Two year old Bourbon (Bourbon #A1927667) was adopted from BARC back in 2024 and landed back here as a stray. His owners never came looking for him. 💔

He has a rescue and long term foster, but they can't officially place a rescue hold on him until they have a short term foster to bridge the gap! Fostering is free, the rescue will cover all expenses. He just needs a place to land for 1-2 weeks. He loves people, is very affectionate, playful and well-mannered.

He has been temp tested with other dogs, he does not need to be the only dog; he just requires slow introductions with any resident dogs.

Bourbon is 64 lbs, healthy and heartworm negative.

Davino #A2089313 two year old medium sized staffy boy mix who was found as a stray. He ended up on the euth list because of space, he's getting stressed out in a shelter environment. He's very people oriented, extremely affectionate and sweet, and has been thriving with this outdoor time. He knows his basic commands, takes treats nicely, and allows for easy handling.

Sunnyside Street Dogs is ready to tag him but they need a foster for one of their current dogs or a foster for Davino in order to tag him.

7/27/2026: Stray – Field. Caller reported five pit bulls running loose and attempting to attack people, causing fear among adults and children.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

8/3/2026: Thumper greeted staff with a neutral body, dilated eyes, soft face, and sniffed toward them. He walked on a semi-loose leash, occasionally rearing with excitement. He remained quiet in his kennel throughout the day. During his afternoon walk he became aroused by jumping, scratching, and pawing at the handler but calmed after spending time in an outside run. He later sat on a bench leaning against the handler and walked back with a loose leash and wiggly body.

8/2/2026: Initially sat in the back of his kennel and approached slowly when called. He walked on a loose leash initially but became more excited outside, walking on a semi-tight leash. In the run he was vocal and wiggly but returned to the kennel on a loose leash with relaxed body language.

8/1/2026: Thumper greeted the handler with a relaxed body, wagging tail, and loose tongue. He walked well on leash at first but became overly excited outside, jumping on the handler, grabbing a shirt with his paws, becoming mouthy toward the leash, and thrashing it. He ignored treats but settled after continued walking before becoming jumpy again when returned to his kennel.

7/30/2026: During a morning move, Thumper repeatedly avoided being leashed by running from the gate. After patient handling, he sat on a bench, approached for affection, and eventually allowed the leash to be placed.

7/30/2026: Thumper was lying quietly in his kennel with a worried expression. He appeared very scared, but after gentle reassurance he relaxed, accepted petting, laid his head in the handler’s lap, and walked calmly on leash.

7/29/2026: Thumper greeted staff with a tense body, worried expression, and tucked tail. He walked on a loose leash to and from the runs but paced constantly and tested the barriers outside. He initially avoided the handler in the run but then approached and was easily leashed back to his kennel.

7/28/2026: Thumper was tucked in the back of his kennel and very aware of his surroundings. After gentle encouragement he began wagging, ran to hide behind the handler, allowed handling, and walked back to his kennel on a loose leash.

6/30/2026: Walks well on a loose leash.

7/4/2026: Chico was a Move Adopt dog and was walked by another ACT to South A. A volunteer walked him on a loose leash. He was shy but friendly and paid little attention to other dogs as he passed their kennels. Throughout the day he sat at the front of his kennel with a neutral body and eyes, ears down, and a low hanging tail.

7/8/2026: Chico was sleeping curled up on his Kuranda bed in a "C" shape. He remained quiet throughout the day.

7/9/2026: Quiet pup who mostly stays curled up in his bed. When approached in his kennel, he has a wiggly body.

7/11/2026: Walked on a wall hook with a loose leash and remained neutral while in the aisle. Friendly and calm when petted and paid little attention to other dogs while watching staff clean kennels.

7/13/2026: Very quiet pup. Likes to lounge on bedding. Takes treats gently and will sit and wait patiently when offered.

7/20/2026: Chico greeted at the front of his kennel with a loose body, wagging tail, and soft closed mouth. Remained calm and quiet in his kennel.

7/21/2026: Presented with a loose body, wagging tail, and soft closed mouth. Walked on a loose leash with happy little hops.

Meet Rodger: 1 year old sweet lab/pit mix who was found as a stray. His owner never came for him. Heartworm-negative good boy who is a staff favorite that's out of time at the shelter. He needs an adopter, local foster, or pledges to attract a rescue to make it out alive.

Rodger is playful and affectionate. Think zoomies in the yard, crunching on ice cubes, cuddles and belly rubs on the couch, and obsessed by his own reflection in windows. He did great on a recent Doggie Day Out and handled walks, a trip to the park, and new environments with ease. He's a sweet, happy boy ready for a family to give him a home!
