Added an enemy to my multiplayer class-based shooter game

The game would be about the princess hazelnut being kidnapped from the hazelnut village and having to get it back. At the beginning, only a few hazelnut champs would be available. The game would consist of several thematic chapters, and each chapter would consist of 5 levels. A level would be about 8-10 minutes long, where the enemies would come in waves and you would have to survive one by one. After the last level of each chapter, a cool thing would happen (e.g. parachuting from the mountain with a big leaf, etc.) and then a new hazelnut village would open, where you could unlock a new hazelnut variety.

Each hazelnut would have its own level. When you play with a given nut, that nut will level up, and every time you level up you get a point that you can spend on improving one of your nuts' stats (e.g. speed, health, stamina, etc.).

There would be 2 modes in the game: the campaign (story mode, above) and the Endless Arena, in which waves of enemies come endlessly and you have to survive, the purpose of which is to relax, have fun, and level up your nuts.

When you get a new nut, it will be level 1, so it's weaker than the one you played with before, so arena mode will be good for leveling up weak nuts.

So that you can't go too high in arena, which would result in story mode being very easy, there would be a Player Account level that can only be improved in story, and none of the nuts' levels can go above the player account level, which forces you to go into story mode.

Chapter ideas:

A small lake that is a huge axis for the hazelnuts, big fish jump, aquatic creatures, birds attack.

In tall grass

In mole holes

Around picnic tables

Mechanical ideas:

Catch a large stag beetle and fight on its back

It has not yet been decided whether the hazelnuts' weapons will be similar to human weapons, such as AK-47, M4, HK, etc., or hazelnut weapons made by the hazelnuts themselves.

I'm making a goofy coop multiplayer game about Nuts, but I need help with the game loop and hook.

Hey, I am QuantumPixel, an indie dev. My team will finally form around june, so I won't be solo anymore. Therefore I am started developing a higher-end game, a steam coop multiplayer.

You and your friends play as nuts. There is an FPS and TPS camera, the movement is smooth and you can even roll with your character, healt hand stamina system is already wired up.There are chests that can contain several item types.

I believe many players could enjoy this game, since it's trying to be funny, goofy and serious at the same time.

I would need your help about the gameplay loop, hooks and mechanics.

We have this idea:
A class-based action shooter, where every nut have their own unique gun and specialities. You and your friend start in a themed-arena, where will be 20 waves of enemy. The last wave is a boss battle and after finishing the 20th wave you move towards the next arena.

About progression:

After each wave, every player will receive money and for a small duration of time, they can spend it on skills, or upgrades in the shop, then a new wave starts.

Who are the enemies?

The enemies are the animals in the forest. It would be a bit gore-y styled shooter (like blood and bacon) but not as disgusting. The whole game would be cartoon-ish style.

What is the story?

In the Nut Village, the last lake has dried up therefore the nuts can not grow and reproduce. One day the Nut Leader found out that blood can replace water, so they gathered in groups and try their best at invading the forest and collect blood. I know it sounds a bit weird lol.

What do you think? Let me know how you like this concept, and if you have a better idea, I am all ears! Thanks for any help and support :)

The Sun is dying and humanity lost hope, but Jupiter's ice moon's surface has melted. Early development look.

Early Development!
This underwater game takes place on Europa, Jupiter's 4th biggest moon. It is covered with 40km deep, thick ice layer. Maybe something lives there.

In 2043, the Sun began to die - expanding, heating, and slowly destroying humanity.

As Earth collapses, Europa’s 40-kilometer ice shell finally melts open, exposing a dark ocean humanity was never meant to reach.

You are sent alone beneath the ice with one mission: explore the abyss, collect samples, and send humanity a final hope for survival.

Guided only by your Directive Assistant AI, you descend deeper and deeper into Europa’s ocean.

But something beneath the surface is watching.

Something ancient is trying to reach you.

And the deeper you go, the more impossible it becomes to tell whether your AI is protecting you, or hiding the truth.

This is how night looks in my survival game where your house can shift at night...

Hey, I am currently working on a horror survival project called In the Forest's Dead Circle, and I would really love to hear your thoughts about the atmosphere and the house so far.

The game features:

  • Inventory & storage systems
  • Crafting and upgrades
  • Rifle mechanics
  • Day-night cycle
  • Health, stamina, thirst, hunger, and sanity systems
  • Tree chopping & rock mining
  • Multiple enemies
  • An intelligent enemy that I am not ready to reveal yet

The game is heavily story-driven.

You inherit a lonely house deep within a forest. At first, everything feels peaceful and quiet… but little by little, the forest begins to reveal its secrets.

Previous owners who vanished without explanation.
Strange figures watching from the darkness.
A wandering trader who appears at impossible times.
And sometimes… your entire house changes overnight. New doors appear. Rooms shift. Something inside the forest does not want you to leave.

There is no Steam page yet — I am currently focused on gathering feedback about the mechanics, atmosphere, and overall vibe of the game.

I also have a Discord server where I stay in touch with the community and share development progress. Feel free to join through the invite link in the comments. :)

Alone in a stranded antenna facility, uncover the signals no one was meant to hear.

This is my current game I am developing. My focus is atmosphere and environmental story telling.
