Dungeon Crawler Carl featured in last month's Production Weekly issue
I just noticed this in Produciton Weekly.
...Could this be a sign that the DCC show is in pre-production or something? Maybe filming?
I dunno

Disney has planned to include more roaming characters in the parks, and I see one of the many characters in the company’s portfolio that has potential to be one: XR from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command!
Think about it: there’s been some roaming animatronics by WDI that can roll like the droids and H.E.R.B.I.E., and there could be some character that the group could do something new with!
This guy can roll and extend his arms just like in the show.
He’s also a good fit in Tomorrowland where Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is at.
I see him being like Douglas Fir but with arms, and a face for a puppeteer to operate so he can talk to guests.
Unfortunately, Disney has hardly cared about the Buzz Lightyear TV series that the director of Toy Story did not like….
Until the acknowledgment for the Toy Story Retro Roundup game!
And the show better be added to Disney+ by the game’s release…
So tell me, would you be interested in seeing an XR animatronic?
After hearing what Jeff Polk said about live entertainment at Universal Epic Universe, I sensed that it could be referring to Celestial Park, and my hope could be starting to break.
I'm starting to believe that the roaming Celestians may never come back anytime soon as they were considered weak, especially the cut shows at the Hemisphere Stage.
I don't even know why, either because of the writer(s)'s experience in entertainment, or(sorry if I'm being delusional, but...) me listening to a song from a mediocre movie that reminds me of Celestial Park.
While the way of experiencing the story is now by guests talking to the team members, I find it not enough, and the entertainment now being replaced with stuff that while are fine to most people, doesn't contribute to the story is awkward.
I mean, is the Celestial Park lore weak?
Does Universal care about originality?
At least all we have for now is Captain Cacao, but in my opinion, Maya of the Skies should've came along with her.
So this could be a "never say never" type of hope that Universal does somehow care about Celestial Park and could still bring back the roaming characters, bring in the known characters at some point.
All I want is to SEE what Vincent Various, Major Lolli, and many more of the characters look like.
In the end, I'm concerned about the true fate of the Celestians, and I don't know who to blame for the chaos: either me, or the higher-ups...
Three years ago, I ranted on Gracie’s Corner for not crediting the animation workers.
Ever since I learned about The Animation Guild and the #NewDeal4Animation thing, I started to have a heart for the people that work on cartoons.
…ESPECIALLY those that have odd animation.
Gracie’s Corner is one of those.
Seeing the animation being highly aimed for kids was something, but what baffled me was the fact that the animators weren’t credited for their work.
All I wanted to do is see their’ portfolio and see what kind of work they made and their passion for animation.
So I got loud in my now-deleted post saying that the animators should’ve been paid fairly and credited for their work, and Arlene Gordon-Hollingsworth, daughter of Gracie responded to me.
And I’ve learned what I never knew about this.
Her daughter wrote the music, Gracie’s Corner is a family owned channel, and the animator was paid fairly.
But what caught my eye was the reason why there were no credits for the videos: it’s because “it would negatively impact the algorithm”.
I have no idea what she meant by this, but the credits could’ve been in the description instead.
So this could be a hint why studios don’t credit their workers, especially(forgive me for being delusional)most of those who use AI in their posts.
The thing is, I just never knew much about the animation workers and just wanted them to be acknowledged by the makers by name.
I also wanted to talk to them on how their experience was like on the project.
Basically, I have a deep curiosity on the people behind YouTube Kids animation projects(ESPECIALLY the IMFAMOUS content farms), as I imagine that they have a somewhat passion for art.
But I still just wish that kids could notice the names of the people and artists behind the projects so that animation isn’t just stuff moving images, because I believe that kids can be inspired by the makers, and become animators someday.
And as Vailskibum once said:
“Acknowledge your artists. Because without them, you wouldn’t even have a movie.”
(As taken from my YouTube community post)
What Walt said goes to show that he believed in the fact that animation is for everyone.
Yet Disney Junior has been making CGI-animated, overstimulating teamwork-saving-the-day slop shows and other shows with bleh storytelling and uninspired premises that teens and grown-ups find hard watching ever since Alyssa Sapire became head of the network.
Back in the 2010, there were shows with lore and great storytelling that felt fun for big kids to watch and for grown-ups who are fans of animation to be excited at, such as Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Sofia the First, Elena of Avalor, Mission Force One, and The Lion Guard(the show that changed the game for preschool animation and has a big fanbase).
There was also Whisker Haven, a cute non-stimulating show.
And now Disney Jr shows today feel like a lost cause.
Animation can't be treated as it's only something that kids would look at; we need characters with more depth, personality, and development!
We need menacing, irredeemable villains!
We need shows while are aimed at preschoolers, can be praised by people of ALL AGES!
ANIMATION IS FOR EVERYONE!
Don't just make baby preschool shows, instead make EVERYONE PRESCHOOL SHOWS...
FOREVER!!!
In episodes of preschool shows, there’s a plot where a villain starts causing trouble, the heroes stop their plan, they cry over their defeat, and then they redeem themselves.
This happens in Bubble Guppies, Blaze and the Monster Machines, and an episode with Esme and Roy.
And to describe this kind of trope in one word, it’s UNINSPIRED.
I mean, why did Jonny Belt and Robert Skull had to start some trope that’s…
Just so uncreative?
What’s with the misunderstood villains, especially the Nick Jr. ones?
Is it because they believe that everybody can change?
Is it so that they can cater to preschoolers only?
Are they saying that adults can’t enjoy animation?
ANIMATION IS FOR EVERYONE!
I wish there were more irredeemable villains with more depth…
Don’t you?
