I’ve seen people using ties for curtains more and more often so I thought I’d experiment and see if I like it. Personally I do but I wonder if it makes this look extremely outdated?
Hand crocheted top, vintage cotton skirt, Eileen fisher sandals, tooled leather bag, vintage paisley silk scarf
The first two pictures are rugs I already own. The last image is an AI mock up of the direction I’m trying to take this space. Ideally I’d have a large dark brown rug that will disguise boot prints so this can work as an entryway in the winter, but for now I’m working with what I have. Which one works best here visually?
I am in the process of painting this art but I put it up here just to envision how well it works
Not sure if ai is allowed here but I need help figuring out one of the bigger purchases for this room
Is it that bad? 😂
Also wondering if there are any major improvements that can be done to make everything feel more cohesive
I didn’t buy anything new yet, just shuffled some furniture around. Does the layout in image one feel better than image two?
Some things I’m still considering:
- Replacing the vintage lamp with something modern, maybe a chrome lamp
- Getting short square wood legs for my couch
- Adding some color through subtle salmon pink, burgundy, plum accents
- Maybe a second rod with colored sheers? Not sure because I do like my simple and bright curtain situation
- A nice stone wear vase with florals for the center of the coffee table (waiting on my garden to produce more flowers)
- Get a rug pad now that I’ve decided I like this rug here
Leather vintage purse and boots, thrifted Frye shirt, old navy linen pants, thrifted cotton Nordstrom vest that I hand sewed to be cinchable
I love moody traditional style and emphasis on texture over color. I do like anything garden color though and want to find a fitting way to bring in burgundies, pinks, plums, and always more green
This took two months. I finished right when my rhododendron bloomed for the first time and wow I really wasn’t expecting that color!
Who else visualizes Anya Taylor Joy? Cat like, upturned mouth, petite, wide set eyes, golden blonde hair, cold eyes
I absolutely love the green rug but I feel like maybe it’s too much green? The brick colored rug feels more balanced but it’s less beautiful imo
I love the green one but I feel like it’s too much green? The brick red feels more balanced but it doesn’t make me excited lol
I am so scared to go bold but I think this is a beautiful green to go with for my kitchen reno. Does it seem right to you?
How can I decorate this vintage table without making it look even more dated?
