Shout out to a great cast member. Ummm former cast member.

I just found out that our VIP Tour Guide, Jodi, was involuntarily let go from the Disneyland Resort.

Our group had Jodi as our guide for a day, and she was absolutely fantastic. She didn’t just do her job, she went above and beyond to make sure our entire group had an amazing experience. She was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about making our day special.
There are certain Cast Members who remind you why Disneyland is such a special place, and Jodi was definitely one of them.

I don’t know all the circumstances surrounding her departure, so I’m not looking to speculate or get into the details. I just wanted to share our experience as guests. Jodi was outstanding, and the care and effort she put into our day did not go unnoticed.
It’s really disappointing to see someone who represents the very best of the Disneyland experience no longer be there.

Thank you, Jodi, for making our Disney day so memorable. I hope you know how much your guests appreciate you, and I hope whatever comes next is an even better chapter.

Nguyening!!

Is it possible this can be my flair? It’s mine, I’m from Vietnam. Arriving to California as a refugee kid, growing up on welfare, thrift store clothes and government cheese. After years of hard work and dedication, we are making it. This is one of three Teslas I have (Wifey has a Model S and son has a Model Y RWD and I bought daughter a Lexus IS convertible, she’s the only gas car). The American Dream. And all I do is Nguyen Nguyen Nguyen no matter what. ❤️

Two things at Costco I wasn’t sure would go together. But I was wrong

It goes together well. It goes together so well. Delicious low carb chipotle chicken just like the fast food place that makes
It, and a smooth almond based hummus-like chipotle sauce, both available at Costco. Yassssssss. Yummy. $12 for the chicken and $10 for the sauce. A winning combination.

2 weeks later, frozen $1 Enchirito, still good!

I froze a few of these in the office freezer two weeks ago when we got them for $1. Decided to heat one up today for lunch, using my Hot Logic Mini Mac food warmer. While there were some ice crystals on the frozen Enchirito, the whole thing warmed up perfectly, and it was a good lunch today. I’ve still got one left, so maybe I’ll try again in another two weeks.

California Spiny Lobster season runs from October to March, so you can’t catch any outside of those months

However, I froze these ones in January and defrosted them yesterday to eat. And they were just perfect! Marinated in avocado oil with garlic and spices, then broiled to perfection. They are so sweet and tender, and they live just off the shore here in SoCal. It was a delicious way to remember that I can’t wait for October to get here!

To the redditor who said to add jalapeños to my $1 Mexican pizza. You are a gentleman and a scholar. This was so fire!

I know we’re all getting the $1 Mexican Pizza today and it will be pretty good, but I sure do miss when they came with slices of black olive and a sprinkle of green onion.

It really brought out the flavor. Too bad, so sad.

Applest wax apples. When they fully ripen on the backyard tree they’re much sweeter than store bought.

Level up

Next level Popeyes: the 3 pieces of signature chicken for $6 is a great deal (I get 3 thighs because they’re my favorite), and the Louisiana Hot Sauce. But add a packet of Cajun Sparkle and it’s over the top good. Never on the menu or talked about, but the store always has it and you just have to ask nice. It’s just seasoning but is it even good for you? And weird question, for years I was sure they used dried Worcestershire sauce. What the heck is this on the ingredients list? Oh well, it’s still super good.

Used my HotLogic Mini at my desk to reheat the frozen $1 Enchirito from yesterday. Success!

Put the leftover Enchiritos into the office freezer. The little warmer is great, heats my food to 165° and holds it there until ready to eat. I usually use it for frozen meals or heating up soup or leftovers. Put my frozen Enchirito in at 9am, ate it at noon. Nice and hot, and still tasty especially with all the sauce. Yum.

Got my $1 Enchirito for lunch today, but with green sauce instead of red sauce and it was 🔥 Thanks for the Tuesday Drop TB.

My wife’s usual order is a hamburger with extra toast, extra extra lettuce, and extra extra grilled onions. But somehow yesterday they really hooked it up! You can’t see in the picture but there actually was a ton of lettuce inside too. Thank you, board person.

3 for Me but with a chicken parm sandwich

The big crispy chicken sandwich, fries, drink and a salad for $10.99. Added melted cheese for $1, and a side of marinara for free. It was absolutely big, crispy, and delicious. That soft and sweet brioche bun really tied everything together.

The Double McChicken is underrated.

The McChicken is now $2 at my local McDonald’s but adding another McChicken patty is $1. Combined with the free medium fries for the Angels win, and I’m balling on a budget.

The end of an era, tonight Gulliver’s Restaurant (across the street from John Wayne airport) closed its doors.

Lilliputian. I had many a good prime rib dinner here over the years, and I appreciated its English charm, great hospitality, and delicious food. Brought my own bottle of Caymus for the occasion (my early birthday), and Wifey and I enjoyed ourselves here for the last time. So long Gulliver’s. Thanks for the memories. ❤️
