The two did fight in the same weight range so a hypothetical match up is entirely reasonable. It would be perfect at Jr. Middleweight.

Jackson had crushing KO power, he was pound-for-pound, one of the hardest hitters ever. However, he kind of choked against great fighters and slick boxers.

Oscar had such tenacity. Constant movement. Decent power. Great speed right until the end. In big nights that went the distance he often came out dancing for the 12th, looking fresh. But he did have a ceiling in terms of how far he could go. He should have lost to an aging Whitaker . He didn’t do well against Trinidad, and he became one of the few fighters to lose a major title tight by being kayoed on a one punch body shot when he lost to Bernard Hopkins.

De La Hoya - Jackson is a great fight.

My pick is Oscar. He survives early bombs and boxes his way to a point win or possibly a late round TKO win.

All these years later the movie does hold up. The music is great. It’s well made, well directed, and well acted.

I certainly am a total believer in the reappraisal of the charter of Ferris over the years . He’s a terrible friend. He’s ignorant, careless, unfeeling, insensitive, and annoying. He also just seems empty. I know it’s a comedy , but Ferris himself lacks depth. You never feel like you’re hearing him speak from his heart. He just speaks in these little witticisms throughout tue movie. There’s no real emotion or feeling in him. He bullies his mentally ill friend and makes him do things he’s clearly super-uncomfortable doing. And Sloan is no better. She’s just along for the ride and doesn’t intervene in Ferris’ bad behaviour. I know that Ferris’ being a horrible friend has been pointed out here many times, but I wonder if others see the total lack of depth as well?

Despite all this, it’s a fun rewatch every few years.

For me it just might be thrown by Ernie Shavers in his rematch with Larry Holmes. Holmes gets knocked down, and when he rides to his feet they crash fur a few seconds before Shavers throws a MASSIVE overhand punch that Holmes managed to avoid. That punch looks like it was incredibly powerful and could have ended the fight right there if it had landed.

As a fan of Holyfield, I’m glad he lost because I didn’t want to see him continue on in the sport. But most observers felt he should have had a points victory over the Russian giant. Had he won, I wonder what won’t have happened next? Holyfield would possess a world title belt and would be able to use it for at least one more big fight. His name alone, and the belt, would be a major bargaining tool. I think he would have looked to fight Mike Tyson once more. But I guess there’d be other possibilities.

I thought the song was about a person in a relationship who is seeing that the other person is preparing to leave then. Without letting the other person know, they are taking mental notes of all the little things they see that signify the end of the relationship, even though it’s not been clearly stated yet. This idea goes against those who say it’s basically a creepy song about a stalker.

But then I read that Sting himself has said it’s about a stalker.

So which is it??

He didn’t perform, just spent some time answering the phones and hanging around.

I suppose it would depend on what he confesses to.

That would be a far cry to confessing to murder.

In the 18–49 demographic, it's been closer at times, but Kimmel has recently pulled ahead substantially.
So, Kimmel is clearly winning the total-viewer race, especially since Stephen Colbert's show ended.

Salmon is almost certainly the most commonly grilled item when it comes to using cedar planks. But what else is good in a soaked piece of wood on your grill?

The answer is pretty simple to me. He followed Muhammad Ali and the whole fantastic heavyweight era of the 1970. With his absolute destruction of an ancient and sick Ali on 1980, Holmes began the 1980s alone as the sole top heavyweight. All the 70s greats were gone.

But there’s more. The boxing world was transfixed by the “big 4”: Leonard, Hagler, Duran, and Hearns. It was a magical time for lower weights who held the spotlight.

I’m just glad that Holmes came back in tne 1990s to show us his greatness, and I’m glad that more and more fans and historians are now ranking Holmes very high.

For me, the 3 greatest heavyweight are, in no order, Holmes, Louis, and Ali.

I’m not sure if they even allow this anymore , but I recall some franchises that I was so into that I watched them twice in the same night, paying only once . Have you ever done this? If so, for what movie? I think I did it for Star Trek IIIa and Rocky IV. I was amazed when someone told me I could do this. I imagine they don’t allow this today

It sometimes sounds like Wegovy purports to do these things, but aren’t these things just a benefit of weight loss?

I’d prefer the idea of a show or movie with minimal updates. It’s still called 1999. Computer still gives answers on cash register printout. It’s basically an alternate universe. Even uniforms would be pretty much the same. And of course, Eagles need no updating with the possible exception of retracting landing gear which was the original intent anyway.

Had no idea Space:1999 was part it.

One is a foundational belief I have. The past no longer exists once it’s lived. It exists I in our memory. And the future doesn’t exist u til we live it. We are always in the here and now and that’s that.

I also have another theory. We often ask “if time travel is possible then why are there no tourists from the future”. Of course this is a great and fair question. But I would expand t this beyond humanity. There are likely civilizations in the cosmos far older than ours. Maybe some that have been around for millions of years. So if they’ve invented time travel we might see evidence of it, as it would also mean they’ve likely harnessed other fantastic technologies which would result in contact with us.
