It’s gonna be a long one. If you don’t wanna read it that’s fine. More or less comes down to shitty planning.

So I went over to the Bartlett fireworks show tonight. Loaded all the equipment up at noon and headed over at five right after work.

Show up everything‘s going good. Do a few rounds around the entire area. Pick up around 40 gallons or so. Find me a shady spot to cool down.

About an hour later, get up and start walking again and this is where the issue starts. I don’t know if my batteries are just getting old or if it’s an error. One battery immediately pops dead, which is weird because they normally last 4 or 5 miles.

So I switched over to secondary battery. This is where my first screwup really pops up. I didn’t bring extra batteries. I only have the two on the rig and if one is already dead, and I don’t know how much I can do before the other one dies, at which point I have to drag the rig back to my vehicle. Anyway, I switched over the secondary battery and it shows up dead as well which is doubly weird because I always charge them when I get done with a run. Now I have limited options. Do I just leave for the night? That’s what I should’ve done.

Nope, I call my wife who’s been having a very stressful couple weeks and asked her to bring me two additional batteries. I asked her to meet me in the Taco Bell parking lot. Communication are very spotty, but I was able to hear a confirmation that she was coming. And this is where I messed up again.

I assumed she would be coming up summer from Midtown. The parking lot at the Taco Bell was becoming a madhouse following the assumption like a dumbass. I moved Westward 50 feet to an empty parking area. Turned on all the flashers and watched the traffic so that I could let her in when she got there and she wouldn’t have to deal with trying to get in and out of that damn Taco Bell.

So I waited on the side of the road for probably 1.5 hours watching, assuming she got stuck in traffic. All the fireworks go off and everybody starts leaving and I’m finally able to get a call through. She informed me that she was in the Taco Bell parking lot for about 30 minutes was unable to find me got yelled at by a cop and left and went home. Fuck. I feel so bad about the whole incident.

There are lessons to be learned here and I will never make these mistake mistakes again

1. multiple redundancies are must when you were operating alone. (Bring extra batteries)
2. If you’re operating an area where you know, the communications are gonna be bad plan a secondary communication system. In case you need support. (leave preconfigure Mesh node in both vehicles to ensure communication on cell signal is not functional)
3. Pre-arrange meeting locations in the event you need assistance

Anyway. The fireworks sounded nice though.

Can you use the Mic air in conjunction with the internal microphones on the cameras.

I need a remote microphone, but I also wanna pick up the audio from the camera itself.

I was prescribed Flomax and Toradol. I haven’t needed any of the pain medication but for the last two weeks, I’ve been taking the Flomax at the same time every day as specified on the bottle. As far as I can tell, nothing’s happening or it’s already happened. CAT scan showed I had a 2 mm stone in the right kidney.
If I don’t have a Stone moving down then am I just wasting the medication?

It seems to me like it would be a wise idea to hold on to the Flomax until I get the indications that I have another kidney stone moving down.
