Anyones newborn get louder and moving more when sleeping around 6 weeks or near that?

Baby has always grunted and shifted and made random noises but in the last few days he has been so much more noisy and moving so aggressively that he almost always wakes himself from sleep, even if swaddled. Its driving us insane because, well, he needs sleep. He is 6 weeks and 1 day old today. He gets maybe 2-3 hours of sleep total between 7am-9pm, its terrible. To be fair tho his daytime sleep has always been wonky, we’re lucky if a nap ends up being 1.5+ hours. He often is awake for hours at a time.

5 week old newborn has this amber spot in his eye, anyone experience this and know if its heterochromia?

Sorry the photo is blurry, its hard to photograph a babies eye in good lighting!!

My husband has dark greenish hazel eyes, i have light greyish green eyes with amber in the center and outlined dark blue. We noticed this spot in our babies eye since birth and wonder if anyone has a child who had this and how it turned out? I know his eyes will change a lot over months/ years but I am wondering id others have experiences with this!

Finally bought a couple Little Sleepies zippies... Wow the quality does suck

Decided to buy two because I had a couple promo codes that stacked, and each zippy ended up being about $14, so for that price I thought why not just buy a couple for my baby. He has worn both one time, and there is already pilling along the neck and pulls in the foldover hand area from his nails (which I cut once a week, so they arent left jagged and long). One of them is SO thin and transparent, I can fully see the pattern of his diaper through it. I also hate how the zipper protrudes into his chin, it doesnt sit nicely along his body, it's as if the zipper was made too long for the garment. I would never, EVER pay full price for these. I even think the $14 I paid for each one is too high, what is with their fan base!?!? I swear people must be brainwashed to want to spend so much money on these.

My mom is so irritating with her old school views. She is staying with us to help as we have a 5 week old new born, but shes just adding more stress

I just want to rant a bit here. My mom is a soft spoken woman who is stuck in the past- she is an eastern european boomer woman who has not advanced beyond the year 1990. I feel bad, she is so stunted and makes no efforts to learn new things and instead just repeats her opinions and thoughts, sometimes 5+ times a day, even after telling her I dont agree or I ask her to just stop because its becoming aggrivating. She shuts down when people get upset with her and gets quiet and mopey but then continues to do the things that upset me, so its a sad irritating circle of trying to get her to listen but shes been like this for so long that she genuinely just cant change.

So far in the 5 days shes been here, she has said:

* why not put him in his own room to sleep for naps and at nighttime because he needs to be alone to be able to sleep properly

* give more breast (she knows we are supplementing with formula because he has a poor latch or sometimes doesnt latch at all, she doesnt seem to get it and just repeats that I dont give enough breast milk. Yeah mom i know)

* keeps telling me to just let baby cry. Shes obsessed with wanting him to cry? We tend to his needs before it gets to the point of crying and she thinks we are spoiling him.

* she has poked at my tummy and said “dont worry it will go down again”, my stomach is back to what it was before I gave birth, which was never even bad… im a US size 8

Beyond all of these comments, she also has followed me around constantly trying to correct everything I do. Tells me shes being helpful while i have to tell her that it isnt helpful, but rather adding stress while I try to care for a newborn. I carry him wrong. Change him wrong. Feed him wrong. Let him sleep too much, too little, etc. i tell her i need space and she agrees, only to then follow me 5 minutes later and acts like we never even had the conversation of me needing space. I feel like i have another baby to care for and I feel so bad but I cant wait until shes gone on Saturday. It was more peaceful before she got here.

Take a look at our biggest tomato from this year! Kelloggs Breakfast weighing 14.5oz

I love how few seeds it has. Its our first year growing them and the plant hasnt produced too many (three ripe so far and a few more growing but not sure they will ripen in time before its cold out, located in 6b Michigan). Anyways, its the largest tomato of the year and shes a beauty!

Learning the ins and outs of newborns is wild and ever changing.. These last few days we realized baby wants a LOT more food!!!

