The Murph is literally dogshit. They had a complete opportunity to kill it and spec out a stunner for hollywood and they botched it. There’s a reason everyone is selling theirs. The hype has died.

- 42mm is a terrible size for a GADA
- AR coating is applied conservatively at best
- Faux patina is overrated
- The lume SUCKS
- No screw down crown?????
- Priced at over $1000 but the KFA is like $500? Wtf?

Phenomenal out the box. My first Steeldive and first Chinese watch brand. For an NH35, this thing is good. The heaviest watch I’ve ever owned 😂 but I like that.

You can probably guess I like Divers… and Seikos… and tool watches.

It was only a couple years ago that I tried on my first turtle. An SRPE93. For years prior, I could never understand why the turtle existed personally and honestly, I thought it was a stupid looking watch and then I tried it on.

It became my favorite case shape of all time. The cushion case that it provided molded so well to my wrist that I quickly became in love.

Since then, I have owned damn near every turtle on the market. Every rendition except the Slim Turtle.

I finally received it today and can honestly say it’s my favorite variation and possibly one of my favorite divers that I’ve ever owned. This thing looks good on EVERY. SINGLE. STRAP. My 62MAS has some real competition for wrist time in the foreseeable future. (JK I love them both!)

Question came up in another sub. People were upset that a double pass NATO makes their watch too tall on the wrist. I just wanted to take a moment to demonstrate the double to single pass NATO trick for anyone interested.

An easy way to transform the aesthetic and comfortability of any watch on a NATO!

I still think the Fujitsubo is the best diver in terms of capability, value, execution and style. I own multiple Seiko Divers, a Tudor BB and an SMP 300m - I love those watches for what they are. But something about the Fujitsubo just fuckin kills.

Just wonderin’. I mean - a rivalry against a whole race seems a bit overdramatic for a watch company.

So I picked up my grail (Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300m 2025) a couple months ago and couldn’t be happier!

But…. I’ve been hesitant to wear it. While I DO own about 6 or 7 REALLY cool watches, and have been rotating them regularly, I’m always hesitant about putting the SMP on.

It’s an expensive watch (for me and alot of others) and I’m subconsciously scared of it loosing resell value. Now - this is dumb because I intend to keep it forever. But my “buy/sell” mentality associated with my “what’s the next shiny thing!” Mentality, really fcks with my enjoyment of the Grail I worked so hard to get.

But recently I noticed minor scratching on the case - (🙄literally nothing. Only shit you could see with a micro lens)

This was awesome.

Because my brain has shifted to “welp, you can’t sell it now!” and now I think I’m out of the honeymoon phase and have shifted to the “this is MY watch” phase. And now I am really enjoying it!

Tl;dr

I scratched my watch. Now I’m over the honeymoon phase and can explore the watch for what it was designed for and why I bought it: a rugged tool watch with phenomenal quality and complications.
