





























This is an illegal dump next to the A34 near Oxford, containing around 21,000 tonnes of waste. It started being cleaned up last year, and the third picture is from last week as the cleanup is finally coming to a close.
It was dumped by an organised crime gang who are accused of bribing local government officials. Some of the waste originated from council properties. There’s a landfill tax paid when waste is sent to landfill, which makes it increasingly lucrative for organised criminals to dump waste illegally on an industrial scale.
The Environment Agency has also suffered years of austerity and doesn’t have the budget to tackle everything. There are still illegal dump sites operating across the UK today.

Bristol is the birthplace of Banksy and has one of the largest populations of caravan dwellers in the UK. The caravan dwellers range from crackheads to professionals who work in the city but can no longer afford the high rents. There are some good YouTube videos about them.
