From afar, I could hear my housemate talking about how time freezes whenever he snaps his fingers.

American Psycho, released in 2000, is a horror movie based on a book of the same name. It follows a businessman named Patrick Bateman (played by Christian Bale) who leads a double life as a serial killer.

During production, director Mary Herron used a method of filmmaking where she’d film 3 takes of the same interrogation. One where detective Kimball (played by Willem Dafoe) was oblivious Bateman was the killer, one where he suspicious Bateman was the killer, and one where he knew Bateman was the killer.

Herron did this to keep the audience suspenseful on how much the detective Kimball knew about the murder. Some people theorise it may have also been to show how Bateman, a psychopath, is disconnected from normal human behaviour and isn’t sure of how much Kimball knows.

Despite this, the 3 unedited takes have yet to surface online. Although fragments are available (these being the cuts used in the scene), the entire oblivious/suspicious/aware reels haven’t been found.

Not sure if it’s anyone or if it’s A/B testing. Either way I’m not gonna be using it until to reverts back. I’m not paying plus to send large pastes.
