I only ask because I get married in about 6 months and I LOVE how my current self tanner is looking on me so I would hate for it to stop working before my wedding. I’ve seen talk on tik tok about self tan resistance after awhile? I was curious if this is just a “tan blindness” sort of thing or if it is actually real?

I get married in June of next year. My dad and I ran to the venue this morning to drop off a check. There was mulch absolutely strode out everywhere, overgrown and leaning trees, dead bushes, very dirty fences, a fence project that they started on a few months ago half painted (this is a fence you get married infront of. it is now half white and half wood color), a broken fountain (stone is falling in), overgrown grass, hanging limbs, a dirty entry way, bricks on the walking path that had fallen out,etc. A lot of these are not just little nitpicky things, the venue almost looks like it has been abandoned now. These are in main guest and photo areas. I wouldn’t have worried too much because I could have just went on an off day but, they literally have a wedding there TODAY. I was shocked that a wedding could take place in an area that looks so dirty.

When I booked the venue, it was much more clean but there were a few projects that they said they were going to do (like cleaning the overgrown photo area, fixing the broken fountain-at that time it was just not working, it was structurally okay., putting in a new small bridge because the current is worn down, adding a new lightbulb in the area because it is broken and the area is very dark). It has been well over a year and they haven’t done any of this yet.

I am getting married in the very hot state of Alabama so, I am hoping that it just looks so bad because it’s been hot so everything is dying off.

I am very worried though. The actual ceremony area and reception area do look very good but, everything in between does look very run down. I don’t think I would have booked a year ago if it would’ve been like this.

It does state in my contract that they will upkeep the venue but, it also states something along the lines of that the venue is what it will be (kinda getting at that if promised projects aren’t completed, no action can be taken). I know everything will look more alive in summer but, i’m still worried.

It is too late to change venues now so, I don’t really even know what I am asking for. I guess I just had to tell someone.

We always focus and stress on the big things like food, florals, colors, etc. But, what is something small that made the night memorable?

I am just about 6 months out from my wedding. I know that crunch time happens at the very end and I want to try and avoid the stress as much as possible. As the title says, what are some things that you wish you would’ve went ahead and figured out and not left for last minute.

looking at la fortuna and then manual antonio! would love a volcano view in la fortuna.

it will be our honeymoon so, a more romantic feel would be a plus! open to airbnb, hotel, vrbo, etc. as long as safety precautions are in place in reference to break ins (although i know it’s just best practice to not leave valuables in the rooms) and where it won’t be too hard to reach with a rental car! it will be late May.

which do you prefer? and why?

Hi everyone! I wanted to start off by saying that I apologize if any of these questions are obvious/answered. I have tried to do a lot of research over the past few months so that I am not asking repetitive questions.

My fiance and I are seriously considering Costa Rica for our honeymoon for around May 21-28. I know this is considered “wet season” so i’m not sure if this is a bad idea or okay. I know it’ll depend on the area we choose.

To help answer these questions, here are some things we would love to do: see sloths, and all of the beautiful birds (we love to animal watch! it is our main goal), zip lining would be fun, relaxing and looking at pretty views (ocean, waterfall, maybe the volcano - but not required.)

Some of my questions:

- For first time out of country travelers (traveling from the state of Georgia in the USA), which one or two areas should we focus on? We only have 7 days so it will likely have to be 1-2 locations max. Also not sure which airport we would fly into.

- What is the best way to go about accommodations? I’ve seen that resorts/all inclusives are not really the best way to go. Airbnbs may be the most budget friendly but, i’ve heard that there has been instances of break ins at these. We are normally AirBnb people and of course know that looking at reviews is important!

- Is it advisable for first time visitors to rent a car? While we are unfamiliar with the specific terrain, we do practically live up a mountain where a gravel/dirt road is the only way to reach. We love the idea of renting a car for the freedom of being able to go on our own time. I worry about riding a shuttle because I get extremely car sick if i’m not in the front seat of a car!