I wish Jonny Belt could tell me about this…

There could be a new teaser for Disney and Coly's project at midnight...!
"If you keep on beliving, the dream that you wish will come true..."
A few months ago, I remember discovering some photos during shooting for the Doozie’s Doghouse series at BestPrompting.
It is in an article by hiresully telling people on how he was prompting the Gabby’s Dollhouse spin-off.
So… perhaps we could get news for this at Annecy next week?
I wonder if Disney could make some game based on the Dragon Striker series with an original story, and a system with a feel of Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road and some Dragon Ball games...
I was HOOKED on the Gorotama scenes, and I sense they have video game potential.
Oh, and believe it or not, Sylvain and the crew are thinking about having a Dragon Striker game!
Would you like to have something like this?
Didn’t see that one coming…
But we’re getting a Lorecast for a new set!
But this time, it’ll be Japanese.
Oh, and Disney Koe no Ojisama singer Akira Takano will be guest starring too.
Hopefully we’ll be getting some new exciting cards, as well as new sets!
This is an original song by Frozen songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez for the show A Celebration in Arendelle at World of Frozen in Disneyland Paris' Disney Adventure World.
And boy this song shows that Kristen and Robert never lost sight of their musical vibe!
The song has Kristen Bell and Josh Gad's characters, Anna and Olaf singing in English, while Elsa and Kristoff sing in French.
This song is pretty underrated, I must say.
So... you think you could give it a listen?
Let me tell ya, I don’t know if I remember Wu-Tang, but seeing the trailer for an RPG inspired by a beloved band with SPIDER-VERSE-Y ANIMATION made me want to say “SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!”.
And I have been starting to get patient ever since.
I haven’t heard any news, other than that the trailer was played at Wu-Tang’s final tour, which could be a sign that the game is still alive despite the many layoffs at Brass Lion Entertainment(Gameplay director Michael Surya, you deserved better and I hope that the 2.5D animation doesn’t get removed…).
So now it’s Summer Games Fest week, and I’m hoping we get to hear new stuff for the game this Friday, or two days later after that.
But with us hearing NOTHING from the RZA and Ghostface Killah’s Angel of Dust movie(which RotD is a tie-in game to that), I feel worried about this.
Luckily, I did see BRE replying to someone on their YouTube post and mentioned that there might be more news for the game at Gamescom this year.
So….
Anyone heard any rumors or other stuff for the game?
Dang, no wonder they were childish…
It’s as if the travelers that saw this early believe they were written by AI…
And now, Universal regrets what they accepted.
I think songwriter Johnny J. Johnston has some explaining to do…
IT’S BEEN 3,000 YEARS…
AND WE’RE FINALLY GETTING CAPTAIN CACAO!!!
But wait, what about his true friend, Maya of the Skies?
What’s Captain Cacao without her?
Cause I believe that won’t make any sense.
No seriously, I’m glad we’re getting Captain Cacao, but what about the other Celestians?
I really wish that Maya would be here with him, alongside Vincent Various….
But what if Universal is taking things one step at a time?
If Captain Cacao gets SUPER popular during his true first day at Celestial Park on Friday, then maybe, JUST MAYBE, they’ll add Maya, then Various, then more of the Celestians!
Or what if Epic’s 1st anniversary celebration will be special with lots of entertainment?
Basically, Captain Cacao’s appearance in Celestial, while is a step in the right direction, is just not enough to me.
But for now, we might as well be happy for what we have.
I wish you could come to Celestial on Epic’s first anniversary, Vincent and Maya…
Although I won’t be appearing in person…
From Disney, and the makers of Stand My Heroes, On Air!, and Promise of Wizard comes a brand new mobile game 100 years in the making…
DISNEY SPARKLINK STARS!
Possibly an alternative to Twisted Wonderland.
Pretty curiousited(curious and excited)about this, aren’t you?
The game will come out in January 2027, so we’ll be seeing more information real soon!
TRAVELERS, WE HAVE NEVER BEEN SO BACK!
BY POPULAR DEMAND, THE BELOVED BEAR OF THE COSMOS, CAPTAIN CACAO IS FINALLY GETTING A MEET AND GREET!!!
But I hope the other Celestians become walkaround characters as well, cause what's Captain Cacao without Maya?
Nevertheless, I'M SO GLAD THAT UNIVERSAL FINALLY LISTENED!
I guess getting loud does solve your problems after all.
I just discovered this story on the Universal Orlando Team Members’ Instagram account.
And it looks like the Your Park After Dark event will be the beginning of the 1-year anniversary celebration for Epic Universe!
Who knows what the team members will expect tomorrow night?
Who knows what us travelers will expect this Friday?!
Before I see the movie, I read the books of Dog Man, The Wild Robot, How To Train Your Dragon, The Body, Nimona, Matilda, Wicked, Scott Pilgrim, and possibly many others.
I do this so I can get to know the worlds better, and be amazed on how the directors sometimes do what the books did.
But I was wondering if you do you.
Cause I sometimes know that some adaptations could be good for those that haven’t seen the source material, and considering checking it out.
So tell me, what do you do when it comes to adaptations of a movie? Do you see the book first, or watch the movie first?
Seeing Wild About Safety return wasn't on my 2026 bingo card.
But I was wondering if Disney could do SO MUCH MORE than just illustrations...
like new Safety Smart shorts, done by Disney Animation!
The traditional 2D animation would be kept, Eric Goldberg, Michael Surrey, and Tony Bancroft could direct the new shorts, and Ernie Sabella and Bruce Lanoil can reprise their roles as Timon and Pumbaa!
And Jared Bush saying that 2D animation will return to the studio could bring me hope that there's a chance they may make this!
...or not.
What do you think?
