Found in grandpa’s safe deposit box

I was wondering if anyone could identify what this is.

His safety deposit box was just special documents, a couple pocket watches, 3 metal baseball cards, his coin collection, and a couple sentimental things from his father like his wedding ring.

Then we found this. He never left the US, but worked for a company that had locations all over the world, so I’m not sure if it was gifted to him, maybe a special order collectors “coin”, something that was special to his father…

But identifying what it is at all when his safety deposit box was so small and held so few things, I really want to now what was special about it to him. He was not one to keep unnecessary items and what he did have was very organized. He dressed very blue collar, didn’t have interest in chachkis, so finding this unique ornamental thing with no discernible use was odd.

He was born in the 30’s, I don’t know if that time frame helps.

Thank you for any help!

Are you even able to build a manor in the latest update?

No matter what I try, it always ends up with one or more laborers freezing in place with polished stone in their hand. The manor construction project will have one or more missing pieces, and it's because these guys are just standing there with the materials, frozen in time.

I've tried different time speeds, I've tried reloading the save, I've tried restarting the same, I've even tried just loading before the manor is even started to try again from scratch. No matter how simple the manor plans are, this happens every time.

I've never had this issue in previous builds. Anyone else having a problem with building a manor, or am I just unlucky?

Edit: It appears to be an issue beyond the caste planner. I loaded a save from before I even tried building the manor, and there are frozen farmers that also refuse to move. Nothing works on these zombies either, you can change their jobs, delete their home, and they'll just stand there for eternity. This is a game-breaking bug, as far as I'm concerned. Something like this should definitely be at the top of their list for bugs to fix on the next update.

Extra edit: This has been happening on a year 7 map with under 100 people. You would expect an issue like this with much higher populations.

How did I just sail from Bronze to Silver in Modified Ranked Brawl without losing a single match?

Does everyone one just suck? I'm not even using a tough commander. It's [[Juri, Master of the Revue]], a fucking uncommon. Is Silver going to be this easy? What's your experience been like playing this new(ish) format?

Win a game of commander for 11BBBRRRR

  1. Cast Repeated Reverberation.
  2. Cast Sorin Markov (or you could already have him out with at least 3 loyalty).
  3. Activate Sorin's -3 loyalty ability, targeting an opponent. It gets copied twice from Repeated Reverberation, letting you target the other two opponents, bringing all of them down to 10 life.
  4. Cast Mizzix's Mastery, targeting Repeated Reverberation in your graveyard.
  5. Cast Hidetsugu's Second Rite, targeting an opponent. It gets copied twice from Repeated Reverberation, letting you target the other two opponents, bringing all of them down to zero life for the win.

Or perhaps Joe eats Mounds bars because they're one of the few candy bars he can reach...

Does anyone play "lock" decks, and do people actually let you play them?

I know stax is generally frowned upon, so this post is mostly directed towards players that are okay playing with and against stax (locks specifically). Assuming these locks are accompanied by an actual way to close out the game, do you frequently run into issues while trying to play these decks?

I've been brewing a [[Zur, Eternal Schemer]] deck that prevents opponents from casting spells by turning [[Lunar Force]] into an enchantment creature and equipping it with [[Assault Suit]]. It seems fun to goldfish, but I'm second guessing whether or not a lock deck like this would be worth building in paper if it's going to be met with constant gripe.

Here's the deck, for those interested: https://archidekt.com/decks/22451378/scheming_up_a_lock?sort=cmc&stack=types

I'm curious what the community's experiences have been like with lock decks and any stories you might have to share. Thank you!

I just need help double checking a new combo please

I have [[Zur, Eternal Schemer]] and [[Assault Suit]] out on the battlefield. I then cast [[Lunar Force]]. I turn Lunar Force into an enchantment creature and equip it with Assault Suit. This is the potential lock I'm looking to create, but I'm concerned about whether or not Lunar Force will still counter my opponents' spells if I'm unable to sacrifice it. What do you think? Does the replacement effect just have me ignore that part of Lunar Force?

  2. Cast Hesitation

  3. Use Zur's activated ability to turn Hesitation into a creature.

  4. Equip Assault Suit onto Hesitation.

I have an EDH deck built around [[Throne of the Grim Captain]] using [[Indominus Rex, Alpha]] as the commander. This custom card is exactly what I would have loved to see from that set to make the most use of such a weird card like Throne of the Grim Captain.
