I guess this is not a what if question but rather about history and legal precedence. Has anyone in court that you have heard about tried to argue against paying child support on their claim that if its a woman's choice only to have a baby then as the father they didnt choose to be in that situation

I tried asking Google or looking for other posts but I keep getting other cases where this may have been used as a side argument or perhaps implied.

What im asking is if theres anyone out there in the past that has actually tried to make this main anchor point for their defense

Rewatching old episodes about the roman empire. Tom sort of implies that it is possible that Nero may have or not started the fire, I think its just not possible at all.

Its not just Tom Holland who supports this idea but other historians have pointed this out and the conversation remains divided. Personally, the argument that Nero would have started the fire intentionally so that he could grab more of the city area for himself is just ridiculous. After the fire Nero had to not only empty the coffers completely in the process of building his new palace but also Rome, he also had to raise massive taxes on the whole empire for it which incidentally caused the provincial rebellions and eventual rebellions by Galba. Even the praetorian guard abandoned him when they realized he had no money left.

So if his intention had been as vane as that it would have been quite a lot more cheaper to simply purchase the land from the people he wanted to and build a luxurious palace. His predecessors had already in fact enlarged and built grander sections in the palatine hill with merely portions of the treasury. The fire Rome indeed caused Nero downfall because Nero had an impulsive and stubborn personality to not listen to advice and rather than rebuild Rome slowly with the amount of money he had, he decided to raise taxes which caused the rebellion and financial crisis.

When you want to buy 12 they want to charge you $15 so 1.25 each instead of letting you bundle 2 groups of 6 for 12 dollars total.

To demonstrate how ridiculous this is we had to end up buying 6 for $6 then doing a second purchase again for 6 for $6 dollars because the cashier doesnt understand math

Where can I either watch or purchase on DVD the famous 2003 production of Richard II by Mark Rylance??

Ive heard so much about this production throughout the years and seen several clips on YouTube but there doesnt seem to be any place at all where I can purchase the DVD or stream it. I see people in this subreddit that claim to have watched it before so where did you watch it?

Is anyone working on a three decker ship mod to replace the Jackdaw? Im tired of the pretense that a 1 and a half decker can go against a 100+ cannon ship no matter how experienced or upgraded the Jackdaw is

Everytime I replay AC Black flag I install a 3 decker 100+ cannon ship instead of the Jackdaw because its extremely unrealistic if you know about ships of the age of sail. The only issue is that AC Black flag original mods dont work on the resynched version so Im stuck using the Jackdaw

Almost done with body of the ship. I need help on defining ROPE diameter, color code, type of rope. What should I choose to make good contrast and quality.

So this post is solely about ropes. Let me give you a short background, Ive made two other ships, the Heller Victory and the Soleil Royal. In both occasions I've used just standard waxxed cotton white ropes for the ships, mainly 0.2 and 0.6milimiters for the ratlines. The issue is Ive seen plenty of other people making strikingly beautiful contrasts on ropes like black and white, or making the ratlines one color and stay cables but then rigging ropes another and so on.

I want to be ambitious about this ship and do something of higher quality. So here are my questions?

What manufacturer makes good quality ropes that are as little as 0.2mm to 0.8mm good for this?

What type of color code works best?? Should ratliens be darker? What about the stay cables that hold masts? What about the rigging? Should the ropes that hold the eyelets and blocks be one color, but the rope for rigging be another?

What type of diameter is best for anchors, ratlines, rigging (my ships is 1:75)

Im also sending private messages to other ship makers I see on Instagram and YouTube but Ive not gotten a lot of answers.

Ive seen some amazing works here in this subreddit so id rather ask here. This will take some time to research properly before I buy anything so please be patient in answering my questions if you want to help

What happens in the state of New Jersey(USA in general) if a person who does citizens arrest on another under apparent probable cause but later its proven the arrested was actually innocent. Would they have legal immunity if they can prove probable cause?

I tried asking this hypothetical question on Google and also AI but they keep giving me contradicting answers.

Would the person that arrests the probable culprit face charges for arresting the other person? And if so would they need to prove probable cause, meaning the reason why they tried to arrest the person?

Would the arrested person have the option to file a civil lawsuit? Would the law be the one filing a criminal case? How would that work?

NJ, What would be the legality of claiming wrongful termination if a retail/food industry employee went to their job in their day off, paid for an item as a costumer then proceeded to cuss and tell off on their boss who is the worst and come to work next day like nothing happened?

If the employer fired you in the spot after they said all they had to say. Could an employee hypothetically claim that they were wrongfully terminated for something that didnt happen on work hours, nor is it related to their job at the moment nor did it happen to an employee since they were a costumer at the time?

And before you guys answer im well aware of Agent Ratliff and Occupational Care Diversity Affairs company where they come to your work and do this😂 this just a hypothetical

Is 0.5 expected to come in early October? Or are they taking 1 year like 0.4

It would be nice if they gave the player base some heads up news more often. The 0.4 update news were terrible like they literally went way past the 6 month gap into 7 months and a half before they finally admitted that it would take them 1 year.

Before the comments begin, im not saying that they have to release every 6 months. What im saying is, share more information and timelines with the playerbase instead of keeping people in the dark like they unquestionably did in 0.4

The game needs to either reduce the amount of people per server or reduce the loot spawn time. Theres no incentive to go looting with the low prob of finding anything.

The worst part is that you be waiting it out for the loot to respawn and then someone else shows up to also loot. Theres simply too many people crammed into one server. Either that or reduce the spawn time for loot

My issue with this statement and why I disagree.

Is that I find it that lgbtq+ people should not have to adhere to religion or a religion for that matter both with so many members against them or with so many passages that are unequivocally anti lgbtq. I support the lgbtq community, have for many years and have friends who are but I genuinely dont understand why out of all religions why are there lgbtq people adhering to conventional mainstream Christian churches that are creating separate congregations that are pro lgbt vs other ones that are anti lgbt. Why the need??

If its a spiritual need then why not break up with Christianity altogether and create your own religion that fits your spiritual needs?

And its not like Christianity is alone in this, all 3 Abrahamic religions are filled to the brim with anti lgbt rethoric in their doctrine and in their "word of god" holy books. Why try to adhere to that? I dont get it

Which one of the three semiautomatic high caliber rifles is best for every situation use (no snipping)

Supposing that you have whichever red dot/scope and whichever grip, butstock, modification that you prefer and the weapon is optimized to use it as your regular weapon, which one is the best? ( not for snipping use, read the post or I will call you out on it)

How do I colonize only one port settlements along the African coast to get to Asia? The game should not force you to have to conquer the whole province

I feel like this game hates the Dutch and Portuguese because it forces you to conquer a lot of land in order for trade to be possible. Thats not historically what the Dutch and Portuguese did, they only would settle small forts and towns along the African coast and the trade hop to Asia. But the game is forcing you to have to colonize a whole province, not just this but its completely at random. It doesnt make any sense that the settlers are first building a settlement deep in the Kongo river first and completely ignoring the coast, thats not how that works. Why isnt this being fixed?
