music that promotes self belief and confidence?

I really enjoy Oasis and Charli XCX BRAT album. Any genre is welcome but I enjoy listening to rock music.

I’m done with Reddit lmfao

I saw a comment saying Angelina Jolie is nuts so I replied back that she has BPD and then someone else commented “Just because she has BPD doesnt mean she’s an asshole. BPD doesnt excuse that”. Like girl when I did mention that 😭, I just say she has BPD.

What was it like working at a video store?

I am only 22 years old being born in 2004. I don't have memories of going into a video store but my family did rent out movies at our local library. But I am old enough to remember FYE having DVDs and music. If I was born 20 years earlier like 1984, I would love to work at a video store. My oldest brother was born in 1988 and told me how he biked at Blockbusters. I would love to have that experience.

Edit: I added more information.

How to get rid of resentment towards my parents?

I (22F) feel like this above Reddit's paygrade but I have total resentment towards my parents (71M,61F). I am trying to focus on my own life while still living with my parents, I am currently looking for a job and hopefully move out in the future. My parents were overprotective of me growing up. I remember in my senior year of high school, I had to do a final group project that requires doing the work outside. My friend was getting the equipment for the project with her mom and then my dad was flipping out about how late she is. Then he wanted me to do the work by myself and then he gave in after I told him that working with someone is a requirement. He was complaining about how this project should've been done in school and how he doesn't know my friend's parents. When he dropped me off, he said to me "Don't be too excited that you're in someone's home" He doesn't remember doing this by the way. This is one of the countless memories I have about them being overprotective on me.

Now that I'm an adult and I'm allow to do adult things like going outside. And my parents likes how that I'm focusing on my future. But I just see red whenever I'm around my parents and they are alright people. I just feel like I didn't get closure or an apology from them. I tried to bring it out a couple of times but they don't remember how they treated me during my childhood. What can I do? Is the obvious answer is just me moving out?

First-time watcher's opinion on season 1 -3

Hi ! I just started watching True Blood for the first time ! When it first aired, I was 4 years old ! Now I'm 22 years old ! I really like horror and the trope where creepy things are happening in a small town. My millennial brother was a huge fan when this show aired and now I'm watching it with him for our summer binge.

Season 1

  • I really like this season lol. My favorite characters right now are Sam, Lafayette, and Jason.
  • This season was pretty fun with Rene as the serial killer.
  • I'm thinking of rewatching the season to see if there were clues about Rene hinting of being the killer.
  • I don't like Bill because I don't like brooding personalities.
  • I love how Jason's storyline is him having sex and being on V. While Sookie is not trying to get murder.
  • This season I was rooting for Sam and Sookie to be together.

Season 2

  • This is my favorite season by far.
  • I really like Maryann as the big bad of the season.
  • I feel like this is the season where side characters are starting to shine more.
  • I really like Terry and Hoyt. Very wholesome characters.
  • I really like Eric's banter with everyone.
  • I enjoyed the introduction of Jessica.
  • I love the scene where Bill is shopping Jessica for clothes
  • I find Sam's backstory to be interesting.
  • I love Jason's storyline with the Church, it's literally day and night with Sookie's storyline.
  • This is where I find Sookie to be annoying.
  • I really love the scene where Jason pretended to be Dionysus and "smited" Sam.
  • ALSO JASON KILLED EGGS!
  • Also how did Sam imprinted on that bull? Did he snuck off to a local zoo or a ranch?
  • Sam needs to stop having sex with his employee !
  • Also was Eric was in a relationship with Godric?
  • This is a very enjoyable season !

Season 3

  • I really hate how Tara dealt with her mom, Eggs' death, and now being tortured by Franklin
  • I did note that Franklin gave her eye rolling orgasm at their one night stand LMAO
  • I feel like this season dipped down for me, like I was watching this on autopilot
  • I don't completely understand this season? With the introduction of the Queen and King whatever !
  • I feel like this season wasn't funny for me like the last
  • Sam's brother is annoying
  • Also Sam's villain arc is coming !
  • Bill and Sookie are boring, literally Sam's storyline was interesting for me
  • Jason should stay away from that meth head Crystal, with her inbred werepanther powers.
  • The werewolves were boring too!
  • Joe Manganiello's character is hot and should be with Sookie. Also with Eric as well.
  • I am protective of Terry and Hoyt LMAO. Like Arlene should leave Terry alone.
  • I really enjoy Terry and Hoyt's storyline because it reminds me of something from Buffy. Where the character is chilling with the supernatural elements around them. And there's nothing serious that's going on.
  • I am so happy that Bill lied to Sookie because I don't like them as a couple.
  • I like it how Bill is seen as abusive towards Sookie when he drained her. I just don't like this man.
  • My favorite scene where Eric called Lafayette Rupaul LMAO.
  • Also Sam's gay dream with Bill.
  • This season showed me varieties of white trash. (Coming from a yankee)
  • I love Jessica's relationship with Hoyt.

Crazy things are happening in a small town.

I love the trope where crazy things are happening in a small town. I’ve watched Buffy, Angel, Gravity Falls, and Widows Bay. I’m currently watching True Blood right now.

I’m afraid to show myself to people.

Hi I am a 22 year old woman and I’m afraid to show people my true personality. Only friends and family know who I am. I am very funny and have theatre kid energy as someone would call it. I am the quiet girl but when you get to know me - I can get pretty energetic. I feel like me shutting myself down started in middle school when these boys called me annoying. So I kinda shut myself down throughout high school. I just graduated from college and I really help myself with my mental health. I really became more open towards other people and actually made friends. I don’t know why because there’s this tinge of insecurity based on my personality. Even though I feel like I’m much better than 5 years ago. How can I deal with this? Most importantly I’m afraid if people think I’m annoying.

