Is product design still a good career?

Product design/industrial really interests me and I’ve been thinking of getting a product design Bsc or industrial design ba. it’s like the right balance for me. But I’ve seen people on here saying to not get into it but ngl I’m not sure what other career path. I’m not interested in full hard core engineering

What are your thoughts on harleen? + my review

I post a few days my first comic haul (gothem siren, supergirl wot and harleen) but I didn’t finish harleen then, but now I have i seriously need to talk about it

Just finished harleen and god that was amazing. It was deep and also provided a deeper insight on not just Harley but on Gotham as well (which is nice for a reader like that just started getting into dc comics). I’ll probably reread it again.

The art was truly amazing and added to the story so much with the thrills and clearly showing Harley emotions.

it also felt like I was really inside harley’s mind and it makes it more tragic when we see Batman at the end and they stated that joker was just rewording Harley‘s word And with no surprise using her. But also like Alfred take that the kiss seems genuine on both side but we’ll never truly know.

I also loved how Batman felt guilty but was really nailed it was the end, where her harleen form is banging on the glass as if trying to break free, she also states “it’s just…there’s a small, lucid part of me that wants to wake up. The dream has lasted quite a while. A long time in the dark.“ I feel like that was meant to set up Harley emotional journey to maybe even becoming an anti hero or maybe separated from joker. Which is sad that we never got to see the two other books planned.

I also peeped the little harlivy moments, even in a none romantic way. It clearly shows that ivy took a deep appreciation to Harley, from recording instead of paper and the room with sunlight. I also read the Gotham siren by Paul dini before this, so harleen is my second comic. It’s funny because with how Harley became so obsessed with joker, she actually had a bigger impact on ivy (which led ivy to save Harley).

Just a small green yuri appreciation post

Ik people call it overrated but I feel like the school arc was actually a solid romance arc. I also feel like it deserves it hype, it’s a great story for new yuri readers and now with the anime, it might show an even greater demand for more yuri adaptations.

on a more personal note, I stumbled upon green yuri probably ages ago but i avoided it heavily due to my internalises homophobia. Yet it felt like I couldn’t complete escape it and one day I caved in and thought just one chapter . But because the chapters were so short I ended up bingeing the whole thing. That simple read made me open to more yuri works and listening to music (for strict religious reasons music wasn’t allowed). I also finally came to term with the fact I liked girls.

So when I watched the teaser I couldn’t but cry a bit

What are some dc comics them being queer actually adds to the plot?

Mainly looking for bi/lesbian women characters where them being queer isn’t just a background info? And has actual build up to maybe a romance?

Just got my first three comics! What should I read next? (And here my review )

I’m really happy I managed to get these discounted (20% off at hmv - not a lot but a discount is a discount!)

I‘ve been wanting harleen for ages and it’s also at the top in terms of ranking. I’m not even finished reading but I’m so hooked in. I’m fully absorb into Harley mind, the art is breathtaking and adds to the thrills (something I miss after reading manwhas for awhile).

then we have the Gotham sirens series, this was my first comic after posion ivy vol 1. I really like all the characters and their dynamic. Not complete beginner friendly but i didn’t need a crazy amount of background knowledge so it wasn’t a big deal. 8/10

Last we have supergirl. I was kinda disappointed, towards the end, i wasn’t sure how to rate it. I didn’t actually dislike the narration which people complained about but the compact comic speech bubbles are a bit small to read. I feel like something was missing, it scratched the surface level and there were deep moments. but as a story it was meh. It definitely could’ve been way shorter. From way I see, people recommend it a lot as a first comic for super girl but it didn’t exactly feel like I was reading a supergirl comic, maybe i needed a bit more dialogue from supergirl. I really thought i was going to love it because of all the reviews. 6/10

After today do you think the boys will be divided more

Obviously it's gonna be villa girls Vs the casa girls but what about the boys? I know KC and Corbin will stick together more and then we have Zach and Bryce and then sincere in the middle. But do you think we'll see a clear division or any beef? I feel like KC and Corbin might chat more shit about the girls and maybe another guy might report back

How the hell do you guys always try paint a bad image of the girls!?

The guys choose to pie... it's the girls' fault!

The guys pick who to dump...it's the girls' fault!

The guys do something iffy on camera, but no it's production...but when the girls don't do anything iffy on camera, but no production must be hiding it! (That being said, as soon as a discussion uses "the production might be..." I feel fans just say that to indulge with their narratives. I'm not saying production isn't doing anything but it gets to a point)

The girls aren't best friends with a girl that they just met!?... they're absolutely bullying her, and production is cutting all the punches they gave her! ( This is exaggerated, but god if I never watched the show, I would've thought the girls been bullying her kdrama style with the way you guys describe it)

Like the way some people so painfully twist aniya actions make sick. It's just pure hatred. Like it not hard to understand that she just wanted KC to be completely honest

edit: btw watch sol tiktok live clips, in that she said she and mel had lots of great talks!

