I just got done with a walk where I received a 1-star review because I misread some of the instructions. The parent also laid out several ways I had apparently displeased her before but had never mentioned. (Even though some of those happened because she was not always responsive but I digress)

From what I understand, women used to be called (name) bat (father’s name) before marriage before the adoption of hereditary surnames. But since that’s gone now, are there families whose surname is “bat (surname)”? I understand it would be rarer.

Basically, I’m making something fantasy-y but still reasonably accurate for what a non-royal person, but who doesn’t live in squalor, would wear. Basically somewhere in the range of a skilled worker and a merchant. My basic idea so far is:

As a base I’ll be wearing a knee-length tunic and a pair of tight-fitting pants in leu of hoes.

Over that I’ll wear a giornea-like surcoat with a row of clasps to close it down the middle. I’ll have a belt as well to hold various pouches and whatnot.

Above that I’ll wear either a gugel, a cloak, or both.

If this doesn’t work, what could I change about it while keeping the base of the tunic?

I’ve seen cotton/ linen blend paper but it’s like $100 for the pack. Is there a less expensive option? I’ve heard mulberry paper is decent but it’s too thin for me.

I’m honestly having fun. Sure it’s a vastly inferior product to the animated series but there are a few things I enjoy or at least appreciate. There are a lot of improvements from season 1 so far.
