Why is my unrealised gain different when converted from USD to INR? Is it because of USD/INR movement?

My portfolio shows:

USD view:

Invested: $8,306.75

Current value: $11,926

Unrealised gain: +$3,619

If I convert the unrealised gain using the current USD/INR rate (~₹96):

$3,6319 × 96 ≈ ₹3.47 lakh

But the app shows my INR unrealised gain as ₹4.13 lakh.

Why is there a difference of around ₹66,000?

Would appreciate an explanation. Thanks!

30 Years of Dad + 8 Years of Mine hardwork..

Manifesting to reach 1Cr and buy my own Car+Home.

He gets 30k and I earn 50k. He guided me a bit and influenced me to invest early when I got my first job.

Now I am no longer working. I am focusing on US markets entirely.. I invest through IND money app, no fees required to open a US account. PAN card, Bank Account and KYC will be verified. Apart from that no major challenges on this platform. One can start from 1Rs/- as well. I experimented from 2024 and saw better returns in US market with AI sector growth.

This is the app link. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.indwealth

Note:

  1. He is 63 and I'm 31F. We both are salaried private employees. Many are saying bro in comments but Bruh.. 😅 I self learnt and tried my luck... If I did you guys should also do.. I'm just a late bloomer like rest of us..

  2. People find this as a marketing campaign.. I get it but I'm being real and I am excited with numbers hence posting here so that another person like me can benefit at EOD and come out of this middleclass loophole.

  3. Lastly - I keep posting whenever I get profits. This is a previous post a month ago wherein I had benefited with Cyberark acquisition by Palo Alto.

  1. The liabilities of -0.01 is due to bills being synced by the app. Any dues left unpaid show up negatively.

  2. Lastly US investments work best for STCG and benefits most when you are under lower tax slab. STCG is taxable at your tax slab while LTCG is at 12.5%.

Notes of any song.

How to get Notes/Swaras of any language?

Is there any app that generates notes or reference websites?

I'm trying to play kalimba and relying on whatever is available on the internet but I'd like to play on different songs off internet notes.

Where would you put $1K right now?

Fellow Indians and everyone else around the world: I’ve added $1,000 to my US investment account and I’m looking to deploy it into one of these stocks:

- SanDisk

- Eli Lilly

- Alphabet (Class A)

- Micron Technology

- Seagate Technology

I’m looking at this as a short-to-medium-term investment (around 2–6 months), but I’m open to holding longer if the fundamentals and growth story make sense.

If you had $1K to invest today, which one would you pick and why? What factors are you personally looking at valuation, upcoming earnings, growth potential, or current price?

Would love to hear where you guys are putting your eggs.

Also dividends tax is quite high - is there any alternative for people investing outside US?

What's the pocket money being given to Non working Wives?

After all the groceries and other miscellaneous charges do husbands offer any pocket money to non-working wives? If so, what's the amount?

I know after all the bills, EMIs and stuff there wouldn't be enough but still if there are people saving more than 50% of their salary what will be the % you usually give to her pocket.

Fellow MSFT holders, are we holding long-term or selling anytime soon?

Hey everyone, I wanted to open up a discussion to see how other long-term investors in Microsoft (MSFT) are feeling about the current market climate.

I’ve been holding my position for over 4 years now. Watching the stock hit highs of USD 500+ last October was an incredible ride, but seeing it pull back into the USD 390+ range has definitely tested my nerves.

On one hand, zooming out reminds me that 4+ years of compounding, enterprise cloud dominance with Azure, and continuous AI integration usually reward patience. Sitting on gains from an entry point a few years back makes it easier to stomach the noise, but a drop of over $100 per share from previous peaks is still tough to watch.

Are you trimming your position, holding steady, or buying the dip? Is anyone else experiencing doubts, or are you looking at this purely as a long-term cyclical correction in a powerhouse tech stock?

Would love to hear perspectives from fellow MSFT holders on your strategy moving forward!
