What do you think about Victorian age mage?

I know some people don’t like it as it makes the ascension war too black and white. Like even some anti technocracy complain the book is too anti technocracy coded. What do you think?

Out of all the mage historical games: Sorceor’s crusade is my favorite

As it fits very well with the chaotic magical vibe mage always has. As well as the conflict of the ascension war being in its early stages during the 1400s-1600s .

Also scourge is my favorite paradox system as it feels like wild magic surge from dnd

Backlash, scourge, paradox. Which is your favorite?

For me it’s the scourge as it strikes a good middle ground of reining in your players yet not completely being heavy handed as paradox. What do you think is the best magical consequence system?

Have you used different paradox rules for modern mage games?

Like I am toying with the idea of using the scourge rules from sorceors crusade and making a more chaotic form of paradox which when backlashes occur has a chance of helping you, harming you, or something neutral. How have you guys changed the paradox rules?
