I speculate that the "hit rate" of word-of-mouth recommendations is higher in the subreddit dedicated to seeking them out, however polls are not allowed here so I must ask this question free-form to this community.
Hi I'm new. I agree with most, but not all, of the "platform" of anti-sexuality.
I engage with stories and media and fandoms that resonate with me, almost always on a thematic level but admiring a fictional character sometimes has a bit of attraction in the mix. I don't consume explicit NSFW of fictional characters, but I am partial to the "tumblr sexyman" and drawing/admiring fanart of 'em shirtless or in swimwear. And with a fellow fan, going "okay but they also cute 🩷🩷🩷" is a fun way to bond. And, of course, the universal fandom pasttime of Shipping.
What are y'alls opinions on directing one's own sexuality at fictional characters and sharing the resulting enthusiasm with others (properly tagged of course)? No-one in our world is involved after all. 🤷
So, maladaptive daydreaming. Ive been doing it since I was little, extending conversations with IRL people in my imagination hours after it ended, imagining animated movies to music and vice versa, and of couse the "pop!" sensation when someone in the real world has to snap you out of it making it feel like they are your #1 enemy. It feels good. Im still locked in a daydream more hours than I want to be. And its (allegedly) the source of why people with ADHD are "more creative".
No the fuck it's not. I realized this, incidentally, after observing others like myself doing the exact same thing. One came up with game ideas every 3 days and kept lamenting that he lacked the skill and precisely zero of it gets done. Or a friend talking about their OCs and me going "they're not in MY head rent-free, so they're boring". Those AMVs you see on YouTube that spark our imagination? Those were not made by someone in their own heads, they were made by someone who could get out of it. ADHD """creativity""" is a prison where imagination can never escape.
And the reverse side of the coin, maladaptive dayMAREing, is just as inescapable. Stuck in a time loop of a traumatic event, suddenly being transported to an alternate timeline where you made different choices and it never happened, only to "wake up" and feel worse and worse because you cannot "change the channel".
This... this is not creativity. It locks the brain in to only reliveing the past, and nothing new can come in or get out. You can't be creative if your own thoughts prevent you from creatING. In the Real World.
And I just want to have a healthy daydream/life balance for once...
This is my first Steam Fest, focusing on older games that kept improving at their labor of love! If you released a game a while ago, but still continued to improve and build upon it even if it didn't do so well on launch, this Fest is your second chance to bring new players!
I hope Valve will approve this. It's not a niche that people are attracted to at the moment, and I hope to change that.

I kinda like choice-based Attacks. Not discarding gives the one playing this a Market, and it only allows one discard (usually) before Marketing.

I am seeking Twitch streamers who stream BOTH commission art AND a variety of indie games in a roughly balanced measure. I'm looking to do a study of sorts.
Comment below if you fit that profile.

I'm a Muse Hunter for indie video games. I found this incredible conlang game in demo phase called Gata Guressi, and I've written a very glowing review.
Wishlist/Play here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3962430/Gata_Guressi/
This game is my first exposure to conlanging. And I am captivated by it in a way I haven't felt towards a game in a very long time.
The premise is setup simply. You need to search for your sibling who went AWOL in a multicultural interplanetary trade port, but you only know one of the several fictional languages in the solar system, so you receive a translator device to help. You (the player) are translating the dialogue in the conlangs. Cue Act 1.
Both the MC's personality and overall character writing is what gives this world meaning, and makes you want to engage with the conlangs because you want to understand the people living there. And the parallels to machine translation and you roleplaying as the device is incredibly relevant to the current zeitgeist. Did you know language models were originally developed for machine translation?

But I just conlanged in someone else's conlang in the cover image of the blog post. I've noticed many of you seem to have a pipe dream of convincing others to speak yours'? This is the master class in how to do it.

