Can I ask seller to drop the price?

There is an old fashioned water tank in a house I am purchasing. I will need to switch it for a modern combi boiler. Can I ask them to drop the price by £2000 to accommodate this?

Is my mortgage adviser trying to scam me to get their commission?

I am on a 2 year fix. It is ending in September. I have spoken to my bank and have locked in a 2 year fix to commence when the current one ends in September. I got a better rate than I am currently on.

I am moving home in November. I am porting my mortgage. Mortgage adviser has told me they can't start the mortgage application until I move onto the next two year fix in September. I am fine with this as I am not looking to move until November or later.

Mortgage adviser advised me to move onto a tracker mortgage now and then apply to port the mortgage now. They said the pros are that I will pay slightly less per month and I won't have to pay an early repayment fee.

I don't quite understand. A tracker may get me a cheaper deal initially, but if the bank of England base rate rises, my monthly payments will increase. I understand it is an unpredictable time at the moment due to the war, so unsure why the mortgage adviser would recommend this. Plus this will only be until I port so it is very short term.

I am unsure why they are threatening an early repayment fee. Why would I have to pay an early repayment fee? I am porting.

Are they just trying to switch me so they can get their commission or am I missing something? I don't feel they have my best interests at heart.

Rule for amount of spices to add? Please help 🙏🏽 😩

Hello,

Is there a rule for how much spices to add to food? I never know how much to add, or if it is too much or too little.

For example, I make 400g beef mince, is there a rule like 1 tsp per 100g of meat?

If I am using several spices, does it all have to add up to 1 tsp per 100g meat, or is it 1 tsp of each spice e.g 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp turmeric or 0.5 tsp of each?

My issue is that I cannot taste test until the meat is cooked, by which point I don't think I can add more spices. Don't you have to add them at the very beginning?

Advice very much appreciated.

One political party for all?

Why don't we have one government where politicians work together to improve services and quality of life for ALL people, rather than the pantomime we currently have?

Now that I am an adult, I can see that the separate parties arguing and mocking eachother in parliament is just a distraction and makes for good headlines in MSM and division between classes, but nothing else.

We pay these people to improve our lives but I have never seen them sit down and discuss solutions seriously like you and I would in the workplace.

Does this strike anyone else as very odd?

Just to clarify: I understand that different people want/need different things. I am talking about basic things like improving healthcare, public transport, employment, green spaces, housing, nutrition, physical activity, work life balance etc. These are all things that are beneficial to everyone, no matter what their background. Right?

I am quitting work at 50. I have a progressive chronic health condition and will be fully disabled by 50. I will have paid off my mortgage but then. Will I be able to claim benefits to cover my council tax and bills?

I am done! I am fed up with a partner of 20 years who blames me for everything. I get told on a daily basis I should have done this, should have said that, should have reminded them of the thing they forgot etc. I am sick of it.

When I tell them to stop saying this to me, they continue to say it is my fault and if I don't walk away, it turns into an argument.

How can I make this person understand that they really need to stop saying this to me?

My parents gave a house to my sibling. They didn't give anything to me.

The sibling was able to build wealth by purchasing another property which they rent out.

The sibling doesn't have to work. I am disabled and would prefer not to struggle to work, but I have to work to pay a mortgage and bills.

Do you think this is fair parenting?

After two weeks off work, I don't want to go back to work. I am tired of being a slave for a pittance to enable a very moderate struggle lifestyle. It's not worth it.

I find it very difficult, sometimes impossible, to ignore it when my partner makes stupid statements or behaves in an annoying way. When I say something, it angers/upsets them. I don't want to anger / upset them, but it is so difficult to bite my tongue. Can you offer some advice on how to ignore them without it being detrimental to my own peace / mental health. Thank you.

I have seen a house in a nice area. Tell me, are house prices based heavily on the area they are in? Because this house is small, cramped, in need of some tlc, but the area is absolutely beautiful. I would love to live in that area but feel like the house isn't worth the money that is being asked.

I'm not going to post the link, but when I say it needs tlc, it is multiple minor issues incl. carpets need changing throughout, water tank needs to be replaced with combi boiler, walls need to be painted, thorough clean, 1 new bathroom replacement.

This is before the survey which may pick up other issues which aren't visible.

Advice appreciated.

Thank you in advance 🤗

My partner constantly complains. I am fed up. From morning to night they complain about their looks, their health, their flat, what's on the TV, spiders in the flat, the weather, the noisy neighbours, their job, the cost of food items etc.

The thing is, their life is good and many would be jealous and envious.

I can't bear it anymore. It's bringing my mood down as I am a very positive and optimistic person who always tries to look on the bright side. When I try to make them look at the positives, I get told off!

Please help.
