Are there Anime that's similar to the movie "City of Ember" and the TV show "Silo"?

I'm looking for an anime with a dark, serious, dystopian setting where humanity lives in an isolated underground or enclosed civilization, similar to City of Ember and the TV show Silo.

For anyone unfamiliar with them: both stories involve people living underground in a massive enclosed society, largely cut off from the outside world. There’s a strong sense of mystery surrounding why they live there, what happened to the outside world.

I also prefer to avoid the typical “kawaii uwu” style, overly comedic characters, excessive fan service, or female characters who are extremely exaggerated/over-the-top. I’m looking for something more serious, grounded, atmospheric, and mature.

Can we just stop pretending as if only "White people" are racist towards Indians when there are also other "minorities" doing the same thing like they do?

How long are you guys pretending that White people are the only one that's racist towards Indians or South-Asians in general.

It's not only White folks everyone of every race are racist towards Indians. Especially on social media!!

Speaking of "POC" where tf are they I don't see them speaking on social media when it comes to racism against Indians and holding their own community accountable.

Edit:

By Indians I also mean Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Sri Lankans since "Indian" is used as an umbrella term to describe South-Asians by racist. So when I talk about "Indians" like it or not you guys are also included. They see you one eay or the other as an "Indian". So it definitely also effect you.

What if the Black hole is an is a living being?

https://preview.redd.it/45f9lb8u3nih1.png?width=766&format=png&auto=webp&s=dea7349e33cba8beb632d65c9dd18e5709916947

[Look, I don't believe this myself, but I really like the idea I came up with.]

What if black holes, from our current understanding, are not merely cosmic objects, but living entities? What we perceive as them “consuming” planets could simply be their natural way of feeding and sustaining themselves.

Perhaps we simply don't recognize them as alive because their form of life is completely unlike anything we've encountered before.

This raises another question: is our understanding of life too closely tied to the concept of an organism? Everything we recognize as alive is based on the forms of life we've encountered on Earth. Yet even here, life can take forms radically different from our own. A jellyfish, for example, has no brain, heart, or centralized nervous system like we do, yet we recognize it as a living organism.

Maybe life doesn't necessarily have to exist as an organism in the way we understand one. Something as fundamentally different as a black hole could, hypothetically, possess its own form of life, one that we simply don't have the framework to recognize.

Could a black hole, then, exist beyond the framework through which we, as humans, define and understand life?

Why do pets get a free pass around newborns when family has to be vaccinated and sanitized?

So I’ve noticed this trend lately, especially on social media, where parents seem to set a lot of boundaries for their own family members and friends when they have a newborn. I completely understand the need for certain boundaries, but sometimes I feel like it can go a bit too far.

For example, some parents expect family members to be vaccinated, thoroughly clean, and basically free of any bacteria before touching the newborn. Some even don’t allow family members or friends to visit the baby at all. I understand wanting people to be clean and careful around a newborn, and I definitely agree that certain boundaries are necessary.

And yet… despite all of this, when it comes to their beloved pets, they don’t seem to put any damn boundaries on their dogs the same way they do with their own family members. Their own blood relatives have to follow all these strict rules, but somehow the pets get a free pass.

I can’t be the only one noticing the crystal clear hypocrisy of these new parents! Their own damn pets carry more bacteria than their family members or friends, yet somehow the family has to follow strict rules before they’re even allowed near the baby.

Seriously, WTF is wrong with these Millennial/Gen-Z parents? (btw, I’m a Millennial too!)

What if.. Data centers are just Power Sources for the underground cities?

Why do Data centers even need water? Why did Jeff Bezos installed a clock underground? Why are so many ultra rich building high tech underground bunkers?

Why is it so extremely difficult to find a good explanation of Ghusl?

Either these websites explain too much and confuse me, or their explanations just aren’t clear?

However, with Wudu it’s so easy to find, plus there are clear illustrations. I prefer children drawing it's so easy to understand!

I was wondering if you guys know a good website, simple e-book, and also illustrations on how to perform Ghusl? I'm still learning, but it's so confusing?

That being said, to my understanding and what I've read there are 2 methods of Ghusl, right?:

  • Sunnah way
  • Fard way

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

So I did some digging, and this is what I’ve gathered. Please correct me if I’m wrong or if I misunderstood anything. I’d like to share what I’ve noted so far. By the way, I follow the Hanafi Madhab, so I’m not even sure whether the way of performing Ghusl differs within the madhab.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Ghusl (Sunnah method):

Step 1 - Intention (Niyyah)
Make the intention in your heart to perform Ghusl.

Step 2 - Bismillah
Begin by saying Bismillah.

Step 3 - Hands (3x)
Wash both hands up to and including the wrists.

Step 4 - Private Parts

  1. Clean the front private parts with the left hand
  2. Clean the back private parts with the left hand
  3. The right hand does not touch the private parts

Step 5 - Wudu during Ghusl

  1. Hands → 3x
  2. Mouth → 3x sunnah
  3. Nose → 3x sunnah
  4. Face → 3x sunnah
  5. Arms → 3x sunnah
  6. Head → 1x sunnah
  7. Ears → 1x sunnah

>After step 7 (ears) you can wash your feet immediately or delay it until the end of Ghusl.

