Expected train timings, got political ads
So I'm traveling in India right now and I'm at a railway station in a city called Dehradun.
I was looking up at the TV screens( almost 30-40 on each platform) on the platforms expecting to see train schedules, delays, platform numbers, that sort of thing. Instead, almost every screen was playing advertisements featuring India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
If I want to know the train time table or details then I have to Walk to the ticket counters where they are displaying the time table
This is so irritating
Came to Dehradun from Bangalore and got confused for a second 😅
Back in Bangalore, the TVs on railway platforms usually show train timings, delays, platform changes, etc. Here at Dehradun station, most of the TVs I saw were playing Modi ads instead.
People took off with mats after Yoga Day event in Lucknow, guards had to stop them and collect the mats

When did the bus fares become so expensive
I lived in Hyderabad for 15 years before moving to Bangalore. I'm back in Hyderabad now and was shocked by the bus fares.

I used to stay in KPHB Colony, and a ticket to Secunderabad was around ₹20 at most. Today, the same trip costs about ₹45, and even the minimum fare is ₹15.

Meanwhile, in Bangalore, the minimum BMTC fare is ₹6, the maximum fare on ordinary buses is around ₹23, and even many express buses don't cost more than ₹32.

How did Hyderabad's bus fares become so expensive? And why is no one protesting against this??

First time someone is blaming the right person
A viral video showed ants swarming a car’s fuel tank because of E20 petrol. The truth is more complicated than “sugarcane in fuel.”

This is Sambhar Lake, India’s largest saltwater lake, where evaporation creates these insane colors from deep reds and pinks to vibrant oranges, yellows, and purples.
Don't know what they were expecting
Are there Yulu-like services in Uttarakhand or Himachal for delivery partners?
I'm planning to spend about 2 months in either Uttarakhand or Himachal Pradesh working as a food/grocery delivery partner (Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit, etc.) to save money for future travel.
I won't be bringing my own bike, so I'm trying to understand how delivery partners in these states manage transportation.
- Do most riders own their bikes or rent them?
- If they rent, where do they usually get them from?
- Are there local bike rental services that work with delivery partners?
- Would an EV rental be a better option than a petrol bike?
- Do these cities have services like Yulu or other rental e-bikes/e-scooters that delivery partners commonly use?
- Which cities in Uttarakhand or Himachal would you recommend for a good balance of earnings, rent, and cost of living?
I'd especially love to hear from people who have actually worked as delivery partners in these areas.
Thanks!
