Anyone here go to Pure Family Fitness in North Ocean City?

Does anyone here go to pure family fitness in North Ocean City? I know it is not a very large gym, but I am thinking of joining because it is within walking distance of my condo. If you are a member, do you like it?

Any Americans Traveling in the USA as Nomads or Slowmads?

My wife and are currently traveling all over the U.S. and working remotely while doing it. Our travels are primarily focused in the U.S. because work and family constraints make it difficult for us to leave the country for long periods of time.

We primarily stay in each location for at least a month, and that allows us to really get to know a place, meet new friends, and travel at a slower and less-hectic pace, something we really enjoy.

We drive to each new destination in our SUV and rent AirBnB's or other home options. We join the local gym, hang out where the locals do, see the local sights, and do our best to fit in rather than act like tourists. So far this has worked out for us and we have benefited from it.

Both us have learned so much about this lifestyle and are still learning as we go. We had to figure out solutions to issues such as medical insurance, doctor's visits, income tax requirements, finding a new gym, finding suitable accommodations in each location, meeting new friends, choosing the next location to travel to, researching and making sure our home rental location is safe, etc.

We see ourselves living this way for quite a while before we decide if we want to settle down. Right now we are living a wonderful adventure and we are very grateful. Our friends used to think we are crazy, but now they admit that they admire our lifestyle.

Two questions, please:

  1. Are there any others who are living like us? We would love to chat and exchange notes.
  2. We are contemplating starting a YouTube channel in order to document our experiences and to help others wanting to do what we are doing. Is this something that might interest you?

Tulsi for Gum Health: What the Evidence Actually Says

Tulsi, also known as holy basil, is a traditional herb that has been studied for oral health because of its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. For gum disease, the most interesting research is not on drinking tulsi tea, but on tulsi used as a mouthwash, toothpaste ingredient, or professional local application.

So what does the evidence show?

A randomized clinical trial found that an Ocimum sanctum tulsi mouthrinse helped reduce plaque, gum inflammation, and gingival bleeding over 15 to 30 days. In that study, tulsi performed similarly to chlorhexidine, a common dental mouthwash. That does not mean tulsi is “as proven” as chlorhexidine overall, but it does suggest tulsi may have real potential as a natural support for gingivitis.

Another clinical study compared tulsi, aloe vera, and chlorhexidine mouthwashes after scaling. After 30 days, all three groups showed improvement in plaque, gum inflammation, and bleeding scores. Again, this suggests tulsi may be useful as an added support, especially for people looking for herbal oral-care options.

Lab research also shows that tulsi extract can inhibit some periodontal bacteria, including Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, a bacterium linked with aggressive forms of periodontal disease. But this was an in vitro study, meaning it was done in a lab, not inside the mouth of a real patient. Lab results are promising, but they do not always translate perfectly to real-life gum disease.

There is also early research looking at tulsi as a professional local drug-delivery adjunct to scaling and root planing. One study found that 2% tulsi used locally showed promising results for reducing gingival bleeding and inflammation, but the authors also noted that longer-term studies are needed.

The simple takeaway:

Tulsi looks promising for gum health, especially for reducing plaque, bleeding, and gingival inflammation. The evidence is encouraging, but still early. It should be viewed as a supportive natural tool, not a replacement for brushing, flossing, water flossing, professional cleanings, scaling and root planing, or periodontal care when needed.

How to use it at home:

You can drink tulsi tea as part of an overall anti-inflammatory lifestyle, or use cooled tulsi tea as a gentle mouth rinse. Swish for 30 to 60 seconds, then spit it out. Just remember that homemade tea is not the same as the standardized tulsi mouthwashes used in clinical studies.

Safety note:

Tulsi is generally safe for many people in normal food or tea amounts, but people who are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, breastfeeding, taking blood thinners, taking diabetes medication, preparing for surgery, or dealing with thyroid issues should check with a healthcare professional before using tulsi regularly or in supplement form.

Bottom line: Tulsi is one of the more interesting herbs for gum health. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory potential, and early clinical research suggests it may help reduce plaque and gingival inflammation. But it works best as part of a complete gum-care routine, not as a standalone cure.

Does Your Spouse or Partner Work Out With You? Or Do You Wish He or She Did?

I am curious... how many of you work out consistently with your partner, and how many of you wish that your partner would work out with you?

My wife and I work out together daily and hold each other accountable. I feel that this makes it easier to stick with exercising regularly.

I am curious to find out how many of you have no website for your restaurant. If you do not have one, why not? Do you rely on social media instead? I notice that quite a few restaurants do not have a website.

Does Anyone Else Send a "Welcome to the Neighborhood" Info Kit to the New Home Owner?

I am curious.... does anyone email a "welcome to the neighborhood" info packet to new home owners you helped? This kit contains info on local restaurants, the closest hospitals, the nearest gyms, the location of the closest post office, Walmart, pharmacy, grocery stores, the local farmer's market, gas stations, etc.

Something printable with your realtor logo and contact info would be ideal so that they remember you and retain your contact info. The info kit should be printable so they can put it on their fridge or file it away. I would also include a QR code with your contact info that they can scan.

And rather than a generic info sheet for the city that the new home owner's home is located in, it should be relative to the new home address, complete with distances to each location. That show that it is customized for them and not just generic. It makes someone feel special.

This same info kit could also be given away free to potential buyers coming to visit a home you list. It can be a handout given out at an open house, or a lead magnet that can be used to get someone's email address and the info can be emailed to them.