Step 6 - Water over the Head (3x)

  1. Pour water over the head 3 times
  2. Massage with fingers so water reaches the entire scalp
  3. Make sure no single hair remains dry

Step 7 - Wash the Entire Body

  1. Wash the right side of your body first → minimum 1x (obligatory), recommended 3x (sunnah)
  2. Then wash the left side → minimum 1x (obligatory), recommended 3x (sunnah)

Make sure no spot remains dry:

  • Armpits, Navel, Behind the ears, Between the toes, Under the hair
  • 1x washing the entire body is obligatory → as long as the whole body gets wet, the Ghusl is valid
  • 3x washing is sunnah → extra thoroughness as the Prophet ﷺ did

Step 8 - Washing the Feet (optional)

  1. Wash your feet now if you skipped them during wudu
  2. Make sure the ankles are fully washed (as in regular wudu)
  3. Right foot first, then left foot (sunnah)

Step 9 - Dua after Ghusl

Transliteration:
Ash-hadu al laa ilaaha illal Laahu wa ash-hadu anna Moehammadan 'abduhu wa Rasoeluh. Allaahumma-dj'alnie minat-Tawwaabiena wa-dj'alnie minal-Mutatahhirien.

Meaning:
"I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is the One and He has no partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. O Allah, make me one of those who repent to You and one of those who purify themselves."

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Regarding step 1 (intention), I’ve read that the intention should be in the heart. However, is it okay if I also say it out loud? For example: “I intend to perform ghusl to purify myself from impurity and to become pure for Allah.”

I prefer saying it out loud because it gives me a sense of ease and reassurance. Is that acceptable?

I’m not sure whether saying the dua in step 9 is specifically recommended, but I still choose to say it...

Anyway What you guys think? Especially people of knowledge?

Another thing could you guys explain how the Fard version work? I mean the Sunnah way is way too exhausted if I'm being honest!

Noticed weird spikes in YouTube's Most Replayed graph... every one was a minor

https://preview.redd.it/alctkm0mu8fh1.png?width=1554&format=png&auto=webp&s=7945cdfc90b9e7e19adac7e4ad4d38b75cca8e9f

So I was watching some Youtube video and saw a video as recommendation. So out of curiosity I clicked on the video and it was a White dude in his mid 20s walking through the street of Manila.. I watched probably 30 seconds of the video and though of nothing else...

But then I notice these peaks in these gray graph (which I highlighted in the picture)! So I did an experiment and every time I clicked to one of those peaks each time you see a girl a minor in the video (except the last one that was a women)! I though I was crazy so I Google it and these gray graph peaks basically means "Most replayed".

What kind of sick person replays these part of the video's..? Only P3dophiles look at these kind of stuff!

Having said this... There something really off about White men traveling to poor areas in Asia!

[btw this is the video you will notice it too while you at it click also on his Youtuber channel and tell me the thumbnail isn't sus?]

I've never finished a single book in my life.. How do I build a reading habit?

I’ve never finished a book in my entire life. I always start with good intentions, read a few pages, but then my focus completely disappears. I end up rereading the same paragraphs over and over because it doesn’t stick, and eventually I just give up.

I really want to change this and build a consistent reading habit. Reading feels like such a valuable skill for personal growth and focus, but I’m struggling hard.

Does anyone have tips or systems that helped them build a reading habit from zero? Especially if you also have trouble focusing or staying consistent.

Things I’m struggling with:

  • Mind wandering while reading
  • Having to reread everything multiple times
  • Losing motivation quickly

Any advice, routines, book recommendations, or techniques would be greatly appreciated!

I've never finished a single book in my life... How do I start?

Throughout my life I’ve never actually finished a book. Not even once. I always start, read a few pages, and then… that’s it. I just stop.

The problem is I can’t really focus when I read. My mind wanders everywhere and it’s super frustrating. Sometimes I have to read the same sentence or paragraph like 3 times before it actually makes sense in my head. Because of that I usually just give up.

Does anyone have tips or tricks that helped them? I really want to change this.

Also, quick question: I’ve heard that when people read, they can see the story playing in their head like a movie. Is that actually true? When I read I just see text. Nothing plays in my imagination. Is that normal?

Would love to hear your advice!

Why is Chatgpt (the free version) extremely limited compared to a few years ago?

I haven't used ChatGPT for about a year, and now that I'm back, I'm noticing some pretty big changes. For example, I can only upload one image at a time, and longer conversations seem to lose context or slow down fairly quickly. I've been using Claude, deepseek, gemini and sometimes grok in the meantime, which handles these things better for now, but I'm genuinely curious has anyone else noticed this shift? Is this a known change to the free tier, or am I missing something?

I used to enjoy Chatgpt because it was free of use.. Wtf happend?

Someone needs to say this... Why do some Desis on this sub assume their bad family experience reflects all of us, and blame it all on 'culture'?

I swear, just because your family treated you like sh*t doesn't mean every Desi family is the same. We're not some f*cking hive mind.

Why do some people on this sub act like their personal trauma is the universal Desi experience? Yes, there are real problems in parts of our community toxic parenting, excessive pressure, emotional blackmail etc. But not every Desi household is toxic, controlling, or emotionally abusive. STOP acting as if we all are like one! There are plenty of supportive, loving, and functional Desi families. Don't generalise and assume all families are the same!

If you can’t accept that and keep turning your INDIVIDUAL experience into “this is Desi culture”, seriously get help. At this point you're just a self-hating Desi and your goal is just to vent your hatred on Desis.

Stop GENERALIZING millions of Desis based on your bad experiences and blaming it all on “Desi culture.” We can talk about real issues without painting EVERY Desi parent and family with the same toxic brush.
