My girlfriend and I are considering going to our first con - Scaradise in Tampa, FL. I'm curious to hear what people's experiences are with being able to have a short chat or conversation with the celebrities?

To be clear, neither of us have been to one before, separately or together.

Obviously some celebs are going to be busier than others, and thankfully the ones I wanted to have a conversation or even chat with (if possible) don't seem to be too popular at the moment (lower costs, not sold out for photos, etc.)

For a Type 1 Diabetic who has never been to a gathering (but genuinely curious to go one day), is this something that's feasible?

From my understanding of the gathering(s), they are entirely outdoors, not the safest at times (depending on several factors of course), and generally lacking the ability to keep one's hygiene taken care of properly. It also seems like you would have to keep everything you bring with you on you at all times.

If any of this is untrue or there is other information you all think I should know, I'd love to educate myself. I'd love to visit one year (used to listen to their old music back in 2004) and fully experience it all. It seems like a world of its own, but I just want to be prepared.

EDIT: For those of you who don't know much about Type 1 diabetes, I would need to bring my insulin pump (worn at all times), multiple backup supplies, sugars, waters. and a small cooler for my insulin.

What is the best choice for a modern-looking, tapered, 7"-9" pair of men's casual shorts?

Price Range: No higher than $40 per pair preferably!

I've purchased my casual shorts from a multitude of places, including Marshalls, Under Armour, Amazon, and several others. I have yet to find a pair that fits and feels perfectly in all aspects - to be clear, I'm in FL and it's summer so I'm looking for an airy, light, versatile feel, although it's not necessarily a deal breaker.

So far, my two favorite pairs have been from Callaway and Quicksilver. The Quicksilver had that great material and lightweight feel, but we're longer than I'd prefer. The Callaway shorts were right where they needed to be and fit pretty well, but lacked that lightweight, versatile feel.

Any suggestions?

How to treat or soothe irritation *after* the sensor/CGM has been applied? (In my case, the G7)

I haven't had irritation from the sensors in a couple of years now, but it's back. Initially, I thought it was just my overpatch which I also reuse regularly (I go between the Not Just a Patch and Lexcam Overpatches), but after taking it off it was clear that it was the sensor itself.

I know many have issues with the adhesive, but I have also had issues with the actual sensor that goes into your body. It seems that this may be the case, but I'm hoping it isn't.

Anyways, any suggestions on how to soothe or treat irritation on my current Dexcom G7 sensor on me? I use Control-IQ, so I'd like to figure the sound as soon as possible.

I've also tried applying a protective barrier before applications in the past with no luck so far (Skin-Tac and similar products). I know Flonase is recommended to be applied before application, but I have concerns with it possibly effecting my readings where the actual sensor wire enters.

Any kind advice or suggestions is greatly welcomed!

Best firm mattress with an adequate comfort layer as well as ample support from Costco in 2026?

I currently have the Sealy Posturepedic Pro Omak Valley 13" Hybrid, but I have found over the few weeks I've had it, the comfort layer is definitely lacking well... comfort. At least this is how I feel for side sleeping most of the time.

I'm 5'10 and 175 lb. My girlfriend also sleeps with me who is about 150 and 5'. We definitely like to cuddle close, but You lack of a decent comfort layer males that difficult.

What are everyone's suggestions on alternative Costco mattresses?

Need a reliable, easy to use trimmer for maintaining a very short beard? (Photo for reference)

I've tried the OneBlade, OneBlade 360, and even the Philips Norleco All-in-One 7000 Series Trimmer - all have given me issues.

The Oneblade's adjustable attachment consistently comes off on its own with the slightest bit of pressure (regardless of the specific model) consistently, and I've tried three of them. I have regularly replaced the blades, even when one was brand new to be safe. Another issue I have with them is inconsistent trimming.

For the all in one 7000 series, it simply takes a while, (although may be better than the OneBlade), and vibrates way too much for my taste.

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Where does everyone purhcase their OEM or aftermarket parts from? And what brands do you go with for your Lexus?

I've heard great things about Rock Auto about a decade ago, and it seems they still have a great reputation. At first, the website layout threw me off, especially the lengthy shipping times years ago (2+ weeks). I figured they simply didn't invest money or time making it aesthetically pleasing, and the shipping times are much more reasonable than I once saw.

