Michael Giacchino turns 59 years old today. This legendary composer worked the score on films such as The Batman, Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Mission Impossible 3

I love his score on The Batman and Spider-Man: Homecoming. the Batman score gives me chills everytime I listen to it, especially the scene where he walks towards Penguin in the Batmobile.

I’m really glad Bond 26 is forging its own path not copy what’s trendy now.

If Bond 26 were to take heavy inspiration from the John Wick series with the gun-fu, it’d risk feeling too repetitive.

Which James Bond actor could also pull off Bruce Wayne if they were in their prime?

I could see Dalton and Lazenby pull it off. Lazenby has the height, build, and martial arts skills and he even has the look of Bruce Wayne too. For many years, I’ve always thought he’d make a good Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent.

Dalton could also pull off Bruce Wayne because his dark and brooding portrayal of Bond can easily translate into Bruce Wayne. And that glare in the Living Daylights…just imagine that under the cowl.

Psalm 11:5 - a Bible verse taken out of context to justify control over people’s entertainment choices

Yes, we’ve heard this one:

Jehovah doesn’t like us watching violent movies, video games, and sports. And they’ve used Psalm 11:5 “God hates those loving violence.”

But what does the verse actually say? God hates those loving violence. As someone who’s an avid movie and TV buff, I’d like to argue that this verse merely talks about enjoying violence. I don’t think watching movies and tv shows and playing games actually makes you want to do these things in real life; quite the contrary, no one goes out to a bar and stabs people with a pencil because they watch John Wick.

Movies like Taxi Driver often use violence as a way of critiquing violence as well as serve as a cautionary tale to the audience and when audiences idolize certain characters and actions in movies, they miss the point.

However, media literacy is an aspect that unfortunately the GB doesn’t bother using or encouraging.

Ironically, watching war movies like Saving Private Ryan didn’t inspire me to join the army. No, instead it made me despise war even more because of how ugly it is.

This verse is also used to demonize practicing martial arts, not just by JWs but by certain Christian groups. However, although I am not a martial artist myself, I’d argue that 96% of the time, people who practice Judo, Karate, Muay Thai, Boxing, etc. avoid getting into fights unless they have to.

What are some movies that had wasted potential?

I’ll start. Quantum of Solace (2008). It could’ve been a top tier sequel to Casino Royale but unfortunately the writer’s strike ruined everything to the point Daniel Craig had to contribute some of the scripts writing . The more I watch QOS, the more I think it could’ve been Daniel Craig’s From Russia With Love, if it had a polished script, different director, and a more formidable villain and a different theme song!

Why is it met with negativity whenever someone says Peter needs to move on from Michelle Jones and expresses a desire to see him in a new romance?

If we look back at *Far From Home,* their relationship was pretty rushed and we didn’t really get to see why Peter suddenly had such a massive crush on her. She also started out as a pretty flat character in Homecoming.

So why is it wrong to say Peter needs to move on from Michelle Jones? Like does it affect the narrative negatively?

Unpopular opinion: TASM 1 webshooters > Brand New Day webshooters.

TASM 1’s webshooters were very creative whereas Brand New Day’s webshooters looked like door hinges. And the red light that glows every time Andrew shoot out webs remains amazing.
