A request for some help

A request for some help

I love using a Mac mini. It lets me bring any keyboard, monitor and mouse I want with my Mac. Only one problem. No external mic I've tried yet will allow me to trigger Siri with "Hey siri."

With a new agentic Siri coming in MacOS 27, it would be nice if we could trigger Hey Siri with an external of some kind, either one that Apple makes, or a third-party mic they certify.

If you agree with me, please leave Apple feedback here:

Thank you.

Do yo do things to prevent your GM from being burdened with the cost of running the game?

Being in this hobby, it's quite apparent to me that the GM tends to spend more money and time than players do. And I say this as a forever player.

I'm curious if players do things to relieve the GM of this burden. In my group, the players have bought PDFs or physical books for the GM. We've paid for a Roll20 subscription. 2 of us actually run Foundry servers. What else can we do to make our GMs life and burden on their wallets easier.

What is your biggest iPad pain point?

My biggest pain point is apps running in the background, especially ones that sync files in the background. There are certain files I need to keep in sync across all my devices and there is no easy way to do that. At some point files get out of sync, unless I open the app of my specific cloud storage provider so that iOS/iPadOS unfreezes the app.

I wish they would release a Kobo Libra 3 with an eInk Carta 1300 panel in it.

I can't be the only one that doesn't care about color and just wants the crispest, sharpest eInk display possible.

I have a TCL NxtPaper 14. Not sure what launcher it comes with on Android 15. But I'd like something that makes it more a tablet and less a really big phone.

C-Suite executives are pushing CoPilot hard right now. Any time we was for additional resources, we need to prove we tried our best to do it with CoPilot and it didn't work.

Meanwhile there is this line in the CoPilot terms of service:

Copilot is for entertainment purposes only. It can make mistakes, and it may not work as intended. Don’t rely on Copilot for important advice. Use Copilot at your own risk.

I don't know if the is common knowledge or not. I sent Catalyst Games Labs an email with pictures of my Core Rulebook and Emerald City with the receipt lying on top of them. Hours later I got an email that both PDFs were added to my Catalyst Game Labs store account.

I have two CleanAirKits filters in my house now. I have the 5 fan unit in my bedroom and the 7 fan unit in my basement.

I wanted to get a 7 fan unit for my living room/dining room/kitchen area. But the Luggable XL is now $310, up from the $270 I paid for it last year.

So, I think it might be time to DIY something. I definitely want PC fans. And I'd like to do something with 7 fans.

Is there any place I can download plans I can use to get some panels cut to assemble a crbox that big?

I have a Clean Air Kits luggable XXL 7 fan unit in my basement. When I bought the thing last year, I didn't realize I could not get 25×25×1 Filtrete air filters easily as Lowes. Being impatient, I order Filterbuy MERV 13 filters from Amazon and installed those.

The Filterbuy filters were smaller than the Filtrete filters, so I had to use a lot of tape around the edges to get a good seal.

Everything worked OK. My basement PM2.5 went from 20 to 0 in about 15-20 minutes. But it's been a year now, I thought it was time to change the filters. I put a piece of paper against the filter and it still stuck, so I knew I had decent air flow.

With more time on my hands, I ordered the Filtrete 25×25×1 1900 filters from Lowes. Replacing the filters kicked some dust up and the PM2.5 sensors I was using shot up to 25. I turned the filter on, and 5 minutes later my PM2.5 was down to 1, and 2 minutes after that, zero.

I'm curious now if the Filtretes are better filters than most, or if this is just a one-off situation here.
