Do supervisors have control over every officer in the company?

Had a weird encounter with a site supervisor at another site. walked into the store just to purchase lunch and already he is pressing me about my uniform and my buissness there. my beret was on my shoulder strap and he told me im suppose to wear it at all times at his site i told him im not at my site so im keeping it off to avoid heat stroke. he then asked me what im doing there told him im here to get lunch and it was closer than walking 2km

Just because I back talked he wants to write me up for it.

Im not sure if i will get in trouble but HR has never taken my side when things seemed unjust

No phone rule has suddenly gotten old.

Client at site I work has a strict no phone policy any officer seen with a phone will be removed at once manager went along with it and asked us to comply. the only person allowed to have a phone would be the supervisor as he is required to send the log times for all officers on shift.

Not even a full month passed and the duty managers were starting to get suspicious of our supervisor who always arrived 4 hours late and sent the times but lies on the log book and said he arrived at 7 but couldnt send the times because the shift was busy.

I was called by the duty manager and asked to send the times instead(since im always the first to arrive), client saw me answer my phone and told me to put it away i explained it is the office and they want the times now client told me to wait for the supervisor, told him the supervisor is late

while all that is going on the duty manager overheard the conversation and made arrangements. Accounts manager came by before 11, saw the supervisor late and in plain clothes, had a talk with the client.

Turns out the supervisor has been lying to the client about our company rules and shift times and the reason nobody reported it was because officers were not allowed to use phones.

Now the phone rule has been abolished.

Saying "other people have it worse" feels kind of rude.

I normally dont share my problems with friends for a number of reasons but when I do share something im always hit with "Other people (mainly them) have it worse than you".not only do they downplay it they try to make it seem like it is no big deal until they themselves go through it.

For example years ago when I was unemployed and was botherd by it and was paranoid about the future my friends would downplay it by saying the classic line how others have it worse and at that time their biggest issue was not having a gf as yet.

Now I have a job while they are still unemployed. whenever i share a bad day about work they again hit with the line because now their biggest issue is seeking employment.

Personally I will never say or claim I have it worse because at the end of the day we all go through stuff that affect us badly and trying to downplay other people's personal problems just seems rude

AIO a coworker kept bringing up my one mistake?

Been working this job for two years where I had to write down vehicle info coming in and out of the yard, had one bad day where I was told I missed one truck and for some reason it became a big deal. I was told by a coworker that I was to never work the yard ever again for that one mistake because our boss said so

Ever since the incident the coworker would bring up my mistake over and over, months would pass and he would remind me constantly. It wasn't until one of the hire ups realised I stopped working the yard they asked why, when I explain they told me that there was no truck that day for the yard.

Now whenever i get to work the yard again the coworker tends to tell me I have improved and what bothers me is I i was fine before and had one slip up now things are back to normal and suddenly i "improved" what is he trying to imply?

AIO for insulting a work friend because they got greedy?

Got my friend a job working alongside me. he said he was going to be 6 hours late and if I can work his shift until he got there, I did just that since i want the overtime.

next thing I know he comes to work demanding I give him my wages for the overtime I worked because it was his shift, I thought he was joking but he wanted me to reach in my wallet and give him the $200. I told him no because i already gave up my time but he insisted, our coworkers were watching on and saying how he is in the right so I gave him the money and told him next time he needs a favor to go f himself. before I left I told him maybe that explains all his relationships failing since he wants to be greedy and unempathetic.

He got mad and reported me to HR, they had us seperated.

Security Consultants are crazy

Nightshift at this home for children, I was suppose to guard this hallway. was approached by the buildings security consultant and asked to go and check on another guard in the second building because they were not reciving any status report. (At that site they expect officers to send a whatsapp message every two hours). I told the consultant I cant leave my post unless my supervisor holds on for me, consultant said they will hold on.

Walked over to building 2 and found the other officer struggling because they have no mobile data (yes they expect officers to buy their own mobile plan to send status). spent about 5 minutes trying to fix the issue

Supervisor and the consultant came after me, consultant apparently accused me of "abandoning post" and tried to threathen me with a write up. I reminded him that he sent me to check up on an officer.

what is even going through these peoples minds to make other people life hell

Still upset about being blacklisted for something stupid

I've been dwelling too much of my last site from two months ago. what happend was the staff supervisor gave me instructions to tell folks to remove their hats when entering the store. obviously not everyone will listen and the supervisor complained to his boss i was sent to HR for it

HR insists I was to be more aggressive and tell people to leave if they dont comply. well i did that the and it caused a scene the supervisor bragged to me he had a degree in psychology and told me i had personal issues, I reminded him that everytime someone doesnt listen to me with the rule he takes out his aggression on me after that he tried to send me home I told him let me contact my boss first but supervisor kept pressing me to leave.

