What color lining should I use for my coat?

The main fabric is this brown velvet. I want to line the frock coat for support and style, but I’m not sure which color I should use.

Because of cost and texture, I’m using some poly satin. Michaels only has it in a handful of colors, so I’m stuck between red and black. What do you think?

Could I trace my pattern using spray chalk?

I’m working on a piece made from spray velvet and I’m super nervous about nudging or stretching the fabric while working, or crushing the nap with the weights, etc. could I use a fabric-safe spray on the wrong side of the fabric in order to mark it without having to touch it?

Work in progress. Maybe I’ll finish it, maybe not.

For this iteration I’d imagine it having a voice like the Moonbase cyber-controller, since it doesn’t have any lungs or vocal cords anymore its voice is entirely synthesized. That could also mean that it can change its voice to lure victims to their doom.

[conflicting trope] it WAS Progressive when it came out

Ouran High School Host Club: when the show came out it was revolutionary for how casually it treated gay and genderqueer people, with much of the comedy coming at the expense of the bigots rather than the minorities. However, some of the language is a bit… outdated. They mostly use slurs.

Doctor Who: especially in the 60’s, Doctor who was extremely cutting-edge. Especially the historical’s. The Aztecs was a surprisingly sympathetic towards the titular native Americans. However, they freely use words like “Indian” and “savage”. Also lots of yellow face. And black face. Good intentions, bad execution by today’s standards.