For brands, I'm pretty lost.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Sealy Posturepedic Pro Omak Valley 13" Firm Hybrid Mattress Review - A few days in

I'm currently sleeping on the [Sealy Posturepedic Pro Omak Valley 13" Firm Hybrid Mattress](https://www.costco.com/p/-/sealy-posturepedic-pro-omak-valley-13-firm-hybrid-mattress/4000431641?adobe\_mc=TS%3D1782836576%7CMCMID%3D75254481867349861956622957054953780445%7CMCORGID%3D97B21CFE5329614E0A490D45@AdobeOrg&mboxSession=e2126dcd-1941-414b-a483-1d9bee02c893&sh=true&nf=true), after going through two different mattresses before this. One was SweetNight, some new small brand from Amazon (turned out to be garbage real quick), and another was Nectar, who almost everyone knows.

I wasn't too surprised about the first, but the second I was. I generally like medium firm I believed because that's what my last Ashley Furniture Chime Medium-Firm full memory foam was and I loved it, but it eventually went and then there were the complaints of fiberglass on the outside recently.

The Nectar mattress on the other hand was very soft to me, and it definitely had that sinking feeling, which I realize I hate at my age (mid 30s). I bought the Premier Hybrid 13" Medium-Firm. Definitely didn't feel medium firm to me, more like Medium-Plush.

Anyways, I eventually purchased the Sealy Omak Valley Hybrid Mattress from Costco, which I have been sleeping on for about half a week now. It definitely takes a little adjustment time for my back, but being through a few mattresses in my 30s I think that may just be normal (in addition to having back and hip issues). Although my back is in pain as it was when it was adjusting to the other mattresses, it's significantly less. And most importantly, it's getting better, along with how long I sleep without waking up. I will go 8 hours straight without getting up to pee, which is saying a lot as a Tpw 1 Diabetic who drinks a ton of water.

Sorry for the long spiel, hopefully this helps! And Costco has an outstanding return policy in addition to significantly lower prices than anywhere else, which is another reason I went through them.

***TLDR:*** I'm currently using the Sealy Posturepedic Omak Valley Line from Costco, and it's the best out of the 2 beds I've tried. Good to great. $1,300 before tax for a firm king. [Link here](https://www.costco.com/p/-/sealy-posturepedic-pro-omak-valley-13-firm-hybrid-mattress/4000431641?adobe\_mc=TS%3D1782836576%7CMCMID%3D75254481867349861956622957054953780445%7CMCORGID%3D97B21CFE5329614E0A490D45@AdobeOrg&mboxSession=e2126dcd-1941-414b-a483-1d9bee02c893&sh=true&nf=true)

I'm hoping this can help others that are going through the inevitable mattress nightmare search if they don't have thousands upon thousands to throw down on the mattress. If anyone wants any updates, just ask. I'll do my best to respond.

Is there such a thing as a great yoga and gym/workout mat?

I've searched a good deal, and there are many companies who advertise this. Is there one that is as versatile to be used for both areas, and that works well?

What is everyone's experience with Sealy Posturepedic firm mattresses from Costco?

My girlfriend and I have both have a good deal of hip pain and back pain, and both turn from our sides to our back a lot. We tried nectar which we are currently sleeping on, and it's too soft for us. They only have medium firm or softer.

I looked on Costco, and the best seems to be the Sealy. The reviews look pretty good and it's something that works with my adjustable bed frame, I'm like Stern's and Foster versions they offer. I'm also not a huge fan of full innerspring.

Best place/website to buy a U.S. newspaper from the day, month, and year you were born?

Having absolutely no experience with these, I went to AI first (Claude) to ask it what it suggested. Here were the results:

*Historic Newspapers — Best overall. Huge archive, authenticated originals, lots of gift packaging options.

AnyDate — Best for US papers specifically.

Rare Newspapers — Best if you want the full paper, not just the front page.

Golden Moments — Best if you want it presented in a nice personalized book*

Does anyone have any suggestions of their own, or comments on these listed? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Just finished My Name is Earl. (Spoilers)

I was completely taken back as to how the show ended, it just didn't seem it was meant to end the way it did.

Thankfully, I searched a bit and found this video (which I'm sure the vast majority of you know about or have seen before), but it was at least comforting to know it wasn't meant to end on such a random cliffhanger.

Separately, what was everyone's favorite part of the show?
