Looking for ideas - AI and Tourism

Hi everyone! 👋 We’re currently exploring ideas on how we can apply **AI for social impact in the tourism sector**, and I’d love to tap into the group’s experience and ideas.
We’re from the Philippines, where tourism has huge potential given our many islands, diverse communities, and cultural and natural assets. From a Consulting perspective, we’re interested in exploring how AI could be used not just to boost tourism, but to create **meaningful community volunteer and social impact** as well.
Have any of you worked on or come across initiatives where AI has been applied to tourism for areas such as:
• supporting local/indigenous communities and small tourism businesses
• improving access to tourism opportunities and information
• promoting lesser-known destinations
• preserving local culture, heritage, or languages
• making tourism more sustainable
• helping local communities build digital/AI capabilities
Would really appreciate any examples, ideas, or initiatives from your markets that we could learn from or potentially adapt to the Philippine context. 😊

PRIORITIES. 👏

CORRUPTION IN BIRI ISLAND TOURISM

I recently went to Biri Island in Northern Samar, Philippines. I have been to many beautiful islands in the Philippines and I'm very much familiar with the usual mandated fees per province.

CORRUPTION #1:
In Biri Island, you CAN'T CONTACT YOUR OWN GUIDE. I was told by Municipality of Biri Tourism that if my contact is not yet the assigned guide for the day's roster, then I should pay the guide fee (P1200/person) for each guide which will be skipped.

Ex. If Guide "Mark" is number 10 in the roster, then I should pay the 9 other guides before him. The reason given by Biri Tourism office is to ensure equality among the guides.

CORRUPTION #2
They do not issue official receipt. They also have a mandatory service operator fee worth P624 per person on top of the P1000 habal-habal fee and P1200 guide fee. The service operator fee is forced when I arrived by the Tourism office. I contacted my own guide hence I dont understant what this service operator fee is for. Upon checking, the owner of this tour operations is the MAYOR HERSELF - Amelita Delos Reyes!

I'm sure this will fall into deaf ears. Is there anyone who has a contact to Raffy Tulfo?

RCBC Scam Call

I got a call from a certain supervisor from RCBC with number 09511530497. During the call, he asked if he said my full name including my middle name, address and contact details. He said someone attempted to transfer 300k worth of money from my RCBC credit card to GoTyme. He asked if I received any notification since it looks like a scam to them.

He told me he will proceed to block my card and said that they will be generating an IVR Code that I have to confirm. He also mentioned the cellphone number (Not mine) that is allegedly registered to my account who is making the transactions.

Minutes later, I received an OTP code from RCBC number. It's the same number sending me my bills and RCBC reminders. He asked me to dictate the code.

I didnt provide the right code but he was insisting for me to stay for the next 5 minutes or so.

I didnt have the time since I find it suspicious after I asked him to email me instead with all of the details of the potential unauthorized transaction. He was insisting to resolve it over the phone. I hanged up and never got an email from RCBC about this.

Is this a scam?

I watched Disclosure Day today at Bonifacio High Street. Di talaga natuturo ang good manners.

DIM: Apple iPad a16 11th gen

I plan to buy an Apple iPad so I can connect my MS Teams at work and I can bring it conveniently. My work is mostly outside of the office. I use my laptop sa house pero dahil ang daming nakakabit sa laptop ko, I plan na permanent ko na lang yung sa house. When I go out, meet clients and take MS Teams call and do light Ppt work, I plan to use the iPad because my work is always on the go.

I just dont know if I'm just wasting my money. My main goal is to connect my MS Teams, do some light PPT work and attend calls while I'm outside of my house.

I'm wishing to die by eating so much food and gain weight

I'm a breadwinner on my late 30s, single, no kids, no romantic interests. Just a family na walang pake, nanay na narcissist and 2 loving dogs.

I have hypochondria (medical-anxiety). Pero when I consulted my psychologist, natatakot ako magkasakit kasi alam ko walang mag-aalaga sakin pag nagkasakit ako.

Siguro mga 8 cups of rice yon.

I used to fear death.

About me:
Im a high performer at work.

I like travelling. I have been to 30+ countries. Solo travel karamihan. Ngayon wala na kong amor mag travel

I used to love painting.

I used to love arts and crafts

Wala nakakaappreciate sakin.

I was once at 60 kgs for my height. Normal bmi. Ngayon nasa 110 kgs na ko. Plano ko mamatay na. Yoko na.

How should someone with low investing knowledge approach long-term wealth building in the Philippines?

I’ve been reading through the FAQ and investment discussions here, but I’m still struggling to understand what a reasonable starting strategy looks like for someone who:
- Has limited knowledge of investing
- Doesn’t want to actively manage a portfolio
- Prefers a low-maintenance approach
- Is focused on long-term wealth building rather than quick returns

I’ve come across recommendations for MP2, digital banks, UITFs, mutual funds, index funds, and ETFs, but I’m having trouble understanding how people decide among these options.

For someone who is relatively risk-averse and prefers a “set and forget” approach, how would you think about allocating money across different investment vehicles?

What factors should I consider when deciding between:
Keeping funds in high-yield savings accounts
Investing in MP2

I’d appreciate hearing how experienced investors would approach building a simple, beginner-friendly investment strategy.

Strategy and Consulting

Any thoughts? Been trying to check Accenture thread pero parang wala atang balita about this line. Anyone from this thread who can tell me good and not-so-pleasant experiences? I'm seriously considering moving to Accenture kasi maganda naman ung offer compared to my current.

Kamusta naging buhay nila? Curious lang. Naging pulitiko din ba sila?

May kilala ako na great-great-great uncle si Apolinario Mabini. Ayun, matalino talaga yung lahi nila.

Luma yung bahay namin and yung 2nd floor namin, sibrang init sa hapon parang nasa sauna.

Insulator? Ano pa po pwede?