With each 2-3 days that pass, we think we got something figured out, only for it to change. I knew that would happen but it happens so much faster than expected lol. Right now baby has a tongue tie that we need to get fixed, so that hopefully he will be a more efficient breastfeeder. I also am waiting for more supply to come in. He DID gain 6 oz after losing 9 oz in his first week, but we werent back to birth weight by 2 weeks which was concerning, in fact he showed a loss of 1 oz for a couple days. Anyways, we decided to supplement with some formula along with the breastfeeding we were attempting to do.

This boy... Wow. The last couple days he has had an additional 8-12 ounces of formula per day on top of whatever he manages to get from breast feeding (which I would guess is 1-1.5 ounces per feed), then today he has seemed insatiable and has had an extra 8 ounces but will definitely be up to probably 15-18 extra ounces by midnight. He does turn 3 weeks old tomorrow so I suppose it is growth spurt time. My husband and I have been shocked that hes downing so much, and no spit up or anything. Of course I felt so guilty and bawled my eyes out once I realized he was hungry and needed more food than he was getting from my breasts but I'm glad we got it sorted out now.

Anyways, it's wild how fast everything changes. I hope the tongue tie fix will help him be more efficient on the breast, I'd like him to get most/all of his ounces from me, however we will do what we need for the time being!

2 week old has been fussy every evening between 8pm-12am for the last week! Is this pretty normal?

Baby is 15 days old today. For the last week he has been so fussy in the evenings! Constantly wants to be on the boob but will fight it at the same time so half the time cant even latch, will not settle down, cries a lot (but on and off, not for a long time really), and takes forever to be put down to sleep so he's usually awake the entire 4 hour stretch or maybe gets 30 mins in if we are lucky. Once midnight passes, he usually will go down without a huge fuss (probably jinxing it now). Has anyone else dealt with this? I feel its too early for this sort of fussiness but I know he is a baby and babies are gonna just do baby things lol.

My goodness, why is this so hard?!

I am two weeks postpartum today, and breastfeeding has been rough. One nipple got so injured that it scabbed over and is still trying to heal and looks like a chunk was taken out of it… the other nipple is raw now too and so sensitive. Baby has issues latching, wont latch at all if they have any degree of fussiness, and if they do latch then unlatch, getting them back on is a huge hassle and they put their hands in the way and fight my nipples. Sometimes we will go 3 hours between feedings buy yesterday and today I swear its more like one hour between feedings. I feel so touched out and have cried multiple times.

I saw a lactation specialist yesterday and she weighed him, he has almost gained back his birth weight, he has about 1.9 oz to go (he has gained about 7.5oz in the last 9 days), he has a slight tongue tie which we are going to get fixed and hopefully that will help with latch.

Has anyone else gone through similar? I plan to pump once, MAYBE twice a day, just to have a small stash for husband to feed a bottle if i need some extra sleep or want to go out to do something for a few hours. But I dont want to pump more than that since its so time consuming on top of breastfeeding too!

How does this look on my husband? He says its so tight against him that he cant breathe but he cant loosen it any more without baby looking like hes in a bad spot

How do I know if baby is getting too much from a bottle? And breast? Struggling with feeding week old newborn.

I am trying to breastfeed. Baby has been frustrated at the breast most of the day, so we decided to give some pumped milk and he took 2 ounces in addition to whatever he got from my breasts. I was shocked, but now he still seems frustrated and like he could take even more?? Is it possible that bottle feeding breast milk could be giving him too much? I know you cant overfeed when breastfeeding but what about from the bottle? Im debating giving another ounce because he drank the previous 2 ounces pretty fast. He wont settle, he wont go down easily for a nap, and also he has been angry at my breast all day and it was a chore to get him to even latch. Im overwhelmed and struggling a bit.

Wow this is a reality check- i knew it would be hard but damn. Slept maybe 12 hours in the past 5 days.

