The first half actually has a good idea. Ravi Teja as Trinath, an alcoholic father with a violent past, living with his young daughter near a waterfall and taking up Ayyappa Deeksha because she asks him to. The core message is supposed to be "let girls live without fear". That itself is emotional enough.

But second half onwards, the film forgets that message and goes to the laziest trick in the book.
Every woman in that village is shown as unsafe.

Prostitution track, abuse, assault threats, repeat. All just to make the father angry and make us cry. It felt like the writers thought: if we don't show women in extreme danger, the audience won't feel anything for the father.

My problem is not just Irumudi. This has become a pattern. To show a mother is strong, show her getting assaulted. To show a father loves his daughter, show the daughter is in danger. To show hero is good, show heroine or other women suffering.

You can show a father-daughter bond without using women's bodies as a plot device. Show her dreams, her school life, her fights with her dad, her own bravery. Why does trauma have to be the only way to create emotion?

Even critics called this out. Hollywood Reporter said the film "uses women's bodies to construct a narrative of male saviourism" and that the "cyclical stories of abuse get unnerving after a point."

Irumudi wanted to say girls should be fearless, but it doesn't trust its own message. Instead of showing a fearless girl, it only shows fearful situations so the hero can look like a saviour.

Anyone else felt the same? Is there any recent Telugu film that handled a father-daughter or women's safety story WITHOUT this trope?

Current Base: 19.2 Lakhs

Engineer band base: ∼21.2 Lakhs median
Senior Engineer band: Starts from 26 Lakhs, median 29.6 Lakhs base

If they give 20% hike on my current base: 19.2 * 1.2 = 23.04 Lakhs base

23.04 Lakhs is still below Senior band start of 26 Lakhs.

If promoted to Senior, what is minimum base they have to give to put me in Senior band? Will it be 26 Lakhs+ ?

I joined Qualcomm in June 2025 with ~2 YOE as an Engineer.

The issue is the huge gap between Engineer and Senior Engineer:
Engineer base: usually max ~₹18–20L
Senior Engineer: lateral hires can get ₹28L+ base

Internal promotion may take ~2+ years, and even then may not match lateral-hire pay.

A friend with 2.8 YOE recently joined Qualcomm as Senior Engineer at ₹28L base.

I’m expecting a promotion in AR26. If I don’t get it, I’m seriously considering switching.

IT companies has provided lot of opportunities in India. Ofcourse majority of tax is coming from salaried class.

If this industry is being collapsed in next 4-5 years, Then India will see massive unemployment and extremely dangerous af.

I’m scared literally.

Take a look at how they squeeze every single rupee:

Health & Education Cess (4%): ₹8,918
Interest/Fees (Sec 234B/C): ₹2,723

They track absolutely everything now. Bank interest, every tiny capital gain, salary deductions nothing escapes their automated system.

If a salaried employee makes a minor error, an automated notice is issued immediately.

I don't want to do thus charity service. it's okay label me as Anti national. still i dont want to contribute..

I feel I'm being cheated, Many politicians, business people and others aren't paying tax they're simply evading it by cash transactions.

why should only salaried people do charity service?
