I have a question about auto insurance

Back in March, I changed insurance companies because Progressive kept raising rates. I ended up with GEICO for about $100 less per 6 months

My renewal came (for September) and it went up $70! I called GEICO and he said because of an accident October 2025.

I proceeded to tell him that I wasn't at fault, I was stopped at a stop sign and I was sideswiped by an idiot cutting the corner, trying to beat traffic.

He said it doesn't matter. Is this how it is in Kansas? Some numbnut hits you and you get charged with it and your rates go up?

Why are we allowing this?

For the record, I asked my agent, she just replied she could switch me to another company with a rate I would prefer.

This is Rocky! I'm happy to call him "my boy"

August 30th, 2025, his person,a neighbor of mine, had a medical emergency and was going to hospital. I went to assist EMS getting in his gate and to get Rocky, who I already knew.

After the person came home a month later he still wasn't able to care for Rocky anymore, but that was just fine because Rocky and I had really bonded!

I do take him to visit the other person and I frequently send photos but Rocky is mine to stay!

Look what I caught this morning! Rocky and Valentino Fathead-cat

I think it probably happens more than I know about! I think Rocky decided to get back in bed after breakfast but Fathead seems to think the kennel is his during the day!

When I first saw them, Rocky started really wagging his tail, like, "I'm saved!"

This is Obie (O. B., Old Boy), he was the neighborhood tomcat and wore many battle wounds. Now he's living large with tasty meals, a warm bed, and a doting human ❣️

The first 5 photos are from 2022-23

The last 3 were taken 07/29/2026. August 18th will be 4 years since he showed up with 2 other voids. I estimated his age then around 5 so he's a senior boy about 9 years old, positive for FIV and FeLV and has stomatitis

His mouth was extremely sore so I took him to the vet.. he only weighed 8 lbs! He's close to 14 lbs now. That was when we got the diagnosis and she immediately wanted to euth.. I said No

I'm treating symptoms at home and I'm thankful for every day I have with him