I got on to my boss and my boss wanted to talk to the supervisor but was refused because supervisor has an ego. I was picked up and sent to another location. HR wrote me up for that.

Its been two months and what has me upset now is the guy basically gets away with his nonsense and he treats officers like his personal workers. i keep trying to convince myself my new post is better (i just have to be present) while the said guy has to do manual labor himself

How do people not care if they are terrible?

I have this problem where I dwell on past mistakes and beat myself up If I am a bad person or not.

whats odd to me i've met people who do bad things and still think they were justified, they live their lives normally unbotherd by who they hurt or whose lives they ruin

what is the secret?

Does mangement do anything to stop toxic staff members?

I noticed that a client's staff member has a bad habit of lying on officers and getting them into trouble, i dont know what they hope to gain or what not but company seems to be clueless and just go along with it.

we had a good supervisor on location but she was blacklisted because the staff member claimed the supervisor cursed her. there is another good officer but she lied and said he was smelling horrible when no one else smelled anything and it got him removed she even lied on me and said I was 6 hours late when I was on site early, the list goes on.

what i wanna know is does management ever notice a pattern and act on it because HR will never let officers explain themselves or believe any report they wrote just punish.

AIO my friend's behavior?

My friend group consist of gamers and for a time almost last year we were all in a steam family with me being the biggest contributor.

I ended up panicing and revoking the steam family due to the feeling that those friends were treating me badly and naturally I didnt like sharing anything with people who treat me terrible.

After the incident they all told me they will never join the steam family again and I said okay if they change their mind its there.

Months later we were all good and been getting along fine but for some odd reason they would rarely mention the steam family incident. One of our friends is planning on getting a PC and the others would tell him when he gets it we will all share games but not with me,I will understand if they are saying that if they are still upset but they dont seem to care they arent the type to let trivial matters get to them.

Dont get wrong I will still share with them if they wanted but they seem to only be telling me these things as if it would hurt me, from past issues if we let matters dwell for two long they eventually snap.

How does society expect emotions to work?

Imagine youre a hyper active person youre polite, you consider other people's emotions before your own and you dont take anything serious in order to safeguard your peace. Somehow being postive is bad to most people who belive you should be miserable so they try to ruin your life and push you to the edge until you boil over and explode now suddenly youre worse than hitler because you yell when youre angry or you become physical.

What does society want?

Guy from another site thinks he is the boss of us

Worked at the Hospital's south entrance recently my task was to not let any car in or out through that entrance before 7am. Few cars tried to enter claiming they had an emergency and can't drive around to the north entrance.

Things got really funny around 6:22am when a familiar face showed up, a staff member at another site i previously worked at wanted to drive through the south entrance he kept beeping his horn for me to open the barricade for him.

He recognized me and instantly became "friendly". I explained to him while showing him the sign that he needs to use the north entrace, he begged me to give him a pass claiming if i do as he said he will ask his boss to unblacklist me. I told him no and suggested he use the north entrance, he got upset and started giving me the lecture how I work for him and insurbordination is a serious offence and how he will get me fired.

Coworker overheard him, stepped in and explain the same things I already explained.

Him: "You both work for me I will report you"

Coworker: "We work for (company name) they supply officers to your company"

Him: "I want your badge numbers"

Coworker: "Well if we was working for you, you wont be needing to ask for that"

The guy got pissed drove off, few minutes later our shift supervisor drove to our booth and asked us about the incident because the guy complained to the north gate, supervisor just laughed and told me to not pay him any mind (clearly just seeing him again botherd me deeply)

Is this a good reason for leaving or can It get better?

Applied to work for some other companies and im at that stage where I feel like im making a bad move all because my reasons seem silly.

  1. I was lied on and nobody botherd to investigate, making HR write me up over said lie

  2. a supervisor struck me in the head causing injury so I got a warning letter and a week suspension

  3. client staff member tried to put me in trouble so i stood my ground against him and the company claimed i brought them into disrepute

I dont want to leave this company then end up somewhere way worse.

Today I learned an officer with 5 years of service was charged a weeks worth of wages all because he was asked by a client's staff member to pack fridges, pump gas for customers and carry boxes.

Now i know this staff member they always used ask me to do the same thing I always say no because doing what they ask makes them think they own you. So while you're being punished because of them they will always sit back and laugh to themselves knowing they just screwed you over while no consequences fall on them
