I occasionally get someone who has common sense and speaks above 30 dB, but 80% of the time I have to nearly stick my head in the car to hear what they’re saying 🤨

I want to start off by saying I have the most respect for blue collar workers. You guys work hours upon hours to keep society moving.

I see the pay for jobs in your field and I’m starting to lean more and more to becoming a member of it too so I can be proactive and save up money before my girlfriend and I start a family.

That being said, I don’t want to risk my physical well being to make said money. I hear so many stories about blue collar workers making the big bucks but paying the cost of joint pain, mental health problems, never seeing their kids, etc.

What job or jobs have a decent safety/pay ratio?

Title pretty much explains it. I have a strong chance of becoming a team lead and would like to stand out and maybe even improve the store in any way possible. Please leave your suggestions!

Here’s some important stuff to note.

Our store is BUSYYYYY. Maybe not as busy as some others, but from what I remember I think we made like ~$14 million last year in gross profits. This is because we are located smack dab in the middle of a major hub in town for business. A huge entertainment center is nearby; so too is a major military training base, and a couple schools AND a university within driving distance. On top of all this, we’re situated off the side of a major roadway which might as well be a highway with how many cars it boasts daily. I didn’t even get to mention how were the only chick fil a in a 10 mile circle. Doesn’t seem like a lot but trust me it is. So this will definitely be a challenge.

I’m a 23 year old guy. This might not seem like a huge deal to some, but to me it’s my first real test at any management. Im sure there’s gonna be some challenges, but that’s beyond the point. Should I get the position, I’d actually be the second present male lead (excluding two directors) at my location. I want to set a good example.

From what I was told by my GM, it’s basically “Team Member+”—meaning we handle the minor stuff that doesn’t require managers so they can effectively manage, while we basically lead the team and make sure we’re all on the same page.

What recommendations/suggestions or words of advice do any of you have for me to be a solid lead?

I’m talking implementations, habits, behavior, hell even small purchases I can make to organize or improve the store.

Again pardon me if I seem overzealous, this is just a little goal I have because I have not much else for myself on the horizon occupation-wise. I think this might help me find work fun/bearable again. 🙂

Trying to escape from the fast food environment and saw an opening for member specialist at my local Sam’s Club.

My questions are the same as in the title;

* Is it too good to be true/just as easy as the description makes it sound?
* What can I expect to be doing daily & what precautions should I take?
* Is the position worth the money? ($17 USD starting where I live)

Note: to be clear my situation is not as important or urgent as many others so I understand if it’s not fulfilled.

I’m living check to check to keep up with rent and recently broke my incredibly cheap glasses from a few years ago. I believe I have enough money to cover an exam to update my prescription, but the cheapest solid pair I’ve found are $130 with the anti scratch coating (essential for my line of work).

I feel like a new pair of glasses specifically with an update prescription would do numbers for my confidence and seeing clearly would motivate me to work even more and get back on my feet.

Not sure if you guys are acquainted with prescriptions but I’m a -2.5 which is not incredibly blind but certainly difficult to manage.

Hey there, sorry to intrude your space gals but I’m hoping you can help me find a great bikini top, or assortment of such so that she doesn’t need to worry about or endure the pain of the rear strap/knot digging into her neck.
