it run short or TTS?

Unfortunately I can't find it locally to try on so any input would be greatly appreciated!

Next Asics (or other options) After Gel Kayano Lite 2

I've been using Kayano Lite 2s as my everyday sneakers for about 13 months but they are getting close to retirement. I've used them for walking, shopping, some dog park, infrequent trail walking and just generall use (but not running or sports)

What Asics model would be a good replacement? Or even an equivalent from another brand?

I did try out the Hoka Clifton 10 for a couple of weeks before they imploded, and my ankles and shins didn't love them. Not sure if it's just because I got used to the stability in the Kayanos or if it's something more permanent.

I got a crazy good deal on them ($50) and would love to stay under $75 if possible, though I know that may not be realistic.

Thank you!

Hoka Clifton 10 Starting To Peel After 2 Weeks? From Just Walking?

I picked up the Hoka Clifton 10s on April 29th (13 days ago) and have used them exclusively for casual walking only (maybe 1-4 miles a day), and did not use them on two of the days. I'm noticing the grip on the bottom of the sneakers are starting to show wear, and a large chunk has started to peel off.

Is this normal? This is my first pair of Hokas and it is pretty disappointing. I'm coming from a pair of Asics that didn't show any wear for months despite a pretty similar routine. Even my Brooks that I run in held up far longer and better than this.

Update: Happy to report that Hoka will honor the warranty with site credit. I'm curious to see if they will only cover the purchase price at Dick's (where I used a couple of coupons) or if it will cover a replacement pair. Anyone with experience with that?

Either way, good job by them!

We'd Be Lucky To Draft Acuff

Still very bummed about the results yesterday, but trying to muster some positivity.

If you think that Acuff's floor is Darius Garland and his ceiling is somewhere around Brunson/Donovan Mitchell, that is a no brainer at 6. In no other draft in recent memory can you realistically get someone like that at pick 6. I just hope Marks doesn't overthink it - we need a number 1, on ball option and after Peterson, Acuff is it.

It seems unlikely that the Clippers will draft Acuff to pair with Garland, but if he is taken, then it should be Wagler or Brown. Take the swing. I want no part of Burries whatsoever, and Flemings doesn't have the upside.

But of course they'll draft Karim Lopez or something ridiculous like that.

I am a Certified Knicks Hater® and it's just not a good time. Tuned into ESPNNY this morning (after avoiding it yesterday) and they were still slobbing the Knick knob. Even NBA podcasts are glazing them.

I really don't see them losing to any of the remaining ECF teams, which means another 3-4 weeks of this, and it's going to be miserable. Hopefully they do get trounced in the finals, but at that point anything can happen.

Any good non-sports podcast recommendations?
