Still some Gilead in Rita

When Rita asked Daisy if she had her period, she didn't use the words period or menstruating, but "are you fertile fruitful?" which is an odd way of asking and very Gilead.

edited to correct the word from fertile to fruitful.

Binged the whole series. My thoughts.

Sorry, i didn't like it. Everyone was saying: "If you loved Heated Rivalry you will love this." No, i didn't love it. Did i like it? Meh. It was cute.

First, I didn't think that the two main characters - Garrett and Hannah had much chemistry. Compared to the chemistry of Shane and Ilya, G&H were lukewarm. When I watched each episode of HR, I actually rewatched at least once more before the next episode. With OC i just moved on. Compared to the chemistry of Dean and Allie - it was present alot more.

Next, the backstories of abuse and r*p*. I know, i know, it's based on a book but i wish that the author or the tv series, whatever, used different conflicts instead of these two. It just it wasn't something I like to read or watch. I even skipped seasons and episodes of Outlander when they used those in their storylines.

Lastly, I did really really enjoy the conversation between Garrett and Dean about consent but it just fell through. In HR, during the one scene in ep 2, you see Ilya asking for consent or asking "is this ok?" "are you still ok?". In the scene with Garrett and Hannah, i didn't see anything like that. I really loved the idea of asking for consent. It's not done enough in romantic movies.

I did enjoy the music that was chosen. It was nice seeing Jalen Thomas Brooks in a supporting role even though i kept calling him Mateo! LOL. I probably will catch season 2 as background tv viewing.

I don't understand why the girl's father's do not have a say in who these girls marry. I can see the aunts making the choice but as a parent and head of the house, wouldn't the father have a say if the husband chosen was inappropriate. That's how it is in all patriarchal societies.

Hi.

Looking for M/M suggestions of either 2 straight men attracted to eachother or straight attractions to gay males.

I've read Puckboys already and 10 Ways to accidentally fall in love.

Any other good ones out there? Thanks in advance.

I got to say interesting documentary. It's hard to separate Terry the man to his Hulk persona. Where does one end and the other begin?

A few things that i found interesting is that as much as Terry wanted to retire, he didn't want the spotlight taken away from Hulk Hogan. It was certainly evident with what happened with Brett Hart. Brett went to shake his hand before Wrestlemania IX and Hogan ignored him. Terry's comment was "i don't remember that. I could have been drunk, i could have been high." Seriously? That is your reasoning? Part of the problem was also Vince McMahon. After the fail with trying to pass the torch and failing with Ultimate Warrior, they didn't want to take a chance with another character. And then as poetic justice, Vince turns on Terry.

I heard on a podcast that Terry passed on a role of Little John in Robin Hood Men in Tights to make Mr. Nanny. They didn't mention this in the doc.

They touched on his steroid use, the divorce and other parts of his life.

I don't understand why didn't he just pull a Jesse Ventura and move on to commentary and/or managing. He could have really shaped alot of careers and create new heroes.

As a fan of wrestling in the 80s, what happened in WWF it just puts a bad taste in my mouth and just shadows a fun part of my childhood. They really had great storylines back then. They built great rivalries. Too bad Terry/Hogan turned out to be such a jerk.
