Mortal Shell 2 - buy now or wait?

It is released. Deluxe edition got 3 days early access

Now its been out for a few days, im curious what the verdict is. Im waiting on relic the first guardian cuz i heard its not all that great

The gameplay looks really good, but im worried its more soulsborne than mortal shell, seeing the new abilities and combat system. MS1 was janky, but it was distinct, it stood out. Im hoping 2 brings back that uniqueness

OGRR Toe Biter cheese (bottom of the pond, NOT IN THE ABYSS)

As some of you might know already, theres a real nasty mf at the bottom of the pond, in a cave opposite the dive platform entrance. So nasty in fact I thought it was an ogre leviathan until I didnt get glowing ooze after killing it. Its well-hidden behind some rocks in the cave. Look for the blob of raw science its guarding

Make sure theres a koi fish nearby when you do this or it won't work. This cheese method is fairly simple, but can be tricky if you dont run like hell. Swim into the cave and towards the raw science to aggro the toe biter, then hop on ur buggy and run like hell for the surface. Draw it towards the koi fish. If you're lucky, the koi will aggro on the toe biter instead of you and kill it for you

It doesn't drop much, but it does give a trinket

Should i get Duskfade?

Looks like a fun game. Love the aesthetics. Find it interesting the sword looks like a keyblade, but its a hand for a clock, not a key

Im into platforming and metroidvanias. Good story and world. Difficulty isnt a turn off for me if its solid in other aspects. Also love kingdom hearts

Im looking for a solid platformer. Solid puzzle solving, good story, challenging but manageable and well-rounded combat. Doesn't have to be s tier, but if can keep me hooked for a few hours, I'll be happy

Should I get Valkyrie Saga?

I like the gameplay footage, the concept, but god I hate the art style. I know it’s meant to be retro, but it’s hard on the eyes in this case. I’m super into metroidvanias and always on the lookout for unique ones

Is it any good?

Romeo secret message 0.o

I can't believe I didnt see this before. Romeo was trying to warn us about geppeto with that play he put on. Its all there. The nameless puppet, the heart, killing P to bring Carlo back to life. I finally figured it out while playing it on s2. He used the play cuz he knew p can't understand the puppet language

Voidwrought - Tips for The Astronomer?

I finally reached the Herald boss in The Obsidian Oberservatory and dude’s kicking my ass. I’m having trouble dodging the white balls, even with The Assassin equipped. Other advice welcome too

Is the halo 1 remake worth getting?

I’m a huge diehard fan of the series, but the remake feels…idk, it’s not vibing for me. I really don’t like the changes they made to some of the cutscenes and dialogue. Some of the changes are excellent and make more sense, but others especially in dialogue are weird compared to the original. Cortana especially. She’s trying way too hard to do the iconic cortana sarcasm and snarkiness. It often feels fake, forced

Voidwrought - FINALLY beat pestulant prince :D

That was waaaaay harder than it needed to be srsly :( but it’s over

I’m kinda disappointed. I thought for sure this elevator would lead to the salt vats, the place that broken elevator leads to in the gardens. Instead it goes down a few floors to the bottom floor of the court. How anticlimactic

I kinda gave up towards the end, not thinking this would be the time I’d beat him, so I stopped dodging as fervently

Anyone give me a rundown of the lore?

ATM, from what I can gather, the world the game takes place in was attacked by some kind of lovecraftian horror called the Red Star. The surface is uninhabitable and the survivors were forced to flee underground. The red star now feeds on the planet as everything slowly decays. For some reason ppl started worshiping the red star and it’s corruption spread to the underground kingdom as a result

And that’s all I got. I’ve been reading all the text logs, but it just paints a more and more bizarre picture. I’m not sure who we’re playing as, what their role is in the world, or what the ultimate goal of the game is

Idk what it is I’m doing wrong. I figured out his tells and I still can’t kill him. This fight is more endurance than dps check

Voidwrought - Post-apocalyptic Lovecraft

Ill write a full review once I beat the game

In a world where the surface burns in apocalyptic fire from an entity known only as 'The Red Star', the survivors have fled deep underground. Many turn to faith and the gods for salvation and find only silence. Years pass and monsters flood the tunnels, borne of the horrors of the surface. As one such survivor, you seek answers. You will travel through the forsaken underground world in search of the gods and uncover the horrors waiting below

This is a really fun game. It can be really hard with no parrying or dodging mechanics, but the world, lore and art are more than worth, especially at only $20

The description pegs it as a cosmic horror game, but I dont really see it yet. The Lovecraft inspiration is definitely there however. Its got heavy eldritch horror themes

One thing I really hate/love is the demo. It is NOT in the game. Instead, it mashes a bunch of abilities up into a small area to show you what the game is like. On the other hand, it does give a solid taste of the game, better than the first 'chapter' would've shown you

Its avaliable on all current gen platforms
