hi friends! i want to slowly move around SEA, having never been before...is it possible to do three months in thailand, three months in vietnam, a month or two in cambodia, singapore, etc? if so, are there better months than others for each spot? or, is the entire region hot and humid year round?
bonus: i see facebook groups mentioned often for finding short term rentals (and other support from expats). i haven't had FB for years. am i cooked?
thank you so much!

funny story: i was a tourist in copenhagen when this march passed my hotel. i grabbed a camera, ran downstairs, and eventually made my way to the front. when i turned around to shoot, one of the massive dudes in the front started yelling at me. i said 'i don't speak danish'. he yelled "WHO ARE YOU? WHY ARE YOU TAKING PICTURES?". i said i was a tourist and a photographer. he yelled again "WHY ARE YOU TAKING PICTURES?" i was smiling trying to explain when i suddenly felt a giant arm around my neck and shoulder. and i was being pushed toward the sidewalk. for a second, i thought i was about to get stomped. but that dude calmly said "stop arguing", and left to rejoin the club.
i am in a bit of a bind. i need to be in england late july (from n. america) and stay in europe until a wedding early september. i usually avoid europe in july and august, because of heat and crowds. i'm wondering: are riga and vilnius good in august? is there anywhere else i should consider? i prefer cities where i can get around on foot or by train. and i've already been to copenhagen, stockholm, oslo, tallinn, helsinki, and all over poland...thank you so much! 🖤
i think it looked best around 3 or 4 weeks with shorter stubble around it. but my girlfriend likes a "slutty" moustache. i worry i will look like john bolton.
do i need clippers with a guard to thin it evenly? is there a small, effective, travel size option? thank you so much for your advice!
from the remarkable story of vivian maier to the millions whose work dies when they do. what do you think will happen to your pictures? is this a grim question?
i planned my first trip to japan at the beginning of 2020. i arrived in january of 2023 after a pandemic delay. i didn't know if i would ever return. so i maximized my time there. i mostly planned my itinerary around art museums and architectural sites (huge tadao ando fan). i saw far more than i am able to share in a single post on reddit. and my written words can not express how deeply i fell in love with this place. japan is a dream. this was the closest i have seen to a utopian society. i am not a historian nor anthropologist. but they seem to have built a civilization on respect for others. it's the opposite of where i'm from 😅. i miss the cleanliness, the calm and the order. tokyo is massive. and i never felt crowded except for the one time i foolishly used the subway during rush hour....do not recommend. otherwise, japan exceeded every expectation, and ruined me for every place since. i went again, last year, and can not wait to go back.
this subreddit, along with r/japantravel, were a huge help in planning and understanding how to navigate. google translate and google maps are also crucial.
one word of advice: if you're planning to visit naoshima, book that first. i had to redo my initial itinerary after i learned that naoshima was booked the week i originally intended to go.
also: shibuya sky was my favorite between shibuya sky, skytree and tokyo tower. artizon was my favorite museum in tokyo. and you must visit teamlabs.
happy to answer any questions. arigatou gozaimasu!
i usually prefer to have consistency throughout a shoot. but i don't have any experience with cinestill. are these very similar or very different?
thanks friends!
