Hell yeah. This counts, right?

My toes were poking out the side. I’ve had these vans for about a year & a half but I wear them during my nightshift stocking job & they have seen their fair share of squatting.

The canvas was pulling away from the soles & insoles. I was trying to figure out what’s an easy way to patch this & I had a eureka moment of duct tape 😂

Took like 10 mins tops, so if it doesn’t last long; at least I can do it until the duct tape runs out 🥳

Mama to be!

I found this lady in my bathroom, egg sack in tow! She is both dragging it along & using her back legs to keep it close.

Time to relocate this gang.

How are we managing stuff like this? What does “7pm/nighttime” mean to you?

https://apple.news/A0zGqcF9VQ6Ka4ydJ5XQP0A

There’s a link to the actual article. But let’s talk about our routines & what “7pm (or any other time)/“nighttime”) means to us.

Is this the period as we are winding down to go to sleep? Do the same timeframes still hit us even though we’re on a different schedule?

So grateful to have an oven again!

After many months of staying in different temporary places with only kitchenettes, I finally moved & have an oven again.

I saw these frozen chicken burgers on sale awhile ago, decided to bake them on the pan then once they were cooked I tore them up into pieces & added a mixture of frozen & prepared things:
Frozen:
Peppers & onions blend
Pearl onions
Green peas
Corn
Kale

I cooked:
Yellow rice
Chickpeas (then froze them)
A mixture of:black beans, black eyed peas, & Anasazi beans (I cook them all together, they get dyed a dark blue/grey together)
Red & green lentils

Sprinkled on hemp seeds.

Bingo?

I keep going by the bingo on Academy & Pikes Peak/Airport. I’ve never been to bingo but I’m curious about it.

Has anyone ever been to this one? What’s it like?

How’s everyone’s night going?

I won’t be stocking overnight for long, I recently was told I’m getting switched to days.

How’s your night going? DM’s are open if anyone wants to chit chat 🌞

Table for zero.

Walked by this plate when I went to the grocery store. Still there when I walked back. Lots of restaurants around in this shopping center, I wonder which one it came from 😂

Oh Hi.

This is the first time I’ve had a form of an oven since May. I’ve had my eye on these Trader Joe’s onion flowers… 😛

Why yes, I did top my onion flower with onion sprinkles. 🥰🧅

Thanks for the spoilers, google 🤦🏻‍♀️

You can see the “AI Overview” at the very end at the top of the screenshot when opened, & it couldn’t tell me when season 2 aired 😅

I literally only googled it because I’m watching season 2 episode 6 & they mention she can’t smoke inside due to law & getting a fine.

I’m in my 30’s & watching the show for the first time. My impression of that scene was that “mainstream” stuff was trying to instill realtime laws & was trying to remember when smoking inside was banned (I was a small child & still remember smoking inside). Just kind of lame to have so much spoiled just because I wanted to know when a season aired.

Anyways, loving the show so far. I was an elementary school aged child when my parents had this on TV a lot in the evenings. When I first played it around a couple weeks ago, the theme song struck some strange core memory with me.

Don’t even begin to tell me I’m not “eating right”

I have been almost exclusively shopping for veggies in the frozen section & have had practically zero waste across the board with this approach. The only non frozen things in this photo are:
Black beans & chickpeas: canned
Red bell pepper & jalapeño: fresh

(Not pictured but will 100% be included): fresh tomatoes.

This is a meal.

If you want to/need to add extra and/or animal based protein, that mixes in seamlessly.

I spent less than $7 on this “meal” that will actually end up being 4 ish+ meals for me.

What in the Willy Wonka….

A friend of mine was like “hey want to try one?” I don’t normally go for the limited edition flavors of any brand of chip (usually Lay’s is the front runner there) but I decided to try one of these.

Crazy.

What has pattern testing become?

So many requirements & the biggest thing I’m struggling to understand is the necessity for a group chat. What is the purpose of everyone talking together?

Also, if someone points out the error in the group chat then there it is, you now won’t have other people noticing it for themselves & if there’s one or two people who have more time to be on the group chat; they’re the ones dominating it…. you have to read everything to see if you missed it or not, & then at that point how are others supposed to also “find the error”? Like isn’t the point of pattern testing so that you can get results of different people making it? See where everyone had the same mistakes or notes? When you sell the actual pattern it’s going to be the individual reading it & not in a group setting.

I recently was selected to pattern test (I haven’t in several years until recently) but I found myself spending so much wasted time on reviewing the group chat instead of actually proofreading/working the *PATTERN*, it’s the first time I’ve ever had to do a pattern test where the group chat was SUCH a focus of the entire thing. Is this just the way it is now? & there were like 10 of us in there. I’m just so confused & frustrated as to how the group chat is necessary & how a person can be scrutinized for NOT using it because they were busy actually working/reading the pattern.

It’s frustrating & discouraging that the social media aspect has such high importance on something like pattern testing. I get it, the designers want their stuff to be promoted, but to me I can promote without being in the group chat & following everybody else who was chosen for the group chat. Am I just “old” now?

What if I told you the laziest/cheapest I’ve ever cooked is also the healthiest I’ve ever eaten?

Right now I am buying vegetables in the frozen section & pairing them with dry rice & beans. This particular photo features a steamable “Southwestern” recipe that includes rice & a sauce (the sauce is the main red “thing” in the photo)

Also featured as individual frozen bags:
-peppers & onions blend
-onions by themselves (r/onionlovers 🥰)
-zucchini
-edamame
-corn
(The “southwestern blend” is a Bird’s Eye Brand steamable pack with rice, peppers, black beans, & a red “zesty southwest style sauce” according to the package.

I will be adding ground meat to this meal (Trader Joe’s had ground turkey for $4.99 today) & this skillet will be 2 meals for me.

Single moms!

Are there any other single moms who would be interested in rooming together to create a 2 parent household? Please message me, I believe this is a good way for us to band together to have the support our children need while creating stability for the adults.

I work nights & believe that parents who are not related can work together given the current state of our economy.

If you are a MOM, please reach out to see what is doable. I am dealing with a horrific divorce where I was severely financially abused (loans taken out in my name, forced to not work for almost a decade, I’ve had a stable job for 2 years now, but still dealing with the divorce drama)

I also encourage single dads to do this as well, but obviously I am looking for another mom like myself at this time.