Gave birth Monday night, currently experiencing my first night at home with baby. He slept fine earlier but now at night hes barely slept, seems irritated, now wont latch and is getting pissed even tho he was a boob barnacle the last 24 hours. Hes asleep in my lap now, i want to transfer him to the bassinet but each time Ive tried, he gets fussy after about 5-10 mins. I havent slept at all so far and its 130am, also barely slept at the hospital too. I am severely sleep deprived and have been for months since I didnt sleep well pregnant but now Im just miserable. I dont know what to do.

Just wanted to rant. Ill try to transfer him soon, this time trying to wait til hes in the deeper sleep stage but by that point itll probably be time to attempt to feed again. Sigh.

Id like to show off my tomatoes so far! Im quite proud of them.

Photo 1- Black Krim

Photo 2- Kelloggs Breakfast (these took forever to come in and are still very small but I think theyll get FAT!)

Photo 3- Peron

Photo 4- Cherokee Purple

Photo 5- Korean Long

These are just sneak peeks of each, there are more tomatoes on each plant but these are the ones I could photograph best! I am in zone 6b in Michigan, and they are all about 4-4.5 feet tall now and are doing WAY better than my plants did last year. The Peron I grew last year had 3-4 tomatoes on it to start while this one has 12, the Korean Long last year didnt even make it to be planted, so four of the plants are new to me and Im excited to try them!

Just got this!!! Yay!

Its the Nest brand, and about a year ago my husband and I were looking into getting outdoor cameras but then forgot about it, so this was a nice surprise. I also got some vanilla bean paste earlier too. My dashboard has been empty for a bit after having a bunch of stuff a couple months ago!

Can anyone share heat wave tips for this week? Many of us in the US will be getting above average heat and humidity, what should we do for our tomatoes?

Looks like from Monday-Friday, temps will be 90-95 degrees but feel like over 100 where I live, and this is affecting half the country. Anything special we should do for our plants? I already know to water them more often, or at least more at once than usual, anything else?

Highly recommend visiting or calling your local Nordstrom this week- mine had Canada Goose on sale w/ additional 25% off

Online, none of their items are on sale, but in store my local Nordstrom had several styles on sale for about 25-35% off plus an additional 25% off on top of that. I didnt plan to buy anything today but all the styles I was eyeing down last year were on sale. I likely will return one though, couldnt make up my mind so I got these three:

I got a Chilliwack puffer for $670, Alberni reversible fleece bomber for I think $500 and a Sierra full zip for $370.

For those who dont trim their tomatoes at all, do you still get large fruit? Or a lot of fruit?

I am growing 5 tomato plants right now - Cherokee Purple, Black Krim, Kelloggs Breakfast, Peron and Korean Long. Needless to say, they are all looking FABULOUS (except for Korean Long which looks questionable but it's slowly perking up).

My Black Krim is very, very leafy, large and robust. It's taking up a ton of space. In fact all the plants are extremely tall and beautiful, last year they didn't get like this until mid-July so now I'm worried about caring for them properly (I think I gotta figure out adding an additional trellis, also giving birth in about 2 weeks so its going to be busy). Im in Michigan in zone 6b for reference.

Anyway, should I give some of the larger ones a haircut? I was planning to just let them be free and do what they want but the Black Krim especially is like a forest of it's own. I feel bad trimming healthy deep green leaves, but I will if it makes sense to do so. I see 2-3 baby tomatoes on the Black Krim, 5-6 on the Cherokee Purple, 2-3 on the Peron, and so far I dont see any on my Kelloggs Breakfast or Korean Long even though they have flowers.

Searching for medium to heavy weight 100% cotton sweatshirt sets with short sleeve top and shorts (open to other bottoms too)

I found a sweatshirt set that I like by the brand Daily Drills, its a raw cut off sleeve sweatshirt top with matching shorts, but.... It's expensive and if I'm going to spend $200 on a set like that I'd rather it be from a more sustainable brand and not one created by influencers who then sold out to some global conglomerate.

I do not want to pay more than $200 per set, Id like 100% cotton, thank you!!
