[Nate Mills] #Sabres Noah Ostlund says his injury “hopefully” won’t impact off season training. He also says he could’ve been available in later games if Sabres made it to ECF against Carolina. He won’t disclose the injury
[Matthew Bové] Very candid and powerful from Mattias Samuelsson. He said this year brought him so much joy back into his life. Said there were times in the past where he wasn’t having fun. He added the mental hurdles were at times more difficult than the physical injuries in years past.

LINE BLENDER WORKS!!!!!!!!!
my heart hasn't stopped racing holy moly. WHAT A GAME. aside from Lyon, I have absolutely no complaints about the way the team looked. KEEP PUSHING. PLAY THE FULL 60. RESPOND. AND BOY DID THEY ANSWER!!!!
It's really exciting to see the bigger offense playdriving bars (mid blue) in the defense, and the production bars (dark blue) with the forwards; 5v5 offensive chances from the dmen at the blue line and for transitions has been the memo all year, and they played with so much more aggression especially p2 onwards.
Unbelievable hustle tonight. Excellent face offs from McLeod and Norris today. Helenius is a gamer. Quiet night for Metsa-Timmins but great work on the PK for Timmins and solid presence from Metsa (score tanked by 2 goals against, but IMO on Lyon)
SHOUT OUT JACK QUINN AND LUUKKONEN. MY FAMES OF THE GAMES TONIGHT.
LET'S BRING IT HOME

I am so miserable. That was one of the most embarrassing collapses of the entire team all playoffs, and one of the worst all season. WTF was that????
I don't even have words for this shit. Tage sucks. Break up that fucking line. Timmins is a fucking joke. Everything has to be on the table next game. You cannot give this kind of effort against one of the most clutch teams in the playoffs. Good lord

Extremely goofy game today. Went from being ragebaited by the refs to being astounded by Tage's pinball bounce to being stressed out of my mind for the rest of the game. good lord I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. glad UPL had a good night, UPL and Lyon have been a tandem all year and switching them to give the other more rest is crucial for high leverage playoff games.
So so glad Konsta was slotted in today. If not for that insane Dobes save he would've 100% netted that, and he had great looks all game. keep the kid in. He and Quinn were humming together all night. Not the best game for top line still offensively (5v5 offense mid blue all negatives for them) but better than before. still need more from them. just break them up already man like come on.
frustrated with Bo. The shitty penalties sank his individual defense score (maroon) and GA is pretty intensely weighted for 5v5 defense score (orange) but even on a wider series look, he's had some rough few games. Went from an absolute engine during Bruins series to a lot more reckless with significantly less shots on goal in this series.
But celebrate the split series! let's fucking GO. KBC's gonna be buzzing for game 5
[Theory of Hockey] Bring on Better Days: Name the 15 Buffalo Sabres with the most goals during the playoff drought of 2011-2025.
A hockey analyst made a daily puzzle game for hockey quizzes, and I saw it on Twitter last week and have been playing along with my friends. Today's is Sabres themed so I thought I'd pass it along in case anyone is into daily puzzle games like Wordle or Connections

Man. Tage had an awesome goal and then his line proceded to shit the bed. line shuffling came too late, too far behind. I'd be interested to see them start with new lines next game instead of throwing combinations on the fly. 3rd line can't keep shouldering the brunt of the team, everyone else NEEDS to show up and not in a way that tanks their defense!!! Good grief
Just an uninspiring game. First 10 of p1 was solid, most of p3 was solid, everything else in between was a nightmare. Deeply frustrating game, wayyyy too much time playing in the defensive zone.
Don't think the game is on Lyon at all, but leaning towards a goalie change. They're a tandem, he's been shelled back to back and left to hang dry, give him a rest and put UPL in. and I know they're never gonna put him in unless someone's leg snaps off but I think Helenius would jazz up the lines.
flush it down, play the full 60 minutes, and stop taking dumb penalties

Disappointing game, but not unsalvageable. Top line.. what the hell was that. Tage has been giving me a headache since game 2 of bruins, he keeps trying to take over the whole game but he doesn't need to do that! he has to simplify it.
Just bad/uninspiring lines from everyone. no meaningful 5v5 from anyone (mid blue for offense, mid orange for defense) but 3rd line (seems to be a running theme that they're our best, most consistent performers night to night). sucks to see them get completely unravelled on home ice, but this was such an uncharacteristic loss/showing that I think they're wholly capable of turning around.
interesting to note: 3rd line and Dahlin-Sammy pair (+ Zucker) have the highest quality of competition adjustment bars (grey), cus they're being matched against the Habs top unit of Suzuki Slaf Caufield Matheson and Carrier. Benson has been scoring anyway, but I'm curious to see if Lindy will continue to deploy them that way or if he'll pick a different line to play shut down defense against them given tonight's results
Sam Carrick and Noah Ostlund are both expected to be out through Round 2 with their respective injuries, Sabres coach Lindy Ruff confirmed Sunday.
Carrick has been out since March 31 with an upper-body injury, which he sustained during a fight with New York Islanders captain Anders Lee.
Ostlund sustained his lower-body injury during the first period of Game 5 against Boston, when Bruins forward Casey Mittelstadt fell awkwardly on Ostlund’s left leg.
“I don’t believe either will be available in this series yet,” Ruff said.

The winner is determined by a poll among members of the NHL Broadcasters’ Association. Ruff is one of three finalists along with Pittsburgh's Dan Muse and Tampa Bay's Jon Cooper.
