Now that the most controversial restaurant/entertainment place is closed permanently, people need to advocate for a grocery store here. I do wonder who would be the right people to talk to about making this happen, aside from contacting the council member of this district, and making a petition, but i hope residents of this district, and oaklanders advocates for this to happen!
I went to costco last week to get some bulk food / snacks to prep for my recovery. I had a definite list of protein shakes, easy to heat meals and shelf stable snacks. I ended up searching on the internet for recommendations and one that kept coming up was “apple sauce”.
Growing up i was somewhat picky and it never appealed to me eating it until I stumbled across these packets in costco. I kept looping back around the aisle, whether to pull the trigger or not and boy, I dont regret the purchase! Now that I am a few days post op, these have been absolutely delicious, and quick to grab when I dont have an appetite for a full meal. I also threw some in the refrigerator, and they are top tier when cold!

Basically I am looking into starting how to learn how to ride a motorcycle and honestly the cost is pretty steep to me ($425) and Ive heard in other states community colleges offer classes for lower cost. Also I am aware this hobby gets more expensive due to gear, registration, and the cost of the bike itself but i wanted to know if any local riders have any insight on different courses for possibly a lower cost. I really dont understand whats going on. My surgery is scheduled is for August 14th and my job is requiring them to sign the fmla certification but obviously Kaiser doesn’t fill out employer fmla certifications. Now that I found this out, I requested my fmla certificate from kaiser directly and keep getting rejected, here is what it says:
You recently submitted a disability request for a future date. Certifications for future dates and/or procedures cannot be completed prior to the first day of disability. You can provide a copy of the Work Activity Status Form (WASF) also known as the Activity Rx (ARx) to your employer as notice of your planned leave. So if I need to wait until my surgery date, how do I make sure I get paid while I am away, I have SDI and its gonna take them 5-7 days to return my certificate???? Like i gotta pay rent and eat
I am in california, a pretty progressive state and very safe for being outwardly lgbt. I have my hysto scheduled in a couple of weeks and of course, the topic of ovaries came up.
Discussing with my surgeon, she had her opinion of removing only one, and assuring me that if I take T for the rest of my life, that left over ovary wouldnt refeminize me. She is definitely worried about future health, specifically bones. She has valid points and I do worry about the targeting of trans people here constantly. Not to say that there won’t always be an access to T considering how many people (mostly men) use it for bodybuilding and the underground means of getting it. Im still in the middle of deciding to move both or one. She also told me I could always remove the other one at a later point. I have always had a consistent access of T fortunately.
Otherwise, has this affected your choice of removing both or keeping one? Do you constantly have it in the back of your mind or are you secure enough to know that you won’t think about it again? Thanks for anyones input or advice

I am in california. My surgeon has to sign this but I am not sure what she would check under this section and I am worried my job will deny it since they might deem it as "not medically necessary". I will be talking to her this week, but regardless has anyone here know what their surgeon would put?

Title. I applied about 8-9 months ago for the painting apprenticeship and got back a test date in livermore. I am curious if anyone here has done any sort of apprenticeship through ABC norcal? Have any experience with the painting program? Is this apprenticeship worth it / the program will get you a job after graduating? Is it feasible to quit a full time job for this apprenticeship? Is this a union program or non union?
Also, if someone has a different sub to recommend regarding advice, please suggest!

- June 1st: Charlene Wang and Michael Wimsatt promptly responded and forwarded my complaint to the City Administration and the Public Works Director
- June 4th: Jason Wong (City Administration) responded regarding the illegal dumping corner and investigating the neighbor with Michael Tecson (Recycling & Environmental Enforcement Division)
I am in Oakland but I find it bizarre that no places like target, walmart, and phone carriers don’t bother to sell cases for older iphones. Makes me annoyed as hell but I am looking for a durable iphone se 2022 (iphone 8 body) case. I refuse to upgrade to an newer iphone until apple decides to stop updating these phones
Just a crazy thing that happened to me today. Was already slowing down this hill and this motorcyclist decided to merge into the lane , looking at last second. I didn’t expect him to actually use the lane but regardless, such a dumbass move of him. Nothing against motorcyclists but already got some shit in r/motorcycle for using the bike lane legally so 💀
Edit: some of yall really are brain dead. escooters are legally allowed and required to use the bike lanes in california. there are painted scooters on some bike lanes here. even though i was clearly slowing down, you still find ways to shit on the person who nearly got crashed into by an actual motorcycle. i doubt most of you actually follow the laws where you live

Edit 3: MOTORCYCLES (THAT HAVE PLATES, REGISTRATION, AND INSURANCE IN CALIFORNIA) Cannot legally lane filter and lane split a bike lane. What this guy did was illegal. He was directly behind me the entire time actively using the bike lane to pass the cars. He was not able to fit between me and the cars unless i completely hugged the curb which i was not gonna do. whether it was a scooter, a pedal bike or an ebike this guy did not look behind him and couldve caused a serious crash, to ME or ANOTHER PERSON. i dont care if your country or state restricts your speed on a scooter or ebike, this is actively about a powerful motorized vehicle using a lane for slower vehicles and that IS NOT MADE FOR MOTORCYCLES
I don't want to pay for the monthly fee and I am looking into options. I only have few devices (iphone se 2022, macbook pro 2020, ps4, nintendo switch, pet camera) and my sibling has one iphone currently. The game consoles don't see much usage as often but I do use my phone and laptop frequently for streaming. The current offering for wifi 7 seems a bit overkill for us and I saw recommendations for the eero pro 6e. Does anyone else here have a similar apartment setup? Or experiences with other routers?