I want to see more background conversations

Idk I feel like we really need more background conversations. Like for example people keep saying Aniya trapped KC but we literally see him and sol interacting quite a few times in the background. Someone also pointed out that Aniya and Caleb was having a chat too. It doesnt even need to be a conversation in an exploring way, it could be them just getting to know eachother. It helps to see the villa dynamic more

Sometimes I forget it's only been like a week

I love KC and aniya but the latest episode reminded me that it's just been like a few days and there's a rocky road ahead 🥲 I'm rooting for the two

I'm so confused about sexuality

So I've been questioning my sexuality and now I think I might be a lesbian or bi (I'm a cis women) but the whole non women loving non women definition of lesbian kinda threw me off tbh. I don't think I would date a biological man that's non binary but I would date a woman that's non binary (?) I'm very fem for fem, so then I don't think I would date a trans women, like not in a trans phobic way but I really can't explain right. Like I'm attracted to women but I think I'd prefer someone who's been a female since birth, cause of periods and just growing up as a woman, if that's makes sense? But in terms of questioning my sexuality I've been wondering sex wise what I'm attracted to. I haven't had sex but like I think I wouldn't mind doing it with a man or a woman because I think the main thing I would focus on is the pleasure but the thing is I'm not attracted to men or at least the attraction fade super fast

I hate (most) LGBTQ aspects in a lot of fandom/shows

Btw apologies for anyone that got happy reading the title, this isn't a hate post on a LGBTQ. I just hate the treatment it gets in fandoms and in the media.

I genuinely hold my breath whenever I see a queer character outside a queer show, because I can only see two extreme side playing out. Either they're dubbed as annoying, self insert, token character or they're actually decently written. And if they're on the annoying side then God, you imagine whatever queer about them will get dragged through the mud. Which then leads to the "why do we need queer characters shoved down our throats"

And then we have Yuri and Yaoi, as someone who is bi and reads Yuri I feel like there's a lot of misconceptions on the genre. Yuri is straight up seen as the opposite of Yaoi, which is most known as being "filled with women who likes to fetish hot guys with abnormal proportions in a toxic smutty relationship" . Now i can say that Yuri is not the opposite of Yaoi. Yuri is actually mostly consumed by queer women not men (they'll just hop on porn) and Yuri doesn't equal smut either. Yaoi is tricky topic and I don't consume it so I can't talk too much about it. But I feel in a lot of discussion online within different fandoms have just dubbed Yuri and Yaoi as a fetish which I think is harmful. I also think people overreact when they say someone saying Yuri/Yaoi to something is annoying. Yuri/Yaoi is no different from a genre/tag like enemies to lovers, of course yes it can be overdone.

And hold your horses, I know someone will type: "BUT IT'S ANNOYING WHEN THEY SAY YURI TO IRL PEOPLE", yes I agree it can be annoying. It also feel they're like reducing queerness to a genre that's fictional and kind of want to avoid saying the word lesbian, or if the said people are just friends it can be weird and uncomfortable. Like I posted a pic of me and and my gf, on double date with my gay friends and I got comments asking "who's the top/bottom" which is weird.

Yet if it's towards something fictional I don't see the problems. Of course the characters can be just friends but to be honest sometimes it's a really deep friendship with potential and shippers will just have fun. I think a lot of people don't actually know a lot of people in queer relationship can also start off as just friends. Like using myself as example, I'm a girl and I was in a secret relationship with my ex gf. Now for the longest time a lot of people viewed us as just really friends even when we thought we were being obvious.

But long story short, I just feel like dubbing so many queer things kind of just either viewed queer media as a fetish or like a mysterious genre that's their guilty pleasure and act like queer people don't exist irl or people view anything queer as forced diversity.

What can I do to reduce vomiting with period

My periods are extremely painful, I get back pain, abdominal cramps, I throw up SOO MUCH that it's so painful and I can't eat which sucks because the painkiller my doc gave me can't be taken on an empty stomach, I'm also not sure they even work tbh. Also all my blood tests came back normal 🫠 I'm pretty much ready to give up. I recently turned 17 and been having painful periods for years

I hate that a lot of lesbian media is still seen as a fetish for guys

This irritate me a lot because in general a lot things that women do in general always have to be attached a guy.

Like yes some guys festish lesbians and some media is created to satisfy that fetish. But the generalizing is annoying and super outdated. I think it drives from the fact that stuff like bl/yaoi has a huge audience of straight women so automatically people think the same applies to GL/Yuri but replace woman with male audience.