I am seeking one of two mini-ITX AMD B550 motherboards for my build; as either are compatible with the rest of my parts. Either the:
will do. Willing to pay around $115 USD.
(Also the BIOS needs to be flashed to the latest version cause PCPartPicker is giving me that warning.)
So assisted living employees are burnt out and underfunded, no? But that's because their triage is according to necessity not karma.
I propose sending a survey to their children inquiring about how the patient treated them in life, and prioritizing care to those that treated their own kids well.
This would allow you to not spread resources too thin. Good parents would be very few of them among your patients, I think. And you can sleep easy knowing those that couldn't be cared for at least earned it. Regardless of which camp the patient is in, the clients would be quite happy.
Is there a service for troubled older parents similar to the TTI?
I'm in my parents house, and they're emotionally abusive. I was sent to a psych ward once by a friend and they bring it up every time I have a minor side effect of one of my meds, this time at 5 am unprompted.
They bring it up all the time to tell me they're the only ones who will put up with me. As if the friend that sent me there didn't truly realize she made a mistake and apologized for it.
After I told them multiple times not to comment on my meds and let my doctor do his job and he made (more) empty threats to kick me out of the house.
I have some money of my own left, but not enough to move out.
I want the following:
Please help me. With how angry y'all are, surely the market would have provided a similar service for personal closure.
I'm hosting a personal blog by https://pages.sr.ht and I wanted an accompanying mailing list newsletter. Unfortunately the mailing lists sourcehut provides are not designed for newsletters; they're designed for git-send-email workflows the way God and Linus Torvalds intended. My blog is for a non-technical audience, but I'm technically proficient and want a newsletter service that respects that. Specifically:
- Send welcome letter on subscribing and similarly unsubscribing
- Put their name in the email via template (maybe, not super important)
- Have some easy widget where they can *click an html form button* on my site and it subscribes them
- look at who is subscribed
- Have a custom-formatted plaintext part — I like the a11y of text/plain and pandoc doesn't quite cut it
- Disable tracking pixels — they're a scourge on the Internet and most email clients block them anyway
- No fancy formatting. I basically just want to write the emails in some flavor of Markdown
- pipe any replies to my personal email; but with some spam protection
- some way to ensure bots don't subscribe?
Mailchimp et al are very expensive 🙁 So I seek something that is way less pricey but as a tradeoff assumes more technical proficiency; cause I have it!
So Obsidian is Free Software (as in freedom of use), but NOT open source. You have it forever on download, your data is yours forever, and the vibrant plugin scene makes it clear that modifying the software is totally cool.
I never thought I'd see one of those in the wild. In practice, the venn diagram between Free(dom) and Open Source is practically a circle.
So I'm using the Hugo SSG for my personal blog with Obsidian. It's serviceable, though it does not parse wikilinks or comments correctly, leaving them as-is in the output.
I want to use Hugo's features to process these two things correctly; turning them into actual links and stripping out md comments. And I also want an "elegant" solution that is ideally self-contained. Like one thing I tried was piping the RawContent into a Regexp and then a RenderString, but that came with a host of other problems due to being garbage spaghetti code:
<!-- ABSOLUTE TRASH. Not like this. -->
{{ define "main" }}
{{ .RenderString (replaceRE `\\((\!?)\[[[^]]*]])` `$1` (replaceRE `(^|[^\\|!]{1})(\!?)(?:(\[\[([^]||]*)]])|(\[\[([^]||]*)\|([^]]*)]]))` `$1$2[$4$7](internalwiki "$4$6")` .RawContent)) }}
{{ end }}
And I think Hugo's Render Hooks are the way, but from what I've read they only apply once goldmark recognizes those elements as links, tables, etc. and I need it to recognize Obsidian's syntax as links/comments to begin with.
And googling forums wasn't useful.
Anyone else use Hugo, and if so how do you get it to play nice with Obsidian?
A cat managed to catch 27 mice and carefully lined them all up to show off his 'work' to his owner.
These are some art pieces of black cats posted by a BlueSky user named cerisewander
I think it may be AI because the art is good looking yet the account is less than 3 days old and humans generally don't spawn on the Internet making good illustrations?
But I know that is NOT evidence in the slightest.
Nor do I know how to tell from the content of the image itself, so.
