Empire of Sin is basically LOG before LOG—except the characters are working adults instead of college students. It’s a mafia‑elite couple story: Knox Van Doren (Teal and Elsa’s brother from Royal Elite) and Anastasia Sokolov (Rai’s cousin from the Throne Duet).

Because of that, they should have had some role or at least a mention in LOG, since they’re literally the bridge between the elites and the mafia. At the very least, some elites and some mafia members should have met at Knox and Ana’s wedding. So in LOG, the adults should feel familiar with the names or at least recognize the other side.

But the series acts like the Empire of Sin never happened and that this is the first time the elites and mafia are meeting. It’s strange that Rai doesn’t know who Elsa and Teal are, and that Elsa and Teal have no knowledge of Rai, even though their brother and Rai’s cousin are married. That means they must have met at the wedding—yet the series ignores it completely.

Even in GOR or GOF, when Brandon and Landon enter the picture, neither Rai nor Kyle ever mention that they belong to the same circle as Rai’s cousin-in-law.

And while Adrian and Aiden not meeting at the wedding is strange, it’s still possible. Adrian was going through a lot with Lia at the time, so the Pakhan might have excused him from attending. That part I can understand.

What I don’t understand is why Adrian never mentions knowing Creighton’s uncle. Knox meets him in Empire of Sin, and Adrian—being the Obshchak—would have run a background check on him to know what circle he belongs to. But in GOP or GOW, Adrian never mentions it, not even in his inner monologue. That’s weird because he pulls up all the info on Cecily in GOW and mentions the circle Xander and Kim belong to and even adds that Aiden belongs to it—yet he never mentions Knox, even though Knox is part of that same circle.

Adrian is the strategist and the mind of the entire Bratva, so overlooking a detail like that feels off.

Aiden isn’t any better. At the end of Empire of Sin, Anastasia is no longer “Jane,” and the entire Steel family knows she’s Anastasia—which means they must know at least something about her mafia ties. But in GOP, Aiden never mentions any of that to anyone, not even in his own POV. And Elsa acts like it’s her first time meeting a mafia princess when she’s literally friends with the daughter of the former Pakhan of the same Bratva Annika is from.

For a second‑gen series, it’s strange that Reina barely mentions anyone from the Empire series. She only references Nicole and Dan in GOF, and that’s it.

For example, Knox should have pulled his funding from V Corp after Creighton was shot, because in Empire of Sin he invests his inheritance—one‑third of Steel Corporation—since he’s Elsa’s brother and Creighton’s uncle.

On top of that, if Knox and Ana’s child had appeared in LOG, the series would have been more entertaining and complex. You’d have a character connected to both the elites and the Heathens—someone who never fully belongs to either side, since they would be third cousins with Mia, Maya, Gareth, Nikolai, and Killian (through their mothers’ side), and first cousins with Eli, Landon, and Creighton (through their father’s side).

Reina mentions all other connections and events from previous books or first‑gen books (like Aiden and Asher being friends or the favor Jonathan owes Kyle), but she never mentions this, which is strange because it leaves a noticeable plot hole. No one talks about it.

Yeah, he is not deep and doesn't have a depth as a character. Yeah, he doesn't have anything outside of being Peter's BFF, but it was nice to see Peter have a reliable, loyal, and honest friend for a change who won't try to kill him, and yeah, Harry is Peter's BFF in the comics, but currently in the comics it's not Harry; it's Randy Robertson. Harry has been dead for over 30 years (post-OMD was a clone), and comic accuracy doesn't equal good.

They look gross and disgusting; they make me want to throw up, and the fact that there are people that watch them and I have a friend that watches them makes it worse.
