Some new photos have surfaced from the investigation into the Simon Carman case, and they add a bit more context to what happened after Nong Cake disappeared.

From what I've been able to piece together, one of her friends actually went to Carman's apartment after Cake was reported missing (as seen in the first photo), seemingly trying to find out where she was. At that point, nobody knew her body had already been left several kilometres away inside a suitcase.

The photos also give a look inside Carman's apartment. It appears to have been in a pretty poor state, with clothes scattered around, numerous empty alcohol bottles visible, and even what looks like an open pocket knife on display.

Beyond health insurance, what protection do you have as an expat?

I've been thinking about this lately and I'm curious how other expats here in Thailand handle it. Most of us seem to have some form of basic health insurance, either through work or privately, but beyond that, have you actually thought about what would happen if something more serious came along?

For example, if you were diagnosed with a critical illness, couldn't work for a long period of time, or suddenly lost your income, would your current setup realistically be enough? I realised I've spent plenty of time thinking about savings, investments and retirement planning, but not much time thinking about the financial impact of a major health issue or being unable to earn for an extended period.

Do most of you just rely on your emergency fund and standard health insurance, or have you looked at things like critical illness cover, income protection, life insurance, or other forms of protection? I'd be interested to hear whether this is something other long term thailadn expats actively plan for or if it's one of those risks that's easy to put off thinking about until it becomes a reality?

What’s the better bundle choice here? Both are priced around the same price price $660

I’m looking to build my first sim racing rig, but can’t decide between these two :

Simagic Alpha EVO Spirt 9nm bundle or the Moza R9 bundle?

I FOMO’d into buying SPCX on Friday and now I’m already 10% down. Should I hold, or sell before it crashes more?

STRC? Just another one of Michael Saylor’s scams. He promised a $100 target price, yet holders getting diluted 😆

HITI ( High Tide) Growth Is Accelerating Again (+30% YoY) While Profitability Hits New Highs

High Tide’s bull case is getting stronger because this quarter showed more than revenue growth. Q2 FY2026 delivered record revenue of C$179.3M, record Adjusted EBITDA of C$13.9M, margin expansion, positive net income, and positive free cash flow. That is the kind of mix that usually matters most for rerating a stock: growth plus operating leverage plus better balance-sheet flexibility. The new C$40M BMO credit approval also lowers financing risk and gives the company more room to keep compounding

New engine needed?

2014 VW Jetta S 2.0l CBPA.
Car died on the way back home and would not start again. Car engine was making sounds like a helicopter and then after about 30 minutes (I was driving on the highway at a steady 60mph trying to get back) the engine made a clunk sound and then was limping back until it stopped. Checking for codes there was p0304 and p0420 (p0420 has always been on this car). I charged the battery and changed the spark plug but that didn’t work. Turing the key to accessory works but trying to start the engine doesn’t even make a peep, the dashboard lights + headlights don’t dim either when trying to start the engine. The old spark plug appears to have made contact with something as the tip is smushed. I’m guessing that there was a catastrophic engine failure and I need a new engine. But I wanted to ask if there were any more tests I could do to start it up again or is there not point it trying? Thanks in advance