- Other than just using common sense, is there any thing we need to specifically worry about safety wise (food/crime)? Food/water safety is a big concern of mine because I have major health anxiety about food illness.

- Is there cell service in a lot of the more heavily tourist/populated areas?

- How deep do I need to dive into learning Spanish? I took 5 years of Spanish throughout highschool and college but it is still pretty broken?

is this a thing? I just took my fifth dose of 140 mg. I can fall asleep very easily, but between the hours of 12 AM to about 5 AM, I wake up about every 30 minutes. Is there anything that can be done to help this? i’ve never had trouble sleeping even whenever I was little, so this is the only thing I can think of.

Hey everyone, my fiancés grandmother is having major surgery for breast cancer (unsure what specific kind of surgery) on Friday. We are wanting to get her a small gift before her surgery.

She is older so, she doesn’t really understand gift cards, technology, or other similar things. She has ENDLESS books, sudoku books, crossroads, and word searches. We have gotten her a ton of blankets over the years and her little room cannot hold anymore. She does not enjoy coloring.

edit to add: she does live with my fiancés parents (her son and daughter in law). so thankfully, she will have someone there 24/7 with her to provide help. we are still of course going to go over and help with cleaning, cooking, etc.

Buffet: ≈$50 usd

I have been at 1 bead for probably 6 months now. I stayed on 2 beads for even longer than that. I started tapering back in 2022 from 90mg -> 60mg (abruptly before i found this group) and then i came from 60 mg all the way down using the slow taper method described here.

i have very major anxiety surrounding drops (specifically with nausea and dizziness, which i know is weird but it’s just one of my quirks), probably do the the withdrawal i experienced with my first major drop. when i dropped from 2 beads to 1 bead, i didn’t have a negative experience.

I have done the taper right (probably even way slower than i should have), but I am still scared. I think this medication has just been a major part of my life for the past 6 years so, i’m scared to let it go. Every single part of me wants this poison out of my body but, i’m scared there will be some major change when it’s gone. In reality, my dose is probably so minuscule that I may not even notice it’s gone.

I’ve decided that this week will be the week. I am going to take my last one and celebrate. I am almost out of my prescription and my brand is no longer available so, i don’t want to get a whole new prescription for this. Any words of advice for those who have been here?

please help me stop. tips, tricks, facts, etc.

i realized today just how bad it is. i upped my frequency and my skin is purging (also to add, i tried vaseline for dryness and that made the break out a lot worse) and now i have open wounds all over my face because i have picked multiple times a day throughout these last three weeks of purging. my skin finally started to look better this morning but, now of course it looks awful.

i’ve vouched today to try to stop this habit. i have two questions:

1.) how can i help my skin calm down and heal up? do i need to pause tret (supposed to apply tmr) since i have open wounds?
2.) how can i stop picking. i know ultimately it’s just a me choice but i am in need of tricks.

this picking is not out of anxiety, it’s purely an adhd habit from boredom.

routine:
AM: water wash, the ordinary moisturizer + HA, the ordinary sunscreen
PM: byoma creamy jelly cleanser, purito calming oat moisturizer, treatinoin .025% 4x per week, purito calming oat moisturizer.

I’ve made a few posts in here before and done a TON of research and i’ve about driven myself crazy! But now i know what we do and don’t want! Outside of USA is okay.

- Dates will be appx May 21-28 of 2027
- It’ll be my first flight so, I don’t want to venture too far (preferably less than 7-8 hrs) from ATL incase I don’t handle it well.
- We do not want to go sit on a beach. We are not beach people and we are currently tired of being in the blazing sun 😂
- We don’t want the trip to be revolved fully around hiking. I know, we seem picky but we just don’t love hiking!
- We love to see pretty scenery, observing wildlife, trying new restaurants, FH loves breweries but I do not drink (so preferably no places that are mainly for drinking), relaxing, shopping, breakfast places
- Vancouver island is a place that we have come across that looks very interesting to us!
- Budget of appx $5,000
