Sometimes I wish she could talk

I love my Lucy, we’ve had her almost three weeks now and she’s lovely. She’s happy, healthy, playful, loyal, and even a bit protective! (As much as an itty bitty Yorkie can be)

She’ll run up to us and bounce off our legs and yap, but we cant figure out what it means every time. Bathroom? We take her outside, but she just sniffs the flowers and comes back. Food or water? We leave it out and filled regularly. Toys? We rile her up and get her playing. Lap time? Any time she wants! But I wish she could talk sometimes, cus what if it’s none of those things?! What if she’s just coming up to us and doesn’t want anything, just “talking” to us like how we do when we walk across the house to find someone. I just want to make sure she’s happy and feels loved, especially now being away from her previous owner.

Xtra/unrelated: We adopted her from my aunt who could not give her the attention she needed anymore since she wants to travel, and we’ve spoiled her! Baths with fancy shampoo, fancy new food, toys, treats, car seats, you name it. She’s potty trained, however she doesn’t potty very often. Maybe I’m just used to how my previous dog was, he was a chihuahua and was senior age after we moved to this house. I would have to pick up dirty floor pads every day, sometimes multiple times plus let him out a couple times a day. Lucy doesn’t seem to use the bathroom that much, and when she does it doesn’t seem like constipation or blockage. I’ll get her first vet appointment soon just to be safe, but that’s beside the point.

Day 3 of remodel (unfinished + before/after)

A crack in the tub turned into hell. The toilet constantly ran, the tub faucet dripped, and the crack in the tub and constant failing repairs finally toppled our patience when we noticed the floor going soft.

I’m 100% confident the only thing that kept us from falling through was the fact the previous tub was bolted to the wall. No supports under it or anything other than whatever is in the pictures. The joists were rotting, the floor was rotted, the stringer beam across the back is still sagging so I added a new support under it. I’m so, so tired, and thank god for my uncle who came down and worked morning to night to help. He got there before I got home from a trip and got right to work pulling out old floor and setting new wood.

It’s grueling, it’s disgusting, and it’s so, so refreshing to not worry if im gonna fall beneath my house when I take a leak or brush my teeth.

Unfortunately its gotta be done in parts, but I know its not to be done in a day. Gotta finish replacing piping and angle stops (with help from my BiL, professional plumber) later tonight and then have to wait for my uncle to come back down later this month to put up the last wall so he can drill the holes. Not only do I not have a hole saw, but I’m so mortified of fucking it up I don’t even wanna try.

Wish me luck, we’re getting there.

Why does she eat like this?

A minute prior to the video, she had a piece she either was just playing with or couldn’t keep in her mouth. She’d pick it up, fling it a few inches, then do it again two more times before eating.

We’ve had Lucy for two weeks now, and it took her a few days to start eating regularly since she’s two years old and bonded with my aunt who we adopted her from. Is this some weird food insecurity or is she just a little weirdo?

What’s up with the paddock in Atlanta this year?

Back again for my 3rd trip to FD Round 2, and the paddock seems to have been split? Also it says the paddock doesn’t open until Saturday but other than being mid-setup today it seems they’re allowing people in and out, so I’m not sure if its just an error with the schedule format or what. Any info before me and my group walk all the way down there?

Ive been at this for 4 hours. Disabled firewall, restarted both laptops. Both WERE connected to the internet, but every time the migration code pops up the mac disconnects from the internet. I have no clue where to go from here, and it’s almost as infuriating as the old laptop is.
