Got my first 1* of the year, 69th review ever. 4.4 down to a 4.3, trying to sell a device as is

Buyer said my product was damaged, probably liquid damaged, and would suddenly turn off and I didn't mention it in my listing.

Buyer came this week, checked it out and at some point it got a BSOD which I didn't expect and about a minute later he declines and leaves. And under 1 hour later I got notified he left a rating. I left one and discover he left a 1*. My first 1* of the year. I think it lowered my 4.4 to a 4.3 even.

I listed this PC as is and listed the specs and some known problems with it, and had pictures of multiple angles of it

Maybe I didn't do enough?

T530s that I found that had dead batteries and then I swapped them with some good enough batteries from other T530s

Also found 2 T480s at the same time, 1 had 2 dead batteries, 1 had an external battery dead

Buyer just asked if I could donate a cheap laptop to an organization in another country, and on low ratings of buyers

Just today a "buyer" messaged me if it's available then "Can u donate it to an organization in Nigeria pls"

Buyer has a 4.3* rating (180 reviews)

Weirdly enough only Reviews as seller show up on PC but on mobile, seller/buyer reviews can be seen. Anyways, he has 2 1/2 dozen seller reviews 5 1* and 1 2*

Some of his low ratings as buyer were for things like never showing up or asking for address then not coming. One was for wasting someone's time questing the authenticity of some item that was genuine. Another was for coming 2 hours late and then scamming them: "adults were gone so their kid greeted him, they prepared a $20 small product he first wanted but he rejected it, and then only paid $10 and grabbed a $60 bigger product and ran without settling up."

I've been reading reviews more often since earlier this year when I had a buyer flake multiple times and then I realized the name sounded familiar, I think it was a local well known junkie who had under 3.5 stars. It was 2-3 *s I think

What are some of the lowest or craziest reviews you ever saw or received yourself?

“Protect Ontario” from what?

I’m sorry, but what are we protecting Ontario from?

I keep seeing these ads everywhere. I don’t know how much they cost to run.

And when I hear Protect Ontario I’m thinking about health and safety, law and order, better enforcement or justice, not necessarily the economy and other such things.

Can someone please explain, and justify, “Protect Ontario” or does anyone question or not know the purpose of this thing?

How bad will it be using an older [hp] logo PSU 19v 4.74a to charge a newer (hp) Elitebook? 19.5V 2.31a

I found some HPs with no Ac Adaptors and I found some adaptors at a later time, same connector but different V/A ratings. How bad is a 19V 4.74A charger going to be for a 19.5V 2.31a elitebook?

And the charger is older but the laptop is newer - they have different style hp logos

Have you ever had a buyer come and just not want to buy your Item because it was in some bad condition according to them?

2 days ago I was selling a sub-$90 laptop and the buyer basically said (almost verbatim) it was more dinged up than I was hoping and he was wanting to run some presentations with it. So he just said he was going to pass.

Years ago I was selling some iPhone for a firm price and some buyer also actually came, no flaking, but tried offering less (description said firm price in the 1st line) citing some minor scratches and the value/deprecation.

Another time over 2 years ago I was selling a sub-$80 laptop and the buyer passed because the lid supposedly had too many scratches and "has to be almost perfect for me".

Does anyone not look at pictures or want items to be so perfect, or ignore FIRM PRICE? I can understand reasons for offering less but should you try if it's Firm price?

To make up for the other day's L when I sold a laptop yesterday, which needed a battery (clearly specified) and the buyer was looking for a blu-ray drive (mine was CD/DVD) but still accepted mine. Looked over it and accepted it as it was. W.

Shoutout to the good buyers out there, and I was lucky here too.

Buyer can’t seem to understand pick up only & as is, and it’s a cheap item

I wrote in my description for my item it “pick up in [my city] only, as is” and some buyer just messaged the following:

“Pick up? as is? What does that mean? Did you bother to check if all aspects of this thing works properly?”

I’m confused about his confusion.

It’s a cheap sound system under $25.

I don’t deliver (will exceedingly rarely make exceptions)

returns are not what I really want to do - I’ve dealt with doing these before including 1 for a $500+ item because the buyer “couldn’t afford it” 3 hours after buying and haven’t sold it since - only a bunch of nothing burgers - people asking for delivery (no delivery), lowballing, (firm price), asking questions about the specs which were all said in the description

I’ll sometimes give a little tech help depending on the item and if I feel like it. I sold a cheap monitor and named the ports in the description and title and buyer stated “not compatible with my PC” I said nothing, and nothing happened since

Just found these today with some other stuff

I don’t know if they turn on yet

u/ProExpert1S500 — 11 days ago

Haven’t tested everything yet but the 8+ turns on but had a passcode and ICloud lock ON :( I know that makes it effectively useless and is a motherfxcker to remove

I saw the person throwing it out and had some chance to ask about it but didn’t. Maybe I just could’ve asked to make sure they’re removed from iCloud. But I didn’t know and didn’t think or say enough

You probably can't remember too much of what you saw after a long reel scrolling session. It's so time consuming and for things you will usually forget later on.

You forget 1000 things every day.

Long content isn't always better but short form content discourages attention spans and info retention.

No service menu or special buttons required. This was easily accessible via the menu. Didn’t even need the remote.

I had some weird shifts and skipping and I noticed this. I take it that’s not supposed to be crooked. Can I safely bend the tab so the screw can go in straight.

I might have to remove the wheel because I don’t have much clearance but I can bend that *safely*?

The available subscriptions are Basic, Professional, Enterprise, and cost (monthly) $29, 149, or 499, and are for bike shops, wheel builders, and manufacturers.

Like BMW where you have to pay more to use a feature your car came with. Like heated seats.
