I hand drew a dark casino strategy game in two weeks where grid positioning beats luck. Free Next Fest demo is live early. (PC + Mac)

Game Title: Hellsino Pokerlike
Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4730280/Hellsino_Pokerlike/

Hi :) I am a solo developer working on Hellsino. It is a turn based strategy game where you place traditional cards on a combat grid to trigger scoring multipliers against an underworld dealer.

I wanted to create a system where spatial board control matters far more than pure randomness. You can actively manipulate the layout, swap card positions, and optimize your scoring rows to protect your health points and bypass bad card luck. To keep myself moving fast, I challenged myself to complete the entire hand drawn gritty art style in just two weeks of intense work.

My official Steam Next Fest event begins this Monday, but I have opened up the downloadable PC demo early so players can jump in ahead of the festival crowds.

If you love deep tactical strategy and distinct art styles, please support my solo development journey by playing the demo and adding the game to your Steam wishlist.

I built a dark casino roguelite to fix the bad luck problem in card games. Grid tactics meet deckbuilding.

Hello rogue community

I am the solo developer behind Hellsino. I built this game because I love deckbuilders but I always felt frustrated losing an amazing run to pure bad card draw luck.

In Hellsino, your card placement on the board dictates your survival. You are drafting perks, dodging dealer traps, and positioning cards on a combat grid to survive. It replaces traditional card game luck with deep spatial positioning mechanics.

My official Steam Next Fest demo launches this Monday, but the free browser version is up on itch right now if you want to test the mechanics early. If you enjoy the concept, please add it to your Steam wishlist. That helps a solo developer survive the store algorithm the most.

A dark, hand-drawn tactical roguelike where card combinations meet a grid nexus. No more losing to pure luck or bad RNG - positioning is everything. The playable PC/Mac demo is officially LIVE!

Hand-drawing a poker roguelike, but adding grid tactics so you can actually out-strategize bad RNG and card luck. What do you think of this approach to the genre?

Hey guys :) I'm a solo dev and artist, finally working on my own project, Hellsino Pokerlike for Steam.

I hand-draw everything on a Wacom to give it a gritty, dark comic style and collaborate with a good friend that created the soundtrack.
The goal of the game is to defeat the dealers by merge poker hands with spatial positioning on a grid, Nexus sets gives extra multiplier to the cards value. it gives you a tactical choices over when and where to commit your cards rather than just praying for a lucky draw.
If it's now enough, it has a turn base element and in each dealer's turn he will attack and destroy your cards (top to bottom). your cards are your HP.

First view of my game, I created a custom shader that deforms all the hand-drawn cards slightly so each one looks unique

The game is 100% hand drawn and developed by me, Upgrading the poker roguelike genre with some grid tactics, so it’s not just luck and RNG, you actually need to make strategic decisions on when to drop your cards.

I finally quit to build my own "3-poker hands battle game with tactical elements and cross hands to multiplay your damage" roguelike(!)

I'm solo dev and finally chasing the dream of my own studio. I just got the Steam page live for the June Next Fest(!)