Comedic and horror elements in shows

I love the mix between comedy and horror. Currently I’m watching True Blood and I find it to be campy (a good thing to me). I love Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, X-Files, and Widow’s Bay.

Quintessential British films?

I’m 22 years old and I consider myself to be an Anglophile. Sometimes I fantasied myself in the UK especially places like Manchester or London. I’m from NY so it’s probably not different than NYC. What is considered to be the essential British film? Growing up, I’ve watched all the Harry Potter films, Nanny McPhee films, and Bridget Jones Diaries films. I’ve watched most of Edgar Wright’s films and I love the 28 Years Later series. Especially the latest one, I think that’s the top movies for me for 2026.

Quintessential Irish films?

Hi, I’m 22 years old from NY and I find Ireland to be a beautiful place. I feel like my knowledge of Irish films are only The Banshee of Inisherin and Belfast. Those are the two films that I can think of at the moment but I really want to watch more!

Having a babyface or being short ≠ pedophilia

I am inspired by u/2Fast_2Abalone ‘s post about how liking flat-chested women equals you being a pedophile. I came across a certain Love Island post on r/Fauxmoi about this contestant saying a slur in the past, and some of the comments were about her being a babyface. Saying “I have to skip this part” or “I got turned off because she looks 16,” And it’s not like she’s going “goo goo gaa gaa“ - she’s acting her own age.

Like I remember being in this situation because I’m short and have a baby face. I had people dramatically telling me I look 6 years old. I’ve seen discourse about this online, and these people aren't focusing on the real victims of pedophilia. I really do hope they put the same energy targeting grown women towards the actual perpetrators.

Edit: I have to share this funny anecdote: I posted a photo of my face for makeup tips on Reddit. One of the comments said, “Girl, you look like you’re 9 years old,” so I checked her Reddit page and found that she was advising on how to get rid of crow's feet. 😭

My mom (61F) wants me (22F) to have a relationship with my brother (28).

I (22F) absolutely loathe my older brother Matthew (28) because I just find him to be a loser! Firstly, I don't talk to him because two or three years ago I asked my Dad (71) to wake me up for the Oscar nominations, so I could watch it with my niece (her dad is my other older brother). Since I found out that she likes movies, the Oscars are a good starting point. Then Matthew told me that he heard me saying that and blah blah blah. He's into the whole anti-Hollywood and anti-woke thing - this is the point, I'm like, who cares? So I stopped talking to him.

Matthew has no job or anything; he graduated from college 3 years ago. He doesn't have friends or anything. He just stays at home, watches movies, and exercises. He even has a piss bottle in his room. Also, he's a porn-addict; I followed him on Instagram, and he doesn't know that your followers can see what you liked or commented on Instagram Reels. It's literally porn addicted comments on the Instagram Reels. I remember one time, he was harassing this girl online from his college because she did BDSM art to cope with her sexual assault. And Matthew DMed her, "Nobody wants to see that shit". I had to DM the girl to block him. He's just a loser, and I don't want negative people around me. He's literally a teenager in the body of a 28-year-old. I remember I told my parents that he took the living room TV remote, and then my parents reprimanded him. Then he scribbled all over my things, calling me a "snitch". Also, every time we go on trips, he stares at women. I would see his head fully turned in the car, watching girls walking and crossing the streets in the city.

My parents do enable his behavior too. My Dad would say that he wanted to kick him out, but he never does until he fixes his behavior. Matt tried, but he's back to doing the same things. One time, Matt was arguing with my mom, and he threw the TV remote at the wall. It was so hard that the remote's motherboard was exposed. And Matt was physically intimidating my mom by looking at her and walking slowly for the remote. Then my Dad had to calm him down and tell him the neighbors would hear this commotion.

So now, my mom wants me to make amends with my brother. Since I wasn't nice to him because I gave snacks to my parents and not him. Now my mom is worried about him being lonely in the future. Which is an understandable fear, but it's his own actions that make him so repellent. What can I do in this situation?

Eloise is _____.

Eloise is stuck in story walking and can’t get out. In the new episode, coma Victor mentioned Eloise in a plane to visit Henry. Obviously in a plane, you begin at a starting point and heading towards the destination. Eloise is stuck in the middle of that trip.

slice of life shows that has 12 - 22 episodes per season?

Zoomers yearn for 22 episodes per season. I'm currently rewatching Degrassi TNG with my family and I really like episodes where the characters are just goofing off with each other. It doesn't serve towards the plot but it gives more insight about the characters. I just really like "filler" episodes !

I need a reboot ASAP !

I am 22 years old and I love Degrassi TNG. I heard about Degrassi growing up but got really into it when it was going to be on Netflix. Me not knowing it was a continuation, my millennial brother made me watch TNG. I've finished the whole series throughout middle school and I really got all of my friends to watch the show lol. But when I finally got caught up with the Netflix seasons, it ended up being cancelled. I was really excited about the HBO reboot ! But look how that happened lol. Something about how wholesome Degrassi was is something that I enjoyed. Also, teen shows now needs to be edgy or something. Like no! I don't want that lol! I feel like now every show has to have 8 episodes and an overarching plot. Like those episodes where the characters are hanging out with each other is called a "filler" episodes nowadays. Zoomers yearn for 22 episodes per season.

Even though I keep rewatching Degrassi constantly - I need shows to help with my fix! My favorite teen shows are The OC and Freaks and Geeks. Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Dawson Creek, Everwood, Heartbreak High, and Gilmore Girls are on my watchlist.

Edit: Also, I was excited that the reboot was going to have characters that were around my age. Like how my brother was the same age as Emma's cohort.
