I noticed that I get bumps after being in the sun and after a day or two they start to peel like in the pictures. What should I do about this? They seem to be a constant thing and I’m wanting to fix this. Hopefully I’m not allergic to the sun.

I checked my account on Ancestry and I don’t see an update of them receiving the kit unless they just haven’t gotten to scanning it in yet. Has this happened to others here?

Hi all - I am making a second post regarding the discoloration* on my body (some users say it’s not hyperpigmentation). I am 28 years old, Black, and a male. I’ve done peels in the past, specifically VI Peel Precision Plus and one sesh of PCA Pigment Correct. A couple months ago I got the clinical version of Dr. Dennis Gross Universal Peel Pads on my forearms. Yesterday I went and saw a dermatologist and an esthetician. Neither of them saw the difference in tone on my arms, but I’ve noticed it ever since I was younger. The derm prescribed me something for my KP and the esthetician recommended brightening pads with Hydroquinone 6, Kojic Acid, and Arbutin for my forearms. I went and purchased them at the clinic for at home treatment and she said I could use them over the summer and then do a HQ based PCA Skin Peel in the fall . I have uneven skin tone on my arms, with my forearms being darker than my upper arms and legs. My torso is fairly even, and my face tends to look darker or lighter depending on the lighting. I think it’s safe to say my condition is a mixture of dull discoloration and years of sunburn with keratosis pilaris; the kp is evident on my upper arms. Should I consider using these pads from the clinic with 6% HQ? Is it safe for my skin tone?

I think the Sub Saharan category is broad but the other categories are interesting. If I’m not mistaken they’re mainly European categories with some traces of Asian/Native American. So is this saying that racially I am pretty much Black and part white with some indigenous? Or should these results be taken with a grain of salt?

What is the purpose of this site? Is it meant to decipher your continental/racial origins and does one raw file work better than the other when analyzing your data? I get slightly different results with both files.

My dad’s (first two slides) and great uncle’s results. Did you all get your great relatives to test to compare to your parents’ results ? These results seem to correlate with one another. We have deep roots in Mississippi and Alabama.
