Accepted a very unprofitable job
Completely misread the screen with the sun in my eyes. I thought said £8 for 6 miles
Turned out to be £9 for 16 miles. And had nothing on the way back

Light hearted but whats the most nuts a squirrel has gone in your garden
I've had one break into my shed and take every single country conker. And had them uproot every conker sapling. And currently digging a hole in every pot. The man next door brings home doners and naan from his chippy and lays it out as a banquet and they're frantically trying to bury the naan
I have noticed people seem to behave worse when we get the first proper summer evenings and when we slip into winter nights.
I had to pull over twice on a 10 mile journey today to let others pass rather than being harrassed. And that journey ended having to take a total detour because two Muppets going fast on a sharp corner on a country lane which was a 30, managed to enter a ditch and at least one of them overturned. I don't yet know if that was an example of Darwinism. That accident took over 3 ambulances I counted and about seven police cars which could have been put to better use for the taxpayer and a fire truck
I'm an Ubereats delivery driver in the UK in a town with a large (South East) Asian population. There's a lot of halal food and generally you'd expect many places to be.
Some Subway branches here are Muslim owned. But there are a surprisingly large amount that are not.
There is one near me that has a halal certificate. I won't question it but at least there is something. And the owner is Muslim
There is another that sells real porcine products. I don't know the manager but the workers are always English. I asked them if it was halal and they said no.
I know on these apps you can filter for halal and it can default branches but I have noticed some Muslim people are buying from the latter store and they tend to be meat products (Asian sounding too like Chicken Tikka sandwich)
I've been alerting these people. Is it any of my business? At the least I would like to know if it was me. There's no deception by anyone here but there seems to be a lack of checking by customers and I feel awful telling them there may be an issue
New to the game. Bought a limited edition purely for personal pleasure last week. Now sad it's gone out of stock as the design is really nice and I wanted some more
Why don't they produce more of some of them. It seems they never come back in stock
And I don't know how cynical to be , I won't accuse him of certain views because of his family background
But I will say I think he felt it was a career boost to him to defend Israel. McSweeney, Mandelson and a couple of others who were in his immediate team were Blairites, who wanted to replicate Blair's favour with Murdoch's media and with the American influence felt there was a lot of funding to be had by being pro Israel
A lot of that stuff doesn't fly here and not for this generation
For anyone that grew up in a small town in little England, who might not have strong feelings of admiration towards any foreign state or peoples, who have an old fashioned belief in the values of Britain post war, and in the British system of fairness and balance, it felt hugely odd to say the least to have our institutions attacked by Starmer and then the British public directly and by extension and to be called anti Semitic. Starmer didn't curry favours with anyone, least of all getting heckled by the same people he claimed to be a defender of
When you are a little small c conservative like me, his attitude has been abrasive . We don't want football hooligans here ,neither British, nor foreign, and not attached to any military accused of war crimes (leaving out the G word here purposefully). We also don't take kindly to being called anti Semitic because we don't believe any people should be crushed and bombed like fish in a barrel from a warzone from which exit has been purposely and constructively denied. We will defend Jewish people and all other people equally
Let Starmer look forward to the day when he will be indicted. And let him look forward to the day when he will face a citizens arrest for genocide in a fancy restaurant in London with his family like Blair has for Iraq
His behaviour didn't save him or let him serve a single term. but it raised many eyebrows and a lot of nausea
I'm an Uber driver and honestly some vendors treat us like absolute scum. The excuse is drivers are rude... well I'm not. I'm polite and patient and courteous.
And one particular supermarket I go to they literally scowl at us for turning up and asking to collect things. Uber literally told us to turn up for collection
To all Gregg's staff I salute you and I shop with you as a result
Not sure if there's a solution past moving them permanently.
I've moved into a friend's house temporarily while they're going through a bad spot. The house is at the top of a long flight of stone stairs with a small corner at the top tucked away.
The neighbours just informed us that a pair of young men ran to the top and one of them took a piss on the plants. And this has happened twice now
Why do people do this 🤦
Starmer cannot be serious. He's spent his entire term trying to subvert our democracy and making a mockery of international law when it suits him. And now he wants a heavyweight on board.
It's extremely late. And all that guff about everything and everyone being anti Semitic was a distraction he didn't need. He has no Statesman in him. Bringing Gordon Brown on board is too little too late
From a Shariah perspective and ethical green pov, can anyone recommend a bank?
I've been with HSBC and found out they are more than happy to cooperate with Israeli settlements and worse
So it begins. The robots taking over. And all our govt can do is encourage it and give them tax breaks to employ less people
I want to use it for some jewellery prices that are not 999.9
I find it astonishing how many homes are rentals when so many people are priced out of their own first home.
And the schemes both Blair and the Tories created to make btl a get rich quick scheme to profit off this basic necessity unnecessarily
Doing this job I've met many people I haven't seen in years school friends, old colleagues, neighbours etc
It's a good side of the job
I see some people spend a lot and have wheels that are extra thin, others have electric which I assume are illegal?, and then you can get a bike for £150 from Halfords.
I'm looking to do food delivery in a city centre
I'm failing interviews that didn't particularly go badly. In the past I'd get immediate offers from the same. Employers have a lot of choice and possibly not enough solid demand to jump into this
...rather than just praying before sleep or missing it.
For me it's extreme tiredness from my work as I do long hours and the cold in this country is incredibly debilitating. Idk if that's common to everyone
When it's the end of the day, when I know it's going to cost me time I can use for rest , when the restaurant was on my way, when I'm getting ignored.
Few times I can see the item on the shelf and completely getting ignored because they're messing round on their phone, or today the bag was getting stapled. Literally one staple done and the second one right there but the phone rings and the person picks it up(second time while preparing this order). I do a few steps round the counter to remind them I am there and it needs a single staple but not even getting registered and I decide to let it go. It's 9° out, it's dark and roads are dangerous in some cities at night. So that was it. I thought go home and rest. Not for you this one.(Also I took my time getting there and it was still not ready )
Should cases like this revive the debate for capital punishment?
