What “parasites” do you see in TCGs and how would you reduce its effects ?

Personally i see:
Pokemon, greed for money, scalpers, overprinting, not making creative gameplay, etc

Yugioh: not sure if this counts but too many effects, wordings etc has made the game too complex and intimidating for newcomers

Magic, the invasion of other IPs is making it lose its original identity, the parasite is in full effect

Any other TCGs? How would you avoid this in your own TCG if you are creating one? What other “parasites”?
