youtube.comYouTube accidentally made me €3k, am I an indépendant now?
I live in Brussels and I’ve been doing YouTube as a fun side thing. Until now it made basically €0. Then in April one video spike happened and I made around €3600 in Google AdSense revenue. Google should pay it out at the end of May.
I don’t have another job at the moment, and I’m not registered as indépendant.
I really don’t expect this to continue. Going forward, I’d guess maybe around €100/month, if that. So I’m trying to figure out what the correct Belgian way to handle this is.
Can this kind of one-off YouTube/AdSense income be declared as “revenus divers”, or does the fact that I have no other job and the channel is monetised mean I should register as indépendant à titre principal?
I’ll probably contact a guichet/accountant too, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has dealt with something similar. I moved to Brussels last year, so plz be nice! Hoping I can sink the profits into an S&P500 ETF!
Thanks!!

How do I land the IMCO internship this time?
Last time I applied to IMCO, I got a short phone call interview. They seem to like my CV and motivation letter (even though there were a few typos), finding it interesting and slightly out of the ordinary. I think this is because the main relevant thing i did was maintaining the Digital Fairness Act Newsletter.
In the call they asked me a few questions like whether I would still be happy if I had to work on non-tech policy files. I said yes. They also asked if I would be ready to, on exception, work very long days, like during trilogues that can go on until very very late. I responded with great enthusiasm, saying I was looking for an exciting and challenging internship so I would be more than happy to work long hours…
Unfortunately, I didn’t get called back.
My background: Master’s at LSE. Running the Digital Fairness Act Newsletter. Wrote and self published a lot of EU tech policy stuff… Mother tongue: French + English.
How do you think I could up my chances this time around?
